Aldis Hodge: From Supernatural To A SAG Award
Aldis Hodge (Jake) was part of the cast of Hidden Figures.
Tonight, January 29, 2017 the cast of that movie won the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) award for “Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture”.
Hidden Figures has been a surprise breakout film. In its first week of wide release, the movie sprung to the top of the box office, unseating Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as the number one film for the week of January 6-12. It remained the number one movie through January 19.
This was not the first award that the entire cast has won. The film received the Ensemble Performance Award at the 2017 Palm Springs International Film Festival.
The cast was commended in this review.

Hidden Figures tells the story of a group of African-American female mathematicians who provided the calculations to launch the firrst manned missions into space. Aldis and the rest of the cast have taken part in special screenings of the movie to encourage girls to pursue science and math.
Hidden Figures has been nominated in the Best Picture category for this year’s Academy Awards. The SAG win increases its chances of winning that Oscar.
