From EW we are getting a new recurring character.

Elizabeth Blackmore, who is currently on The Vampire Diaries, is set to leave Mystic Falls for an appearance on Supernatural later this season, E! News has exclusively learned. And SPN fans should expect to see a lot more of Blackmore NEXT season.

Blackmore, who can also be seen on AMC's Turn, will be taking on the recurring role of Lady Toni Bevell, first appearing in an episode later this season, and will return for an unspecified number of episodes in season 12. A mysterious visitor from across the pond, Lady Toni Bevell will actually have a lot in common with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). Hm...what could those similarities be? Let the speculation commence!

Supernatural Names New Showrunners as Jeremy Carver Moves to Frequency from TVLine

TVLine has learned that showrunner Jeremy Carver will step down at the conclusion of the current 11th season to focus on his new CW thriller Frequency, which earlier this week was ordered to series. He will be succeeded by the new co-showrunning team of Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb.

1. Will God show up in future "Supernatural" episodes?

In season 11, episode 20, we learned that God is Chuck. Several long-time fans had already suspected this, but having the show confirm it was wonderful.

Rob Benedict's Chuck is doing a fabulous job portraying the Almighty, but we'd like to know if he will continue to appear in future episodes.

2. What role does Elizabeth Blackmore's Lady Toni Bevell play in season 12?

As we reported earlier, "TVD" actress Elizabeth Blackmore had been cast weeks ago to play the mysterious role of Lady Toni Bevell. The CW didn't give any details about her character except that she will appear in seasons 11 and 12. So far, Blackmore hasn't made an appearance and we wonder how she helps (or doesn't help) the Winchesters in taking down Amara.

3. Will we ever get a "Supernatural" spin-off show?

"Supernatural" fans have been clamoring for a spin-off show for a long time. Will we get to see a show on hunters Bobby Singer and Rufus Turner before they died? Or will the network finally approve a female-driven "Supernatural" spin-off that shows Alex and Claire becoming hunters?

4. What potential guest-stars will we see in season 12?

Every season of "Supernatural" has had a bevy of diverse guest-stars. Guest appearances of Season 11 alone include Rob Benedict as Chuck, Jim Beaver as Bobby Singer, Steven William as Rufus Turner, Kim Rhodes as Sheriff Jody Mills and Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer.

5. Is Metatron dead?

In the recently aired episode 21, Metatron seemed to have died at the hands of Amara. Is he really gone or is there a possibility he will be back? Metatron was sort of growing on us!

3. What role does Toni Bevell play in season 12?
The season 11 finale ended with Toni Bevell — a member of the London Branch of the Men of Letters — announcing that she's going to apprehend Sam and Dean for all the damage they've caused over the years. However, it's unclear how large a role she plays in the upcoming season.

2. Is Dean and Sam's mother — Mary Winchester — back for good?
As a thank you to Dean for helping her reconcile with her brother, Amara offers him the thing he needs the most — his mother! Surprisingly, she's wearing the same nightgown the night she died in 1983.

Is she a ghost or a human? Is she back for good? Does she know Dean and Sam are her sons? So many questions!

Ok, so obviously Sam will not stay dead, but Billie did promise the Winchesters in the beginning of season 11 that when a Winchester dies next, he will stay dead. How is Dean going to get past the Reaper and resurrect Sam?

Why the Men of Letters Would Make Great Villains for 'Supernatural' Season 12

Why It's Better to Go Small

Ever since angels showed up in season 4, Supernatural has had to raise the stakes every season when it comes to its villains. By now the Winchesters have faced Lucifer, Leviathans from Purgatory, the Mother of All Monsters, evil angels, Abaddon and now Amara, God's sister. The problem is that there's nowhere to go but down.

The Darkness is literally all-powerful, present at the dawn of creation alongside her brother God. By definition she's stronger than any monster or demon or creature Sam and Dean have ever faced or will ever face. It would be silly for season 12 to try and top Amara, introducing yet another big, scary monster or demon trying to destroy the world. Nothing the writers could come up with would be scarier or stronger than Amara.

Instead, by introducing the Men of Letters as a principal antagonist, the show is going in the opposite direction. They aren't monsters and while they study the supernatural, they aren't a part of that world. They're just men, just humans. In 11 seasons, Sam and Dean have never really had to deal with a serious human threat unless you count Bela the thief or Gordon the vampire hunter. Instead of giving us another monster, the show is going in the opposite direction with a more personal threat.

