Dean will be back after a couple of episodes (?three), but we will continue to have Michael present in the story through flashbacks to what he did while possessing Dean. There will also be after effects of the possession on Dean.

"[Jody Mills] is back very early on because she becomes a part of the initial action," he told TV Guide.

Now that Michael is walking around in Dean's (Jensen Ackles) body and Sam (Jared Padalecki) has been charged with leading the Apocalypse World hunters, the brothers could use all the help they can get. And with nine seasons of demon-fighting under her belt, there's no one more qualified for the job than Sheriff Mills. However, her return might not be all about saving the Winchesters.

After all, the Wayward Sisters backdoor pilot left some major questions unanswered, namely the mystery of Kaia's (Yadira Guevara-Prip) darker clone who showed up right after her death in Monster World. According to showrunner Andrew Dabb, the upcoming season will tie up those loose ends while also remaining true to the Supernatural format.

"There were a lot of things floating out there that happened at the end of the 'Wayward Sisters' episode we plan to address in the core of Supernatural, but do so in a way that feels like a part of our Supernatural mythology. It's not just like we're going over to Wayward town for a week. It all dovetails together in a very cool way," Dabb explained.

With the Wayward Sisters poised to return next season, there's no one more excited to have them back than the Winchesters themselves, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. "[Jody Mills] is very important to the brothers so having them back and having that female presence, I think it's always a positive thing. It's always a good thing to have," said Ackles. Added Padalecki, "They are great ladies and I think they bring a great new facet to Supernatural so I'm thrilled to have them back."

Colleen Bement: You play the role of Spencer in next week’s “Supernatural” episode ‘The Scar’ and you’ve been on “Supernatural” before. I know you can’t share much about the episode, but please tell us about your experiences on the set.

Warren Abbott: I was fortunate enough to book one of my first roles out of theatre school on the series. It was a tiny role but I was still honored to be part of such a widely successful show. Luckily they brought me back but as a different character this time around. I can’t say much but I play an Alternate Universe Hunter. It was an amazing experience to work with Jared and Jensen and the whole vibe on the set was surreal.

CB: Do you happen to be a fan of the show? Are you at all into the paranormal?

WA: I’ve always known of the series but never actually watched it until my first audition. I have to admit that I kinda fell in love with it and watch every now and then. And yes, I definitely believe in paranormal activity!

CB: I love the show “Travelers” and from everything I’ve read, I think it is coming back in 2019. I show that you are going to be in episode 10, is that right?

WA: That is correct! I play a traveler in the last episode of the upcoming season. Again, I can’t say much but it’s definitely an episode you won’t want to miss! The entire cast was extremely warm and welcoming. I was also fortunate enough to be directed by Amanda Tapping, who was my “Stargate SG-1” crush. That part I’m still trying to process!

CB: What other projects do you have in the works that you are allowed to tell us about?

WA: I’m currently in a TV Movie called “Girl in the Bathtub” which is airing on Lifetime. You should check it out! It’s starring Jason Patric and Caitlin Stasey and is based on a true story.

CB: Tell your fans about your other interests. Music? Sports?

WA: Before I started acting, I was a professional mechanic so that will always be my first love. I’m also an avid snowboarder and wakeboarder. As for music, I’ll listen to anything from Hip-Hop to Electro to Oldies but lately, I can’t seem to get enough of Leon Bridges. That man’s voice just gives me all the feels!
