I so disagree with those who dislike season 10. I love it. It has all the things I missed in seasons 8and 9-humor and wit, good dialogue, the boys working together and engaging monsters of the week. There are episodes like Fan Fiction and Hibbing 911 that I've watched many times. And who's not excited to have Smart Sam back?

I have never missed a live airing of an episode since the Pilot, but I think this is my last season of SPN, and I'm only finishing it out because I'm halfway through. My feeling is the J2s have lost their show; their 'legacy,' with terrible writing, terrible characterization, stories that really go nowhere until the finale where something exciting is introduce only to fizzle out in a parade of one-bit characters. I don't like the Js, for the most part, putting in cameo appearances or serving as bookends, with a few episodes focused on them sprinkled throughout the season.

I am not happy with the ensemble cast, because Cas has no purpose at all, and hasn't had in years, and they have ruined Crowley's character with the terrible mommy issues story. I hate that the writers focus on developing back stories for one bit characters....and I particularly hate that every time Thompson opens his mouth, he talks, "Oh, I love those two dudes, but fan favorite Charlie really brings it to the show"...and I hate teenagers in what used to be a very good adult drama/horror show.

I have watched through the Gamble years and the Carver years, because I was heavily invested in Sam and Dean Winchester. My feeling now is if the J2s have lost interest in their "legacy," and the writers cannot produce a through-story, only have an interest in writing the Winchesters to serve whatever idea they have dreamed up, and write dumbed down episodes filled with teenage angst to try to attract a 15-year-old viewing audience, then I can watch the last episode the series ever airs and find out what became of the Winchesters. Let the teenies have the thing. It's getting too dumb for me to enjoy any longer.

That's a great question! I'm very disappointed with this season. The slower pace isn't energizing me or even inspiring me to watch. I used to get so excited on episode night, now I work Supernatural into the rotation with other shows on the DVR. Most of those other shows are entertaining me far more.

I'm an old timer though. I've been watching religiously (and I founded this site) since early season three. The show has gone common, unoriginal, and has decided to cater more to younger audiences who like the soapier elements of the story. I miss the intelligence, the complex stories, the faster pace, the heart, the life or death urgency, and Sam and Dean doing more than moping around going through the motions. When Castiel was introduced I was screaming in excitement! Now he's a wimpy, powerless, listless angel with no purpose in life. How could they ruin him like that? Even the spark in Crowley has been missing. I don't want to watch these characters I love drift through life with no purpose. I see all that enough in my everyday life.

So, if this ends up being more of the same in season 11, especially since season 9 was like this too, I'm not sure I'm on board. I'd rather they ramp things up and announce the end game. I so don't want Supernatural to go out a pathetic whimper like the once great series CSI. That's just too tragic in my mind.

Anyway, that's just my take, and I know a lot of people are happy. I'm pleased there are people like yourself who can enjoy the show. I also know that unless they get a new show runner and a whole new writing team, nothing will change because the ratings are good. So yeah, I'm just not sure how much more loyalty they can get out of me.

When I read about the S11 renewal I sat expecting the usual surge of excitement I've felt every pick up since S2 was announced. But this time there was nothing. I've been watching since The Pilot - and online talking about it the minute The Pilot finished - so maybe I'm just gradually drifting away after all these years. Maybe I'm burnt out by all the fandom ups and downs...I don't know. I've always said I will watch to the very end, SPN has been such a huge part of my life all these past years, but the spark just isn't there for me anymore.

I didn't enjoy S8 or S9 all that much (downright hated a lot of those seasons) and overall S10 is just boring me, although there are a few episodes that I have enjoyed. They have even managed to make Crowley boring for me this year and I would have never believed that could ever happen. I am not a fan at all of this writing team ( oh how I dearly wish Sera Gamble would come back) nor of Carver as showrunner. I don't like that they are now catering to the younger audiences. Give me classic S1-3 SPN any day! Those will always be my favourite seasons.

Hopefully the MOC storyline will get into gear soon, hopefully Sam will have something to do other than looking worried soon and then maybe my interest will pick up again. No doubt I will be back for S11 but only because of Jared and Jensen.

Sadly, I have to admit I'm not excited for Season 11, primarily because the storyline they will have to stretch out to accommodate this, the MoC, just isn't sufficiently compelling or engaging. There are already a lot of filler episodes and soap-opera nonsense this season, and Jeremy Carver has said they are having to accordion things out for Season 11. Better to go out with a bang than a whimper, and it looks like Supernatural has chosen the latter route. I'm committed thru the end of S10 but, unless things start changing for the better, Season 10 is probably the end of the road for me.

Historically I have always been elated when SPN was renewed for another season. This time, for season 11, it's different. I have become so disengaged and disappointed with Season 10 that I don't know if I can see this season throught. "Paint it Black" was the straw that broke the camel's back for me - it was so terrible that I no longer believe the show has a future with one caveat. I could get excited about Season 11 if Carver were to leave and half of the writing room was let go. If we continue with the same lack of leadership (Carver) and them same terrible writing (Lemming and Buckner, etc.) I don't see anything changing. Cass lost his grace in Season 8 for goodness sakes and we are almost 3 seasons past that and NO resolution - WHY? Sam and Dean don't work on the show full time anymore and the additiona of characters like Rowena, despise this character, do nothing to fill that void. Castiel and Crowley are utterly unrecognizable shadows of their former selves. Why would anyone want more of the same? IMO, Season 10 is so terrible it is unwatchable save a few excellent episodes that give people a thin enought thread to hang onto. I am torn - I never wanted to think about SPN ending but in a way it has already ended for me. I'm beyond sad at how this happened. Does Carver even show up for work? Is there even a master story outine for the season? Do writers writer whatever they want from their POV with little regard to history, canon, characters, arc or lack of an arc? This season seems as if there is no one driving the bus. I honestly can't believe that J2 are willing to embarrass themselves and the show by acting some of these terrible scripts. In "Paint it Black" even J2 didn't seem engaged - maybe they knew the script was crap but since Eugenie is Robert Singer's wife maybe they have no choice. I wish J2 would stand up and say this show is falling apart and it needs to be fixed - it doesn't seem like anyone else on the show cares enough to plot a course correction.

I'm very excited for the upcoming season. I have loved this season. It's had a few episodes that weren't awesome but there were some episodes in prior seasons that weren't great either. I'm hoping next season finds a way to put a spring back in the boys steps though. It'd be great to see them pulled a little away from the drama and back to the scary movie and silly antics from prior seasons. I think it's all part of the process. I'd love to see more episodes like Yellow Fever, The French mistake, the type of episodes that bring out the fun. It can do with a little more goofball in season 11. I enjoyed About a Boy they brought back some the puns and put a nice twist on tales of witches.

I'll only be excited if they announce a new show-runner (that isn't named Robert Singer), and they cull some of the writing staff (Singer's wife and her bumbling boy-wonder for starters).

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem like a show that will bring in outside help at that level. They always promote from within (the Hollywood way of failing upwards), and no-one in the writers staff do I want anywhere near show-runner or storyline editor. Ben Edlund should be writer/storyline editor.

At best we'll get a show-runner from another CW series, but anyone that's any good is staying put with what they're currently doing.

I have little faith.
