Welcome Bardicvoice To The Winchester Family Business Writing Team!
I love making announcements like this, especially when I get to welcome someone to the site whose writing first inspired me to write something about Supernatural. Look how that turned out!
Bardicvoice has graciously accepted my invitation to bring her reviews and Supernatural University segments to the Winchester Family Business! She has been writing about Supernatural since the beginning of season two and has previously maintained blogs on the TV Guide website, Supernatural.TV and her own Livejournal site, one that we have often referred to in our articles and recommended links. Her gift for analysis is one of the best in any fandom right now and I’m thrilled she’s bringing her talents to The Winchester Family Business.
To see Bardicvoice’s new profile page, go here. Better yet, post a comment welcoming her to the site. Then get your thinking caps on, for her articles to come are really going to challenge you to think. That’s exactly the way we like things!
Alice Jester is the founder, editor-in-chief, head writer, programmer, web designer, site administrator, marketer, and moderator for The Winchester Family Business. She is a 30 year IT applications and database expert with a penchant for creative and freelance writing in her spare (ha!!) time. That’s on top of being a wife, mother of two active kids, and four loving (aka needy) pets.
Bardicvoice, can I be the first to welcome you to WFB. I have read your reviews since season four. I caught up to your earlier reviews from supernaturaltv and from your link here at WFB.
😀 😀 WELCOME 😀 😀
Thank you, thank you! (And I can say that now – thanks, Alice, for getting the user account to work!) I’m looking forward to having lots of fun with you folks over here!
Bardicvoice, welcome to WFB. I am looking forward to reading your articles! I am glad you have found a home here. Put up your feet and get comfortable. 🙂
Thank you! Think I’ll be too busy writing to put my feet up much, though – but I’ll certainly get comfortable!
Thank you for the welcome and the compliment! I hope things stay thinky enough for you … *grin*
Oops, purplehairedwonder – somehow, my reply to you wound up as my second reply to Mstngsali1 above – guess I have to do a better job of paying attention to what I’m doing here!
Thanks, Ginger! I hope I can keep producing satisfying stuff!
Thank you all!! I have to figure some things out here; I was starting to do individual responses, and then they kept going where I didn’t intend them to be. Yipes! Until I get my act together, please accept this blanket thanks as a placeholder for my intended individual hugs and handshakes and high-fives. They’ll be coming, I promise! I am honored and gratified by your welcome, and your compliments make me blush – I only hope I can continue to deliver satisfaction and share our common joy in the show!
Congrats on finding a new home for your excellent analysis, Mary! I look forward to continuing reading your thinky thoughts!
Thanks, purplehairedwonder! Hopefully I’ll continue to be thinky enough …
Welcome, indeed. I’ve followed you for years and your analysis is excellent. Expecially love your production notes, which I always learn something new.
Thanks, Ginger! I’m a production junkie, so everything I can learn and notice is irresistible to me … 🙂
Bardicvoice it’s good to have you here. I have followed you on livejournal for a few years and I have always enjoyed your insight and commentary on Supernatural. I’m glad to have you aboard
Thank you, percysowner! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed my stuff!
Mary, I’m your fan. Be welcome. 🙂
Thank you, AndreaW! I’m feeling very warm, fuzzy, and welcome about now … *grin*
Bardicvoice,
When I first found this show back at Mystery Spot and was searching for all things Supernatural, I found your reviews on SupernaturalTV. I sat and enjoyed each and every one of them…and I still do. I took every one of your ‘University classes’ which helped to pass time between episodes and helped me catch up.
I continuously am amazed at the depth of your reviews and appreciate the effort you put into them.
Welcome to TWFB, I’m going to enjoy finding your analyses here, saves me a click. 🙂
Great to have you on board.
Thank you, elle2! I’ve appreciated your reviews, even when we disagree. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the classes; I’ve got some new ones in the queue, along with a few updates on older courses to bring them up to the present!
Welcome and I’m excited to have you on board! 😆
Thanks, rmoats8621! I’m pretty excited to be on board; this is one spiffy boat, full of great company!
