Supernatural began with the destruction of the nuclear family—and ten years later we see that theme continue with the Novak family in “Angel Heart.”
What to say about “Angel Heart”? As villains and devious concepts go, this episode fell considerably short in the grand Supernatural scheme. Evil beings feeding on a humans while the human lives in a utopia mentally? Well, it’s wholly similar to the idea of a Djinn, first presented much more significantly in “What Is and…
Fans had very mixed reactions to Supernatural’s “Angel Heart”. Some were warmly wrapped in its emotions declaring it as one of their series favorites while others were bored to distraction. Personally, I liked the story.
Welcome to episode three of a three episode arc telling the captivating tale of wayward Claire Novak and her cross country (or at least the Midwestern) misadventures. For those of you who read my stuff, you’re probably sensing the dripping sarcasm in that sentence. Still, this won’t be a negative review.

Last summer, I wrote an article titled “Supernatural Season 8 and the Case for Hope.” This essay was a reaction to Season 7 which, for me, told a story that was often devoid of hope and heavy on despair, while simultaneously lacking excitement. In that season, the boys lost Bobby and (temporarily) Castiel, were forced…

Sunday the 13th was Kim Manner’s birthday. Even though he passed away back in 2009, I can’t help but wonder when I watch a scene what Kim would have done with it. On Saturday the 12th, really with not much prior plannning, a few of us decided to watch a few episodes in honor of…
“Torn and Frayed” is an aptly named episode. The song, from the Rolling Stones album Exile on Mainstreet, and its lyrics touch on two of its storylines: Dean and Benny and Sam and Amelia. The lyric reads, “Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away.” In this particular episode, the…
