The WFB Supernatural Holiday Gift Guide – 2017 Edition!

It’s the day after Thanksgiving, aka “Black Friday” to the whole world.  That can only mean one thing…SHOPPING!  Each year there are more and more riches in terms of Merchandise, Books, and DVDs for the “Supernatural” fan and this year is no exception.  The riches are vast. 

 

For the past couple of years we have done a Holiday Gift Guide, profiling the better “Supernatural” merchandise out there.  This year, we’ve excited and proud to launch the new WFB Supernatural Marketplace!  Lots and lots of “Supernatural” items that are a must for any fan, all in one convenient spot for your reference.   WFB’s new Marketplace will be constantly updated as new “Supernatural” merchandise hits the market so you can use it for yourself, friends and family 365 days of the year now! It is easily accessed through the top menu on every WFB site page by going to Fandom=> Marketplace, or select the Marketplace icon in the middle of the page.

 

So how does it work?  No, we haven’t become a reseller.  We won’t be filling your orders.  But we have often been asked the best place to get items or have been contacted by companies/small independent shops that have a new item to promote.  We have been profiling many of these new items through our Amazon ads or Weekly World News features (formerly Bits and Pieces).  Needless to say, they’ve been easily lost in the articles after publication.  There’s also the fact that we’ve gotten some really cool toys ourselves and just have to share how wonderful they are.  With our new site design, a Marketplace became a must.  

 

On our new Marketplace page, we list the items, you just click on the ones of interest and it’ll take you to the proper online retailer where you can order.  The page is divided into categories currently; Books, DVDs, Merchandise, Games, and Staff Picks.  

 

Since there are too many items to showcase for our big “Black Friday” launch today, I’m going to share some info about our “Staff Picks”, aka what the stuff thought was a must for each fan to have this season.  

 

For Books, one cannot go without a copy of “Family Don’t End with Blood.”  It is edited by our dear friend Lynn Zubernis (Fangasm SPN), but it features a chapter written by our own Nightsky!  It also has many great chapters from all sorts of SPN talent.  Also, a portion of the proceeds will go to Misha Collin’s charity Random Acts and Attitudes in Reverse.  Here’s the full description:

Since we’re into custom items, another great retailer, of whom our own Nate Winchester is a big fan, is Custom Funko Pops.  They were on our recommended list and then on Wednesday the shop was temporarily closed for holiday sales.  She needs to catch up on the high demand.  We recommend going to the site and looking at photos of her work in the comments.  Once they reopen, you’ll have a good idea of the craftsmanship that goes into each Pop figure.  

 

 

Another big fave of Nate Winchester’s is Supernatural: The Animation Series.  We have done reviews of this series before on this site and highly recommend seeing how well “Supernatural” adapts to anime.  It’s just the right amount of darkness.  The DVD can be found at amazon.com.  

 

Nate and Alice both are especially fond of the Impala replicas that have hit the market.  This one though, from Greenlight, is pretty sweet for a “Supernatural” fan.  This one just isn’t a die cast car of a black impala.  No, this has a trunk that opens with a Devil’s trap inside and a box of weapons!  The inside detailing too mirrors Baby’s style.  I have one and it’s pretty awesome.  It is a 1:24 model in terms of size.  This also can be purchased at amazon.com

 

 

Another item out there, although pretty small, is a silver Impala keychain.  I’m partial to it since I got an Impala keychain when I bought the Season Five DVD when it came out.  This is like that.  The Impala is heavy and sturdy and makes a great conversation piece for any keychain or backpack.  This can be purchased at amazon.com.
