It’s been a while so I thought I’d pulled out four more episode titles from my trusty Tupperware container and put my thoughts on each. What are your thoughts on the following episodes? Is it a scene, a moment, a line or song? And why? It is your favourite or is it the emotional impact it has on you? Maybe it simply makes you laugh or hide under the covers?
All Hell Breaks Loose Part I
With this episode I have two scenes that I always think of. First is when Dean and Bobby are searching for Sam and Dean gets a vision. I really liked that Dean got experience and share what Sam had been going through with these visions.
Bobby: What was that?
Dean: I don’t know. Headache.
Bobby: Do you get headaches like that a lot?
Dean: No, no, must be the stress. I could have sworn I saw something.
Bobby: What do you mean, like, like a vision? Like what Sam gets?
Dean: What? No!
Bobby: I’m just saying.
Dean: Come on! I’m not some psychic.
(Dean then gets hit with another vision, nearly collapsing him against the car.)
Bobby: Dean? Are you with me?
Dean: Yeah, I think so. I saw Sam, I saw him Bobby.
Bobby: It was a vision.
Dean: Yeah, I don’t know how, but yeah. That was about as fun as getting kicked in the jewels.
Bobby: What else did you see?
Dean: Ah, there was a bell.
Bobby: What kind of bell?
Dean: Uh like a big bell with some kind of engraving on it. I don’t know
Bobby: An engraving?
Dean: Yeah.
Bobby: Was it a tree? Like a Oak tree?
Dean: Yeah exactly.
Bobby: I know where Sam is.
The second one of course is the last scene. From when Sam hears Dean calling him and he calls back with ‘Dean’. He was so happy and relieved to hear his brothers voice. Then when Jake stabs him and Dean screams out ‘No!’ and runs to Sam, grabbing hold of him, talking to him, trying to convince Sam and himself that everything is going to be okay. As Sam succumbs in Dean arms seeing Dean trying to will his own life back into him, it just tears me apart each time I see it.
Long Distance Call
I have two scenes with this one. The first is the guide at the Thomas Edison Museum, the way she uses her ‘Quoting’ fingers and her ‘And we’re walking, we’re walking.'
The second is the brotherly moment we get at the end of the episode. The way they sit on the end of each of their beds and have their heart to heart. I know I’m a sucker when it comes to these heart to heart moments.

Dean: I see they improved your face.
Sam: Yeah right back at ya.
Dean: So Crocotta huh?
Sam: Yep.
Dean: That would explain the flies.
Sam: Yeah it would. Hey um look I’m sorry it wasn’t dad.
Dean: No, I gave you a hell of a time on this one.
Sam: A huh.
Dean: No you were right.
Sam: Forget about it.
Dean: I can’t. I wanted to believe so badly that there was a way out of this. I mean I’m staring down the barrel at this thing. You know hell, for real, forever. And I’m just…
Sam: Yeah?
Dean: I’m scared Sam. I’m really scared.
Sam: I know.
Dean: I guess I was willing to believe anything. You know, last act of a desperate man.
Sam: There’s nothing wrong with having hope Dean.
Dean: No! Hope doesn’t get you Jack Squat. I can’t expect Dad to show up with some miracle at the last minute. I can’t expect anybody to, you know? And the only person that can get me out of this is me.
Sam: And me.
Dean: And me?
Sam: What?
Dean: Deep revelation, having a real moment here, that’s what you come back with? And me!
Sam: Do you want a poem?
Dean: Moment's gone. (turns on the TV) Unbelievable!
Dean then reaches into a cooler beside the bed and pulls out two beers handing one to Sam.
The Man Who Would Be King
With this episode it is all the scenes where Castiel is relating his story to God and us while sitting on the bench in the snow. His pleading to God to answer him on whether he is making the right choices really tugged at my heartstrings.