This is great news ! Welcome, Bardicvoice. 🙂
Thank you, CitizenKane2! Rosebud …
Yay!!!! Oh just yay!
Wow, how’d Alice pull this off? Nicely done whatever this “invitation” entailed. I keep picturing some kind of manuvering like what is doubtlessly done before the 1st round pick of the NFL. Or like the college coaches going after those star players.
All the cameras are on, the suspense builds, BardicVoice hesitates, then puts on TWFB cap! She’s ours! *insert crowd cheering madly*
*TV announcer voices*
“Well John, I just didn’t see that one coming.”
“I agree Bob. But I think it was a good choice on Bardics part, especially with how well this site has been doing. But to snag such a fantastic writer is a surprise.”
“That it is John. That it is. Alice’s team already has some strong talent, but I’d make a bet that Bardicvoice won’t be warming the bench any time soon!”
So glad you chose to accept the invite Bardicvoice! Looking forward to reading more of your stuff.
You crack me up! What an imagination!
I wish it was that dramatic. I emailed, made an offer, and she was thrilled to say yes. I did have an ulterior motive though. Basically I have to cut back my writing schedule because this site has grown so large I need to devote more time to site admin and development. Who better to ask! Bardicvoice and her work is such a perfect fit for what we do here.
BTW Mary will send a reply of thanks. We had an issue tonight getting her account setup (it’s that admin stuff I’m talking about). She’s all set for tomorrow though!
ROFLMAO! Thanks for this, Yvonne! As Alice said, itwas a lot simpler than this: how could I resist an offer to come here? You folks are SO very cool … *grin* And VERY fun!
Woo Hoo! Welcome. 🙂
Thanks, Tigershare! Happy to be here!
Woo hoo!! Love the reviews, Mary!! This is a great pairing!
Thanks, Melanie! Glad you like my stuff; hopefully, I’ll continue to satisfy you!
Wow, Mary, it’s an honour to have you on the team! I love your wit and insight, and it’s gonna be a pleasure reading your work here on our site 🙂
My warmest welcome possible, love Jas
Thank you, Jas! I’m a psych amateur compared to you; I really appreciate the welcome. I feel very much at home, an look forward to sharing a lot here!
I’ve been a fan of your wonderfully detailed, insightful reviews on LiveJournal, so I’m glad to see your reviews will have an additional home here! Looking forward to your future insights and reflections on Show. =)
Thanks, synapticshiver! (Love your username, BTW!) I hope I continue to please!
Oh Joy!!! I too have read your reviews and fics, Mary, for many years now and they are always very excellent and thinky 🙂 Reading your insightful reviews makes my, sometimes tunnelvision, view of a certain episode much more enlarged and appreciative.
So a very, very warm welcome to this great site!! *HugsGalore*
Ps. I just had to add that I love the Impala Chronicles
Thanks, Supernarttu! I’m really glad you’ve enjoyed my writing, both reviews and fics. I do plan to continue the Impala Chronicles; real life has just been very busy of late, but I promise – we will have as many chapters as the Impala has years!
I’m relatively new here, but I read some of your reviews and always found them very thought-provoking (sometimes almost “achademic”), so I’m really glad to have the chance to read something from you here. Welcome!
Thanks, Brynhild! I welcome the “academic” tag, by the way; when I started doing Supernatural University and my reviews, I determined I would never write “down” to an audience, but indulge my professorial genes. At work, I always have to try keeping to an 8th grade writing level at most; I love being able to stretch in the reviews and SU entries. I’m glad you enjoy the approach!
Fáilte go dtàTWFB, Bardicvoice.
I got into your reviews via links from this site and I’ve always loved them. They’re really insightful, and observant and balanced!
I didn’t realise you had so much other stuff written on other sites so I think I’ll be spending a lot of nights catching up on old reviews (I love doing that. It’s great seeing things through other peoples eyes. It’s going to take me months to get through everything on this site alone!)
