The CW just announced a slew of early renewals, including Supernatural!!

Ahead of their Winter TCA presentation, The CW has announced early renewals for a huge swath of their most popular programming. Seven series have been renewed for the 2017-2018 season. They are:

  • Arrow (Season 6)
  • Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Season 3)
  • DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Season 3)
  • The Flash (Season 4)
  • Jane the Virgin (Season 4)
  • Supergirl (Season 3)
  • Supernatural (Season 13)

The CW’s President Mark Pedowitz said in an official press release, “Over the past several seasons, The CW has built a schedule of proven performers, from our lineup of DC superheroes, to critically acclaimed comedies, to sci-fi dramas. Early pickups of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for next season, and gives us a solid base to build on for next season, with original scripted series to roll out all year long.”

So we're good for another year. Congratulations to the show. Lucky 13! We will update this story as it develops.

UPDATE: From Deadline.

As long as the show is performing, the boys (stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki) want to do it and I am in the chair, Supernatural has a long life,” said Pedowitz, who had been a fan of the show since before joining the CW.
