Recap – Ghostfacers Webisode #6
Spruce gets things focused on business once again by showing Maggie and Harry what’s going on with the cameras they have set up around the theater. In one sector, they catch footage of Janet popping up in a mirror then turning and pulling a plug from the camera.
Maggie is excited about the footage, but Harry is even more excited about it, shouting “fan-freaking-tastic!” Ambyr is happy about this news, too, and leaves Ed sitting in the theater seats, looking uncomfortable, to go over and look at the footage. “Yes!” she says. “Is that good?” Harry replies, “Good? It’s the first fully formed spectral humanoid that we’ve seen since the Morton House!” Nice callback there! “Tagged and bagged,” Maggie replies, as she and Harry high-five and then lean in towards each other, lingering just a bit too long.
Harry says the Facers are wrapped and starts handing out jobs for everyone to do for the cleanup, but Ed interrupts Harry’s planning. “I said slow your roll. We’re not going anywhere.” The rest of the group is taken aback by that, so Harry pulls Ed aside to talk to him for a minute. Harry says he knows Ed got hurt and everything, but the team has a confirmed ghostfacing. “We’re the Ghostfacers!” he reminds Ed. But Ed isn’t having any of that. “This thing tossed me around like a Cabbage Patch Doll and it attacked Spruce, all right? We got to get rid of it or at least do something,” he replies. And wow, that is huge, Ed! He’s come a long way from getting high and going into haunted houses trying to film spirits.
Harry, however, isn’t convinced. He wants to know “since when is that our job?” Ed says it’s their job since Corbett died. “Remember Corbett, Harry? He’s dead. Okay? And I’m not gonna let that happen to anyone again. You understand me?”
We cut to an Ed confessional where he admits to sometimes thinking that “Corbett died, and what are we even doing here? Running away is getting lame.” And I’m so glad that Corbett’s death isn’t just brushed aside in favor of more jokes or something, that it’s really caused an emotional change in at least one of the Facers. Good for you, Ed.
Oh, of course you are forgiven, dear Flamey! You’ve given us so much with your posters, so this had to wait a bit… But – it’s never too late, and I’m happy to read this one… Who needs to watch the webisode when we have recaps like this?
Thank you for all the work you put into this! 🙂 Love Jas
Great recap. Love the Facers. When I first watched I was impressed at how much TLC went into those characters and the story. Thanks for the reminder.
One of my favorite moments is when Ed stepped up to the plate. Wow. Just a normal guy (ok, abnormal). Inspiration from Dean maybe?