The Winchesters Go Rogue

Perhaps the best part of the Men of Letters being the bad guys is that it allows Sam and Dean to become rogue agents. It's a classic story in which the organization they thought they knew and were a part of has turned against them, so they must find a way to save themselves against people who know all of their tricks.

That's also a new twist. For the most part, the Big Bads of Supernatural show up with their own evil plans, relatively unaware of the Winchesters. But as we saw in Lady Toni's basement, the Men of Letters have been observing Sam and Dean for a long time. They know exactly who they are and what they're capable of. And they're not trying to destroy the world, they're trying to stop the Winchesters. This time, it really is personal.

The Show Can Dive Into the Mythology

Sam and Dean first found the Men of Letters bunker in season 8 and it's been their home and the show's main base of operations for four seasons. We've gotten bits and pieces of the organization's history, mostly through time travel, but there's a lot left unexplained. The Men of Letters has always seemed like one of those pieces of the show the writers never fully explored and now they can. There's obviously a hierarchy in place with Lady Toni receiving those phone calls, so season 12 can really dive into what the Men of Letters is.


After 11 seasons of fighting monsters and stopping at least half a dozen apocalypses, Supernatural may have found a way to tell a different kind of story with the Men of Letters. If they're the major villains of season 12, which the finale certainly suggested would be the case, then it's a threat unlike any the Winchesters have faced. They're going up against an institution that knows all about them and which has no apparent interest in destroying the world.

I'm certain the show will continue to have horror elements with cases of the week and various monsters, but the Men of Letters allow the show to evolve into more of an action thriller. The idea of the show being more like a Mission: Impossible or Jason Bourne film gives Sam and Dean something completely different to deal with.

Supernatural’ Season 12 Air Date & Spoilers: Is Lucifer Still Alive? Mary’s Return Affects Sam And Dean?

For instance, fans are wondering whether Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) is really alive or if Dean (Jensen Ackles) was simply dreaming. As seen in the season finale of "Supernatural," Mary suddenly appeared in her nightgown, which was the same as what she wore when she died in season 1.

Several fan theories on "Supernatural" Season 12 also emerged on Reddit where fans discuss the possibility of Dean knowing about Amara and God's existence despite their disappearance in the season finale. Fans are also wondering whether Lucifer is still alive after Amara killed him in the previous episodes.

Even though Collins appears to know nothing about Season 12, he did drop one piece of information that will surely interest fans. "I know one casting thing," the 41-year-old GISHWHES (The Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen) creator admits. "I know one person who's been hired in Season 12, but I can't tell you.

"There was a point in which in an earlier draft — of the season finale — where that question was answered, but that didn't end up making it into the final cut." Clearly, that leaves the door open for Lucifer.

When the hunter refused to acquiesce to her demands, she fired off a round that may or may not have hit Sam off-screen.

“She shot him,” star Jared Padalecki confirmed to TVLine Wednesday night at the Saturn Awards, where he and castmate Jensen Ackles were presenting an award to Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. “I don’t know where, but I know she shot him.”

“What else is new – Sam gets injured,” Padalecki added with a laugh. “At least I’m not getting tortured – yet.”

Amara thanked Dean by giving him what he’s always wanted — Mary, the mother he lost as a child. (BTW, if you thought/hoped Papa John Winchester was going to reappear during those final minutes, Ackles briefly shared your sentiment, “But I knew they couldn’t get Jeffrey Dean Morgan back.”)

“I’m anxious to see how that [surprise return] pans out,” said Ackles, adding that he and Padalecki are meeting with new showrunners Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb later this week. “[My reaction] was kind of like, ‘What’s going to happen now? How is this going to work out?'”

Padalecki was excited by the twist, as well. “I love [Mary’s portrayer] Samantha Smith. So I was like, ‘We get Sam back! That’s awesome!'” he enthused. “My reaction as a fan of the show was, ‘What a cool show to be a part of where we can do that and get away with it.’ [That] and I was just really stoked.”

Dean and Sam’s long-deceased mother, Mary (played by Samantha Smith), made a surprise return in last month’s finale, thanks to Amara. While God’s sister meant to give Dean what he’s always wanted, the younger Winchester also hasn’t seen the woman who gave him life in a very long time. Should the opportunity present itself for another family reunion, does Sam need closure with his mom?

