Well, well, some former "Supernatural" producers and staff have certainly gotten somebody's attention today!  The nominees for the 73rd annual Emmy Awards were announced today and Eric Kripke and company found themselves on one very prestigious list for their work on season two of "The Boys," Outstanding Drama Series!  The show received five nominations in total.  Other nominations included Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series ("What I Know" by Rebecca Sonnenshine), Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics ("Never Truly Vanish" co-written by former SPN music director Christopher Lennertz), Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series, and Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season or Movie.

Kripke was a bit stunned by the honor, telling The Wrap, “I never expected this at all. I mean, at the end of the day, I was really hoping we’d get some technical Emmys, because my team is just doing incredible work. And that’s what I wanted. This would have been a great day if we’d gotten two or three technical Emmys. So then, when this all happened, I just realized that I’m the biggest Emmy nominee cliché.”

The Wrap article also has some great quotes from Eric Kripke about Jensen's appearance on season three of the show, which is filming right now.  He mentions that they have two episodes left to finish the season.  Kripke also promises more subtle nods to "Supernatural" in season three.

There's more great news though!  Former "Supernatural" writer/co-producer Steve Yockey also did very well in the nominations list.  "The Flight Attendant" earned nine nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series.  He also earned a nomination for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.  Kaley Cuoco earned a Best Actress nod, Rosie Perez earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and the show was also nominated for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program, Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Single Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.

As for other "Supernatural" alums,
Sterling K. Brown is nominated for Lead Actor in a Drama Series "This Is Us" and Outstanding Narrator for "Lincoln: Divided We Stand".
Leslie Odom Jr. is nominated for Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for “Hamilton”.
Jeremy Carver's "Doom Patrol" is nominated for Outstanding Stunt Coordination.
"The Mandalorian", featuring "Supernatural" alum Emily Swallow in a supporting role, is also in the running for Best Drama as well as numerous other technical awards.

So "Supernatural" alums have covered several major award categories of the Emmys!  Congrats to those teams as well!

As you can imagine, there were plenty of tweets sharing the good news.  We have a few below:
