"Our brothers and sisters are there with us from the dawn of our personal stories to the inevitable dusk."ʉۥ Susan Scarf Merrell

My second tribute to Supernatural characters is to the Banes siblings, Alicia and Max. I really enjoyed this duo when we saw them on screen. Of course, in traditional Supernatural fashion, their story ended tragically. Also, as their creating writer moved on, I don't think we will ever find out what became of them after their last episode. This is unfortunate, because the brother/sister team was popular with fans. Appearing in only two episodes, 12.06 "Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox" and 12.20 "Twigs & Twine & Tasha Banes", there weren't many scenes that fans could memorialize in videos. Still, the Banes twins are worth remembering as unique, well written characters whose story paralleled that of Sam and Dean in several ways.

In Peaceful Dreams by Seasick Steve

Unfortunately, no lyrics were found so here is the song.

Steven Gene Wold (né Leach, March 19, 1951), commonly known as Seasick Steve, is an American blues musician. He plays mostly personalized guitars and sings, usually about his early life doing casual work. From the late 1960s, he worked as a musician and recording engineer in the US and Europe, as well as pursuing other work, before his commercial breakthrough, initially in the UK, at the end of 2006. Some sources suggest an earlier birth date.

I could've saved them... my Mom. If I had just... taken Alicia seriously.

I don't have it. It's just kind of a lot of noise to me. Magic is definitely their thing, you know?

Trivia and Minutiae

Sam: Wait, so you guys were raised by a witch, but you're hunters?
Max: Yep. She was, like, a good witch. Very Enya. It was the '90s.
Enya is an Irish musician who was hugely popular in the '90s with her Celtic/new age music

Sam: Their mom's on a hunting trip and hasn't been home in a week.
A spin on Dean's line from 1.01 "Pilot": "Dad's on a hunting trip. And he hasn't been home in a few days."

Editor's Note: In light of the social justice movement that is awakening worldwide, I proposed to our staff that we specifically turn our attention to guest stars, characters, themes or moments in the show that might help under-represented groups see themselves in Supernatural, and be more acknowledged as valued members of our #SPNFamily. We hope that our public showcase of actors' roles and diverse characters also helps the industry and the public (fans and non-fans) notice the contribution of under-represented groups to Supernatural's 15 year, record breaking run.