“Not as much as Dean does, because Sam was so young [when she died],” Padalecki tells TVLine. But he believes Sam “would like to get some answers” about his mother, about whom he only “knows a little bit,” courtesy of the show’s trip back in time to when a young Mary (portrayed by Amy Gumenick) was a hunter.

“I think a part of Sam is very curious,” Padalecki says. “He’s a thinker, he’s an intellect. Part of him wants to have some sort of closure with his father, with his mother.”

“Sam is one of these interesting people who feels the void, even if he didn’t ever know it,” he adds. “They say, ‘If you don’t know something, you don’t know what you’re going to miss.’ But I think Sam knows what he’s missing.”

Dean may need to learn to share his BFF, because Padalecki would like “some nice Sam/Castiel scenes,” the actor tells TVLine. “I love Misha [Collins]. I get a lot of Sam/Dean scenes, and I love Jensen, but I love exploring the Sam/Castiel relationship,” too.

Ackles’ wish list is a throwback to the series’ early days — and a world Dean left behind far too quickly.
“Purgatory, I thought, was a really, really cool part of the story,” he shares. “That might be cool to maybe go revisit.”
“I’d also like to see more of a hunter network,” Ackles adds. “I’m a big fan of the original format of the show, the monster-of-the-week kind of thing. [But] I don’t know how we necessarily get back to that with everything that’s happened.”

In the meantime, Ackles is enjoying the “really cool” expansion of the Men of Letters mythology with the introduction of the London chapter in the Season 11 finale. “That’s certainly an avenue we can explore,” he says, “and I think we will.”

Twenty-three episodes [per season] is a long, long shoot, and I usually would direct the first episode that we would film… so it’s basically like sprinting the first several miles of a marathon, which doesn’t really work if you’re a good runner. “Season 12 is actually going to feel like we’re getting back to the show’s roots,” Collins says. “It’s going to feel a lot like earlier seasons of the show, which I’m excited about. And the same really goes for my character in particular.”

After years of speculation, the drama finally confirmed that Chuck Shurley (Rob Benedict)—a prophet who had been writing Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) story—was indeed the Almighty himself. “It was really nice to get it confirmed,” Benedict says. “We’re not guessing anymore. Mom’s comeback “presents a dynamic that we haven’t had in quite a while — or ever,” Jensen Ackles previewed. “When mom left, Sam was a baby and Dean was a child. The children that she knew are now men, so the relationship is kind of nonexistent because there isn’t one. It’s an interesting situation, them trying to bridge that massive gap.”
Since Mary wasn’t around for most of the boys’ lives, “She’s been mythologized to them,” executive producer Andrew Dabb said. “[But] she has a lot in common with them [as hunters]. She’ll be coming back into that.” (It might not necessarily be a happy return to hunting, though. A teaser trailer for Season 12 featured Mary telling Dean, “I never wanted this for you and Sam.”)

Although having a mother “is something they deeply want,” the brothers “more than anybody else understand that family can be a vulnerability” and lead to an attack, the EP continued.
“We find out more about what family means and how you become family,” Jared Padalecki shared. Sam and Dean with their mother are starting anew. Does blood make you family, or is it more than just DNA?”
Castiel, knowing how important Mary is in Dean and Sam’s origin story, also has a “very specific response to her” and “a very cool” bond with her of his own, Dabb previewed. Added his portrayer Misha Collins: “There’s an interesting little dynamic between the two of us because in a way, we’re outsiders.”
For actress Samantha Smith, returning as Mary has been a treat. “There’s a lot to consider — being dead, now alive with a big gap in the middle,” she shared. “My sons are now older and taller than I am…. I’ve always loved Mary and to be able to experience her from a whole different perspective is incredibly fun for me.”

Other highlights from the panel:

