The title for episode 1.08 is “Hang On To Your Life.” Since I’ve been looking at song titles as possible clues (it hasn’t been going well so far), the title is a song from the popular 1970’s Canadian band The Guess Who. Feel free to Google the lyrics if you wish, but like the others there are some lyrics there that are quite suggestive to the predicament of the week. That analysis could pop up in my review of the episode, but then again, it may not if it doesn’t go anywhere. Either way, I actually do like The Guess Who, so yay show!
Here is the synopsis courtesy of The CW:
A TIME FOR HEALING – With some intense emotions still lingering after their high stakes recovery mission, Mary (Meg Donnelly) and John (Drake Rodger) stay close to home to watch over a newly returned Samuel Campbell (guest star Tom Welling). When Latika (Nida Khurshid) and Carlos (JoJo Fleites) split off to investigate the death of a musician, Carlos is forced to face a part of his past he has been avoiding. Millie (Bianca Kajlich) spends time helping Samuel recover from his injuries and learns a little more about the Men of Letters. Amyn Kaderali directed the episode written by Nic Chatree Sridej (#108). Original Airdate 01/24/2023. Every episode of THE WINCHESTERS is available to stream on The CW App and CWTV.com the day after broadcast for free and without a subscription, log-in or authentication required.
There are six lovely promo photos. I see drama! I also see Tom Welling!
Here is the promo that aired after the episode in December. It still tells us nothing except for the whole “go team” speech. You be you Samuel!
As an extra teaser, here’s a little something from Facebook from our SPN convention buddies Louden Swain:
Five days until our episode of @thecwwinchesters airs (1/24)! Here are some pics of our hair/makeup experience. The door belies the wonderfully friendly souls that get everyone ready to go! A fantastic experience! More BTS to come! #SPNFamily #thewinchesters
Well, anyone interested about what comes next? Anyone hoping that the pace would start picking up since there are only six episodes left in the season, and possibly the series? Share in the comments. You can come back here too after the episode and share your reaction. All opinions are desired – good, bad and indifferent.
