Although this episode showcased the tragedy of the missing and murdered poor Jane Does of the world, it needed to go further.

The characters needed to acknowledge the travesty and injustice of women like Kaia.

I was hoping for a chastising speech from Jody, but it was unclear if she even knew the details of the kidnapping.                               

 The Winchesters certainly expressed their guilt for her death. 

 

 

 

It wasn’t enough. Here was a momentous opportunity to give voice to an issue the media frequently ignores.

However, a resurrected Kaia lives to see another day so perhaps this issue is not completed.

While Claire shed the old kickass woman trope, Kaia morphed into one.

Possibly one with more depth, and maybe the pending villain instead of the hero.

 

 

There are many women’s issues that the Wayward Sisters series could explore.

And there will be many opportunities for Representation and Diversity of cast .

 

And I get it. You can’t cook without first having some sort of fire. This is the fire.