* Season 12’s family theme will also be explored via Crowley and Rowena. “There’s a hint that my family dynamic may be returning in a slightly more expanded scale, so I’m looking forward to seeing how that turns out — because it never turns out well,” actor Mark Sheppard said. Ruth Connell, who plays Crowley’s mom, predicted their relationship will go “downhill fast.” As for what the power-hungry witch is after next season, Dabb shared, “She’s gone in a different direction… She’s taking a step back [and asking herself], ‘Is this something I really want to do?'” But of course, “she gets drawn back into” in the mayhem. Meanwhile, Crowley wants “revenge” against Lucifer (hey there, Rick Springfield!) for humiliating him. (The scene with Crowley licking the floor was improvised!)
* On the topic of how you follow up a season featuring God and The Darkness, EP Robert Singer said, “We can’t top all that, so we’re going to try to get back to basics a little bit, tell smaller stories. Some good old-fashioned horror stories.”
* “We find out more about the Men of Letters and their worldwide society,” Padalecki previewed. “We’ll learn more about what she wants for themselves and from Sam and Dean.” But as seen in the Season 11 cliffhanger, in which Lady Toni shot Sam, “They’re not off to a great start.”
* “Cas is back to a little bit Cas from Season 4,” Collins revealed. “He’s got much of his mojo, not all of it. I think his wings are still broken. He’s angry. He’s in a fighting spirit. He’s after Lucifer.”
* Sheriff Jody, Donna, Claire, Alex and Crowley’s son Gavin will all be back.
* When asked about the birthday photo he sent to Padalecki, of their kids as the next generation of hunters, Ackles said his daughter calls Padalecki’s sons not her friends, but “my boys,” so “we might not have a choice in the matter” regarding their offspring continuing “in the family business.”

The brothers’ quest to do just that is complicated by a number of factors. After being shot by Lady Toni in the Season 11 finale, “Sam’s going through hell with the British Men of Letters” who have captured the hunter, executive producer Robert Singer previews. He’s also under the impression that Dean defeated The Darkness and, thus, is dead. “As far as [Sam] knows, the bomb blew up, and that’s what saved the world.”

Adds star Jensen Ackles: Sammy “has no reason to believe Dean would even be coming for him.”

Meanwhile, the elder Winchester is in the dark about his little bro’s whereabouts — but not for long. “Dean’s got to figure out quickly what has happened, where he is, and then it turns into a bit of Taken,” Ackles shares. There’s even a direct shout-out to Liam Neeson’s famous “I will find you” line from the film franchise, the actor reveals.

The good news: That rescue mission “doesn’t take up too many episodes – we get that over with pretty quickly – but they’re action-packed, and all our characters are involved,” Singer says.

And once the Winchesters are reunited, it’s nothing but love. Declares Singer: “They’re happy to see each other.”

Misha: For a long time, I think Castiel has been hampered by one problem or another. His powers are diminished or he’s just feeling so bad about himself because he’s screwed up so badly. So we’re starting off the season with Cas angry and determined to fix things. So we’re staring season 12 with sort of badass Cas, more like he was in season 4. I think for a long time Cas has been kind of broken. For the moment he’s not broken. I don’t think people on our show stay unbroken for very long, but for now he’s angry, he’s badass and he’s on a mission.

Speaking exclusively to VIP Magazine, she said, “I’ve just finished on Supernatural.
“It’s a pretty badass role, but that’s all I can say. Supernatural fans are amazing. They find everything out. You’ve got to be so, super careful about everything.

Rick Springfield Talks 'Supernatural' Gig, Making a Blues Album & 35 Years of 'Working Class Dog' in Billboard

"I play this rock guy who gets possessed by Lucifer, because Lucifer has just escaped from wherever they put him last season," Springfield -- whose recent small-screen gigs include some eccentric characters on Californication and True Detective -- tells Billboard. "He's always looking for a human host to do this bad stuff to the world, and I happen to be that human host. It's really fun, well-written. And the effects are insane; the other day I spent two hours in the makeup chair getting ready for this one scene. It's really incredible stuff."


Springfield has no qualms about being part of another successful TV series. "I'd heard of the show, but I never realized how big it was," he says. "I mean, it's been on for 12 years, and it's worldwide. It's got a giant fanbase. Where have I been?"

“The story’s always been, ‘Once Mary married John and settled down, she stopped hunting,'” showrunner Andrew Dabb says. “But we’re going to find out maybe that’s not the whole story.”

In the present day, Mama Winchester will be haunted by her fiery demise and “the ripple effects” of her death. For starters, it sent her two sons down a hunter path that she didn’t want for them, which is “going to be difficult for her to process,” Jensen Ackles previews.

“Sam blames Dad for all the hunting stuff, but really, you could argue it’s Mom’s fault,” Jared Padalecki points out. “She was the hunter. It was the Campbell family, not the Winchester family. It wasn’t her fault, but it was her lineage that led us to where we are now.”

But rather than focusing on who’s responsible for their current gig, “the boys know that this is their life, this is what they’re good at [and] this is the way they can best help the world,” Padalecki continues. Still, it is a dangerous job, so it’s not surprising that “we’re going to see Sam probably not want his mom to go out and hunt.”
“It’s my mom, man! I don’t want to see her get punched or shot or bit by a vampire!” Padalecki says.

