Caption This! #432 aka The Parallels Game
The Countdown keeps moving along! Nate posted a fun screenshot to caption for #431, and judging by the entries you all embraced the possibilities. I was very entertained. I did have a very hard time picking a winner, but in the end, I went with the clever one line quip that captured the moment perfectly. Congratulations Marion!
For this week’s contest, I’m going in a different direction. One thing that seems to be inevitable is any show featuring former Supernatural cast or crew loves to sneak in those shout outs and parallels! Countdown totally went there in episode 1.07. Mark’s workout hanging from the rafters was strangely reminiscent of Sam’s workout in “The Third Man,” but it was Meachum’s trip to the bathroom that totally nailed the Supernatural parallel! How many times did we see Sam and Dean washing their faces at the sink, lamenting over some physical or mental dilemma? The one that came to mind instantly was Sam’s painful vision in “Simon Said”.

So, for this week’s contest, I’m calling it parallels! The screencap for Countdown is the one for the game, but consider the Supernatural cap a bonus. Call it extra credit if you wish. How would you caption what these characters are going through? Or maybe something silly that they’re thinking. Or maybe something silly that you’re thinking while watching them. I’m very curious to see where you all go with this!
