Smallville and Supernatural Score Another Big Night in Ratings
Yes, it helped that last night was the big milestone 200th episode for Smallville and baseball was on TBS, but The CW had a really big night. The CW four weeks in is actually making a name for itself on Friday night and it has the power combo of Smallville and Supernatural to thank. Here’s the impressive rundown of last night’s results:
– Smallville took FIRST PLACE in its time slot in the 18-49 demo (1.3) and the 18-34 demo. It had 3.2 million viewers too, enough for 3rd place. That’s TOTAL viewers. Taking anything above 5th in viewers is a major feat for The CW.
– Supernatural tied for 2nd place in its time slot in the 18-49 demo (1.2) and took first place in the 18-34 demo. It had 2.8 million viewers, which was enough for 4th place! It actually beat Fox’s new scripted show The Good Guys by half a million viewers. Again, it’s never finished above 5th.
– The CW took 2nd place for the night in the 18-49 demo and first place in the 18-34 demo.
Congratulations to Smallville on reaching 200 episodes! It’s great to see that after all this time, the fans are still invested. Congratulations to Supernatural too. That’s quite a rookie director you’ve got there. I hope you’ll have him back. :)
This is great news. 🙂
I am pretty happy about these numbers. Thank you, Alice, (numbers geek that you are :ugeek: ) which I love ’cause I’m a numbers geek without any clue in this arena so your articles are gold to me.
Any idea why in last week’s ratings article that showed the same day + seven (which I think includes the DVR numbers) Supernatural didn’t appear at all on the radar? Usually SPN gets a nice lift there but it wasn’t anywhere on any chart. Any thoughts there?