Meanwhile, Dean’s got his own response to Mary’s return, and it ain’t pretty: “If you saw the trailer [at Comic-Con], [his] reaction is done face down in the dirt because she flips him,” Ackles shares. (Good to know death hasn’t dulled Mary’s fighting skills!)
“It’s interesting because, yeah, she’s his mother, but she’s also a stranger,” Ackles adds. “That adjustment is going to be very tricky.”

OK, in one of the Js panels at MinnCon (I forget if it was gold or main panel) Jared said that at some point in the first 5 episodes we will be "seeing" the grenade launcher. He did not seem to be kidding. He didn't say whether they would actually use it, but even a reference to it will crack me up since it gets mentioned by posters (like Alycat!) fairly regularly. So it's not exactly a spoiler, but it will be fun if they even mention it in an episode. Of course, I'm hoping that they actually use the sucker!

'Supernatural' Season 12: What Will Put Sam & Dean At Odds? EP Teases 'Different Reactions' [VIDEO]

"Initially, Sam is in trouble and Dean is extremely driven to save his brother. As this thing becomes more personal, and we come to understand the British Men of Letters and their point of view, our guys will have different reactions," co-showrunner Andrew Dabb told SFX Magazine. "I believe when the cards are down, Sam and Dean are on the same page all the time, which is to do the right thing. But what is the right thing for either one of them is not always agreed upon."

"We don't want to drive an unnecessary wedge between Sam and Dean, and I don't believe Mary will do that, but there will be a difference of opinion and there will be things raised that not everybody is on board with," Dabb teased. "The show revolves around Sam and Dean, and how they react to her is really the core of the seasons."

Supernatural's Mark Sheppard on How Crowley Is Going to Get Back to Hell

Crowley and Billie (Lisa Berry), the soul reaper, appeared to be flirting in the finale. Might something be percolating between them?
She’s taken over for Death [who was killed at the end of Season 10], so she’s a woman who has everything Crowley wants. He’s definitely enamored, so there might even be a relationship! That would be fun. We haven’t had enough of sexy Crowley.

Which was worse for Crowley this season: his mother trying to kill him or Lucifer sadistically making him lick Hell’s floor?
People keep asking, “What does the floor taste like?” My response is, “It’s not the worst floor you’ve ever tasted.” Lucifer putting a dog collar on him was the worst. His mother trying to kill him is just an occupational hazard.

God, aka Chuck Shurley (Rob Benedict), and his destructive sister, Amara (Emily Swallow), made peace in the season finale. Can Crowley and Rowena?
Could be, but you can’t trust her as far as you can throw her. The possibility is always there that they might kill each other given an opportunity. He could fix the Rowena problem, but it’s been quite fun that he hasn’t.


What’s Crowley’s goal next season?
He wants to be in charge. But he has a few overpowering obstacles. Lucifer is the biggest one. He was cast out of Castiel’s (Misha Collins) body, but we don’t know where he went. He could be hiding in plain sight in some new body [That body will look a lot like Rick Springfield, according to casting news from earlier this summer].

If Crowley was unhappy on the throne in Hell, why does he want back in?
That’s his destiny. He likes to pretend he doesn’t care, but he’d be a bit lost without the job. Maybe he’s destined to fail, but it’s so amusing watching him try to regain the throne.

What feedback do Supernatural fans give you?
I spend most of my time knocking Misha, which is fun because of the angel status. They boo and hiss me for that. As for Crowley—it’s that he killed Meg. [Meg, played by both Nicki Aycox and Rachel Miner, was a demon who eventually allied with Castiel and the Winchesters; Crowley ended her in Season 8.]

How do you swindle a man into playing host to the Devil? Well, on Supernatural, it helps to choose a man (or angel) who feels they have nothing left to lose.

Rick Springfield will take on the role of Lucifer's new vessel in season 12, and the Prince of Darkness will play to the rocker's sorrows in order to elicit the big "Yes."

Like Luci's season 4 vessel, Springfield's character will fall under the Devil's sway due to personal tragedy, which puts him "a little bit on the down side." The real-life rocker and Rikki and the Flash star dished on his new role while speaking with Billboard.

