Interview with Misha Collins on Cas’s role in Season Ten of Supernatural
The Hollywood Reporter talked with Misha about Cas’s role in the season ten.
When The CW’s Supernatural first introduced the angel Castiel (Misha Collins) in the season four premiere, he was proven immediately important in the overall mythological story arc for the elder Winchester brother Dean (Jensen Ackles). He literally saved Dean from hell, and now, a half-dozen years later, he is still proving to play the same pivotal role.Cas is intimately involved in trying to remove the Mark,” Collins told THR. “It’s definitely shaping up to be a team effort but Cas will be instrumental in ‘de-marking’ Dean.

I guess that with Hannah having returned to Heaven, the rogue angels have been rounded up and returned as well and Cas becomes more involved in saving Dean. So what are your thoughts? Are you glad to see Cas return to Team Free Will? Is it good that Cas again is the one to save Dean? Tell us what you think.
All I could read was
a team effort
and
a team effort
is fine by me. Who ever it may hold. Because those that love Dean wants him cured and there is many in line to help. Most importantly Sam and Castiel. And Cas wanting to help Dean and being a part of that is not a surprise either.

It’s no surprise.. Sam saved Dean from being a demon so Cas has to save him also otherwise Sam might be perceived as having a stronger bond with Dean than Cas does 😉
Hey Kelly. It says team effort, so sounds like Sam saves him with help from Cas. Hey – Cas helped him save him from being a demon too. I am sure Sam will take whatever help he can get to save his brother. Just like Dean would do for Sam.
Cas helped Sam get out of he’ll, but it was dean who got his soul back. Cas helped sam/dean by getting rid of Michael in swan song but it was dean and SAMs love for his brother that enabled Sam to gain control. Cas helped dean too when he was a demon, but it was Sam and his love and perseverance that brought dean home in the first place. It’s only Sam that can reach dean as no other could. If the way to get rid of the mark is along the cosmic route, then of course cas will help …..kind of sensing that metatron might be the key and if that’s the case Sam and dean will definitely need an angel on their side…..but it is Sam and his unwavering love that dean will gain strength from….if dean doesn’t want to fight for himself, he will for Sam. So yes, I too saw that this fight will once again be a team effort…….welcome back team free will
I hope you guys are right.. I think the brothers should be each others stone number one as it were. Cas should be there as support, he has unique powers he can bring to the table. But I think the writers have and are diluting their relationship to avoid upsetting Cas fans to be honest, and this is leading to a lot of hate towards the characters and between fans as people are being teased. They need to keep to the characterisation established early on and stop winding the fandom up.
How do you figure….
The quote that concerns me is….. “but now having to sort of engage a human being on a very personal level (Claire) that doesn’t have anything to do with fighting supernatural forces is very new for him,” he added. “And I think his experience as a human does give him much more empathy and make him want to try a lot harder to make it work.” I do not care to watch Cas struggle to be a father figure to a messed up angry teenager. This plot line is hideously boring and mundane. What? Are Sam and Dean going to help by screening her dates, or telling her more contrived stories about how their Dad set Dean straight when he got drunk as a teen? This cannot possibly be SUPERNATURAL! Please call in the relief writers…..!
