“Pretty Little Liars” actress Kara Royster has booked a guest role in Season 12 of The CW’s “Supernatural,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Saying farewell to a fallen hunter involves more than just your typical salt and burn. From John to Bobby to Charlie, Supernatural's Sam and Dean have grieved on their own, finding solace around a blazing pyre in the middle of nowhere. In Season 12, however, the Winchester boys will join their fellow demon slayers at a hunters wake.

In a previous answer, you mentioned that you had purposely adopted some of Jensen’s mannerisms … can you give us any examples?

Well, I’m trying, I don’t know how good a job I am doing … I thought it would be interesting to try.

Well, what have you tried? Because you definitely have the walk down pat.

Well, what’s funny is that’s one thing I didn’t try! I think it was subconscious; I don’t know. But you know, the way he stands, or crosses his arms, or facial expression, or a turn of a phrase that he likes to use, things like that. Little things that I notice in my son in real life, that he gets from me or my husband. Some times they’re behavioral, but some times I think those things are genetic. So it was just interesting to have them interspersed throughout without being over the top.

I read in a previous interview that you are a Supernatural fan yourself – what was your favorite episode from Season 11?

Baby, for sure. Although I’d have to say Blush was pretty good as well. And Just My Imagination! There was a lot of good ones last season.

Tell us about your character.

A cool thing about Asa Fox is that after 12 seasons he is the first Canadian hunter on the show! He’s a badass, well-respected and likable guy within the hunter community. Without giving anything away, I go through numerous wardrobe changes and aging makeup. In fact, the wonderful wardrobe people told me that I had the most changes for any character in one episode. The makeup artists on that show are incredible; I wore a beard and a cool scar which is always fun as an actor and helped me get into playing a character over the span of 20 years.

Do you have any behind-the-scenes stories you can share?

In this episode, I worked with well-known director John Badham who is known for directing films such as Saturday Night Fever, War Games, Short Circuit, Stakeout, the list goes on. He shared so many interesting behind-the-scenes stories of actors and scenes he had shot over the years. As a lifelong fan of film, this was such a treat for me to hear these stories and learn from someone with so much experience. He told me a funny story about a make-out scene that I can’t mention, but let’s just say they aren’t easy for big celebrities either. Supernatural is such a fun set to be where they have created a bizarre world of make believe. Between takes, I saw a werewolf trying to get reception on his cellphone in the middle of the woods. Just another day at the Supernatural office. I just love this industry!

Do you have any behind the scenes stories to share?

Mark Brandt (who plays “Bucky”) and I had a great chat with Jensen Ackles in between set ups. Jensen was telling us about how the family atmosphere amongst cast & crew has been key to the longevity of the series, now going on 12. They like to keep everything on the positive. Kim Rhodes was also great as she likes to joke around and make people laugh during rehearsals. That really helps to loosen up everyone involved before they shoot.