Supernatural’ Season 12, Spoilers and News Update: A Different Sam and Dean on a Mission, While Lucifer Plays the Body Thief

"Supernatural" Season 12 is all set to be back this Oct. and, it holds a lot of interesting stuff for fans. Executive producer Robert Singer has revealed exciting details about the upcoming season and said that fans will see a lot more than they expected.

Singer said that the upcoming season will see a different Dean and Sam as they will be more "single-minded" for the mission that they are on. He further stated that for the first time the brothers will be on the same page on "Supernatural" Season 12, even though they will have their share of disagreements and agreements.

The Season 12 of "Supernatural" will be back on the CW from Oct. 13, at 9 p.m

Jensen (spoilers) this season they’re going to “venture into the hunter’s world” the network that exists out there. Not necessarily for a spinoff but just to explore it.
Briana and Kim come on stage and J2 clap for them and give them a nod for Wayward Daughters. Jensen would love to see something more happen from what the show has created. Like maybe a movie, a show inspired by the characters of the show, he wants to see this family continue. Jared agrees.

Jensen says Jared doesn’t have funny shaped toes, they are a second set of hands. You could rip his arms off and he would still get through life fine. Jared says (minor spoilers) you will see his feet in episode two.

In ep 5 (spoilers) there is a scene involving Dean and pie that Jensen and Jared came up with.

Eduardo, the Blair Witch director, is coming back for s12 to do an episode.

Ausiello: Lady Toni Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore) and her brethren across the pond certainly “didn’t start off on the right foot” with the Winchesters, seeing as how she shot Sam in last May’s finale, notes Jared Padalecki. Indeed, as co-showrunner Andrew Dabb explains, “Toni is very against Dean and Sam and has studied them and has very strong opinions about them, [which are] not positive.” That said, Dabb teases that a compromise of sorts may be in the offing seeing as how “there are other people in the British Men of Letters who want to take a different approach [with the Winchesters].”

When talking about his approach to season 12, new showrunner — but longtime writer — Andrew Dabb tells EW that coming off a story as big as God and his sister in season 11, this year is a bit more personal. “It’s about telling smaller stories that impact more of our characters,” Dabb says. “For example, this year, especially toward the middle of the season, we’re using Castiel in stand-alone episodes in a way that he hasn’t been used in a long time.”

Sometimes, they’ll be working against them,” Dabb hints. Meanwhile, the miraculous return of Mama Winchester has the brothers feeling “happy and conflicted” as she adjusts to a world that includes modern technology and angels. “We’re not going to play it heavily in season 12,” showrunner Andrew Dabb says of God and Amara’s story. “I wouldn’t say conclusively that their story is over, but I would say that their story is happening off-screen. God, in a lot of ways, trusts Sam and Dean more than he trusts himself. God has made mistakes. God has caused more destruction with the Amara thing, with the apocalypse and leaving the angels in charge, than Sam and Dean have. They have saved more people than he has, basically. It sure sounds like it. Showrunner Andrew Dabb told Vlada Gelman the goal for Season 12 was “to tell some stories that were a little bit more personal with Castiel, both in terms of his relationship with Sam and Dean and digging into his past a bit.” The angel will also hit it off with another Winchester. “He and Mary have a connection. It’s not a romantic one, but they have a lot in common. They’re both strangers in a strange land, in a way.” And following some very grand celestial plots, “We wanted to focus [Cas] down a bit more,” Dabb explains. “He feels responsible for Lucifer getting out of the cage, although as we’ll learn, pretty much everyone else on our show feels responsible for that, too. Obviously, as threats to Sam and Dean come up, he will be there to stand by our boys’ side.”

But so long as Lucifer’s around, Crowley won’t have full control of hell, and considering Crowley’s main concern is reclaiming his throne, there’s a battle to be had. The twist? Castiel is none too happy with Lucifer after their, er, time together, so season 12 will actually see Cas and Crowley working together.

“Castiel and Crowley have kind of teamed up in season 12 and are working together,” Misha Collins tells EW. And according to both Collins and Mark Sheppard, fans can expect a sort of ’70s sitcom/’80s buddy cop comedy when the duo takes on the once-favorite son of God.

But this is Supernatural, so there’s always a few creative ideas on the table. “You never want to do something conceptual that you’re not going to knock out of the park,” showrunner Andrew Dabb says. “That being said, we have some things that are totally different. We’re working on [an episode] right now that is a little Reservoir Dogs-y. [It’s a] non-linear, interesting approach to a story we’ve never done before.”