Can’t wait to read you.
Thank you, Tim the Enchanter! I don’t have the Gaelic, so I can’t answer in kind, but I really appreciate the thought and the welcome! I hope you enjoy roving through the past, and look forward to sharing the future!
Welcom to the site! I have always loved your reviews.
Thanks, sablegreen! Your praise honors me; I hope I remain worthy!
Welcome Bardicvoice!
I have been a fan of your reviews and articles since the summer of 2007. I’m so thrilled that you have joined the WFB. 😀
Thanks, Karen! Wow, you’ve been with me or a good long while; I hope I continue to give satisfaction. And I’m ecstatic to be here at TWFB!
welcome bem vindo , quem ganha somos nos
Obrigada!
Think I got that right … If I didn’t, I definitely meant, “thank you!”
I’m glad to be here with you!
Welcome, Bardicvoice!
I’ve been a fan of your reviews for a few years now, they are just fantastic. I’m really thrilled to have you here.
Greetings from Croatia,
Lara
Thank you, Lara! I am most honored, and hope I continue to please!
Welcome, welcome and welcome again!
I, too, originally came across your reviews via supernatural.tv, but was really pleased to find links to your site from here too. Your articles are absolutely incredible and your eye for detail and love and respect for the show are second to none. Like Tim, I did not know about the other stuff you do, but I shall definitely be checking it out. Am looking forward to reading your articles very much 🙂
(loved Yvonne’s take of the hiring coup! Kudos Alice)
Many thanks, magichappening! (And magic really is happening, right here, right now!) I hope you enjoy my stories and old articles, and look forward to chats about the ones yet to come. 🙂
And I, too, loved Yvonne’s bit!
Welcome Bardicvoice!
I’ve been reading your reviews and metas it seems like forever on your site, so am delighted you will be here at WFB too.
Your articles about my favourite show are fascinating and I read every word of them.
Your thoughts of the technical sides of the production are interesting also.
Glad you are here!
Thanks, Bevie! I’m delighted to know you’ve read and enjoyed my stuff, and I’m really glad to be here now, too!
Welcome, Bardicvoice! I’ve been following your reviews for about 2 years now & I love your insights!
Thanks, BagginsDVM! That’s a familiar username … *grin* Happy to see you here!
This is wonderful news. Bardicvoice is a very welcome addition.
Thank you,Richard! I’m very happy to be here!
Thanks, Chalaine35! All this praise is making me blush … I’m pretty excited to be here myself!
Thanks, Leslie92708! I’m really happy to be here, and am looking forward to a lot of shared fun!
Thanks, Dany! There’s happiness all the way around!
Thanks, Yume! I’m honored, and I’m eager to see what the future brings!
Thanks, Yuri! I hope I will please. And I agree with you about this site; I’ve been staying away from most fansites precisely because a lot of people get shrill and immature. Civility is to be prized!
I don’t immediately recall any interviews about Jensen’s reaction to Dean torturing Alastair, but if I think of one, I’ll letyou know!
Excellent! Mary, you are the voice of “Supernatural” insight. I’m so glad you are here!
Thanks, Kayo! I’m really happy top be on board!
Welcome to the team, Bardicvoice! I’m so happy to have you aboard, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with in your reviews and articles.
Thanks, Ardeospina! I love all your slideshows, motivational posters, and other goodies!
Mary, I am so happy that you have teamed up with Alice’s wonderful site. I’ve been reading your thoughtful reviews for years as well as your wonderful Supernatural University posts. I look forward to reading many more of each in the future.
So, welcome!
Thanks, Deborah! I hope I continue to please … 🙂
Welcome to the site Mary! 🙂
I hope you will will be really happy here, it is a very special little haven.
Looking forward to reading your articles Ju
Thanks, Julie! I know I’ll be happy here; I’m smiling already!
Thanks, Sharon! I’ll confess, I don’t spend much time on the sn.tv site either, or on most other show sites, for the same reasons you just mentioned. Love it here, though, and happy to be part of the team!
