“Supernatural” fans are extremely passionate about the show and must give you a lot of suggestions. In what ways have you taken them into consideration?

Jeremy Carver: We are doing an entire episode in the Impala, that’s going to be Episode 4. You know how the boys decide they are going to do their case and you cut to them in suits walking up? Well, what if you stayed in the car another 10 minutes and watched them talk about what regular people talk about? It’s a very bonding, very real, grounded look at the brothers. That’s something we know the fans wanted, and we love that stuff, too.

PADALECKI: I’ll give you a hint: I am on my way to shoot a car-wash scene.

It’s done in a very clever Supernatural way, mind you, but episode four is a very cool episode,” Jared Padalecki said. “It’s all about the Impala. We’ve had this third lead character for 10 seasons strong and, we’re not revealing a personality, but we see just how much a part of the Winchesters’ lives it is.”

Question: Any scoop on next week’s “Baby” episode of Supernatural? Any bromantic scene we should be looking forward to? —Eleni
Ausiello: TVLine’s resident Supe-heroine Vlada Gelman has seen Wednesday’s anticipated hour and she tells me exclusively because I’m her boss that it’s an “Impala love letter” featuring “a surprise that should delight longtime fans.” She also reports that the hour boasts “several fantastic music cues, a rather poignant talk between the brothers in their beloved car and Baby’s first valet experience!”

Matt: I did and I didn’t. I realized it was a vision. When I read it, I thought that I could be Gabriel, Michael, God, or just a vision of young John. And I wanted all of that to come out.

Lynn: Because it did play very ambiguous, which was clearly how it was supposed to be.

Matt: Right. There are bits and pieces there that I personally made a choice to make myself try to portray Gabriel or try to portray God or try to portray Michael or…

Lynn: There are different times that you seem like each of them. Because I think that was the experience as a viewer, like oh it’s, oh no, maybe it’s…

Matt: And I did that in hopes of a future episode that maybe perhaps one of them will take my body. Maybe Richard’s character uses my body, or for God or John or Michael, or whatever. But I called Robbie when I got the script and I asked him, what do you want me to do with this? And he was like, what do you mean? I said, who am I, what am I – and he said, just play it honestly as young John when he was on the car lot the first time. And that’s kinda what he told me, go up there, have fun and just play it with that real honest naïveté, but you know, you’ve got a message and you want them to hear your message.

Lynn: I did think you were John in the beginning.
Matt: Well, the throwback line is from the episode, with Jensen in the diner, right? You look a little spooked.
Lynn: Yes, yes! And that was such a great moment, I loved that they called back to that.
