A Song for Two Brothers
This is me trying something new. As real life work has a good hold of me and creating it difficult to find time to write properly, I felt reminded of some songs whose lyrics have reminded me of our dear Winchester brothers – resembling their relationship from the past or from today. So, to indulge in some things Supernatural, despite a restrained schedule, I am taking on this idea of illustrating songs. There will be more to come. For starters, I hope you enjoy this one.

White Knuckles by Alter Bridge
Are you still lost tonight?
Living, but dead inside
This is a proclamation
This is a call to rise
Are you abused, alone?
Walking with broken bones,
If you feel you’ve been forgotten
Let this song guide you home.
*Hold on for your life
All we feel is so far from alive
The damned are done believing
The cursed can dream no more
So hold on for your life
Because only the strong survive.*
They tell you what you should be
Sell you the plastic dream
Opinions are all provided
But nothing is what it seems
I dare you to take control
Cause empty are hands and
Bruised are the souls
Of those who show no resistance
Of those who are weak below
We are the disenchanted
Who die with each passing day
No one here understands us so I say
*Hold on for your life
All we feel is so far from alive
The damned are done believing
The cursed can dream no more
So hold on for your life
Because only the strong survive.*
How will it feel?
To live a lie until your dying day
Where nothing is real
As we sacrifice bending until we break
It’s been revealed
Hold on to your life
Dreams are not theirs to take
Wow. that is fantastic.
Hi Jasminka
What a great idea. Can’t wait to see the others you have put together. 😀
Thanks, junkerin, Dany and Karen, too kind, really! This is fun and a nice change from all the analysing I’ve done lately.
Hugs, Jas
First off, Jas, I do know you love my reviews and I appreciate you so much! 😀
Now onto this wonderful new direction for you, ah, I know what it’s like to have life/work take a strong hold of you and not let go. Thank goodness you chose to forgo a bit of rest to give us something to enjoy. You find the most wonderful songs/poems/quotes and then pair them visuals to show us the journey of the characters as well as a bit of yourself; thank you.
I’ll look forward to whatever else you muster up for the “couch” and know that I’m always out here enjoying it!
🙂
This was an inspired idea Jas !
Didnt know this one at all, great lyric but not melody, as my friend would have me say not to my taste!
You do realise this is destined to be a very very very long series as the possibilities are endless Ju
I like!! It is a very poetic way to discuss our Winchesters! I’m not familiar with the song but now I’ll have to go find it.
Thanks!!!
Dawn
Elle2, Julie and Dawn, thank you, dear ladies! I am happy you liked this.
And, Elle, I am thrilled to be still able to make you curious about those little kids of my brain…
Julie and Dawn, the melody is a bit harsh, very, very rocky, but, well, I just loved the lyrics…
Love, Jas
That was neat, Jas. It really makes me want to go listen to the song now because I’m not familiar with it. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
Thanks so much, Flamey. The song is a bit too hard-rocky for my taste, but I could not n-o-t notice the lyrics… But that’s just me. :-), Jas