"You know I’ve been here for a very long time. I remember many things. I remember being at a shoreline watching a little grey fish heave itself upon the beach and an older brother saying ‘don’t step on that fish, Castiel. Big plans for that fish’ I remember the Tower of Babel, all 37 feet of it, which I suppose was impressive at the time. And when it fell they howled ‘Devine Wrath’ But come on, dried dung can only be stacked so high. I remember Cain and Abel, David and Goliath, Sodom and Gomorrah. And of course I remember the most remarkable event. Remarkable because it never came to pass. It was averted by tow boy, an old drunk and a fallen angel. The grand story, and we ripped up the ending and the rules and destiny leaving nothing but freedom and choice. Which is all well and good except… But what if I’ve make the wrong choice. I mean how am I supposed to know? I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you my story. Let me tell you everything. My interest was conflicted. I still considered myself the Winchester guardian, after all they taught me how to stand up. What to stand for and generally happens to you when you do. I was done, I was over. And then the most extraordinary thing happened. I was put back and we had won. We stopped Armageddon, but at a terrible cost. And so I knew what I had to do next. Once again I went to harrow hell to free Sam form Lucifer’s cage. It was nearly impossible but I was so full of confidence of mission. I see now that was arrogance, hubris because of course I hadn’t truly raised Sam, not all of him. Sometimes we’re lucky enough to be given a warning. This should have been mine. So that’s everything. I believe it’s what you would call a tragedy from the human perspective, but maybe the human perspective is limited. I don’t know. That’s why I’m asking you Father. Once last time am I doing the right thing? Am I on the right path? You have to tell me. You have to give me a sign. Give me a sign, because if you don’t I’m gonna just… I’m gonna do whatever I ….whatever I must."
The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo
With this episode it is the scene when Sam and Dean are in the surveillance van talking Charlie through her mission of getting into Dicks office. While Charlie is waiting for the brothers to give her the go ahead Dean spots Bobby’s flask in her bag.
Dean: Charlie, its Dean. Are you singing?
Charlie: I sing when I’m nervous. Don’t judge me.
Dean: Judgment-free zone. Listen um check the side pocket in your bag.
Charlie: (looks and see’s the flask) Oh thank you (she takes a swig) Good idea.
Dean: Yeah, no problem. Look that’s a kind of family heirloom. It’s a good luck charm, so don’t lose it.
Charlie: Copy that. Okay let’s do this. (she freezes)
Dean: Ah Charlie.
Charlie: I’m having a hard time moving.
Dean: You can do this.
Charlie: Uh, I’m not a spy. No I can’t do it, I can’t do it. I can’t do it.
Sam: Charlie, hey it’s Sam.
Charlie: I’m sorry Sam I just….
Sam: It’s okay. Uh listen, who’s your favourite Harry Potter character?
(Dean looks at Sam in disbelief, while Sam looks back at him a little embarrassed.)
Charlie: Uh Hermione.
Sam: Hermione. Well did Hermione run when Sirius Black was in trouble? Or when Voldemort attacked Hogwarts? Dean: Seriously?
Sam: Shut up.
Charlie: No of course not.
Sam: What did she do?
Charlie: She kicked ass. She actually saves Harry in practically every book. Then she ends up with the wrong… Sam: Uh stay on track. So she kicked ass right? So what are you gonna do?
Charlie: I’m gonna kick it in the ass.
Sam: Good girl.
Dean: You go Dumbledork!

Charlie goes in and makes it to Dick’s Office floor but runs into the security guard.
Dean: Good. You’re gonna walk up to him and you’re gonna flirt your way past.
Charlie: I can’t. He’s not my type.
Dean: You’re gonna have to play through that.
Charlie: As in he’s not a girl!
Dean: Oh.Oh! Pretend he has boobs.
Charlie: Worse.
Dean: I don’t know, uh do you have any tattoos? Give him a sneak peek there. All tattoos are sexy.
Charlie: Mine is Princess Leia in a slave bikini straddling a twenty-sided die. I was drunk. It was Comic-con.
Dean: We’ve all been there. Okay I’m gonna talk you through this. Let’s start with a smile. Relax Charlie you just hot home and Scarlett Johansson is waiting for you.
Charlie: Ooh (She smiles)
Security Guard: Can I help you miss?
Charlie: Hey Bill, Charlie from IT.
Security Guard: Oh burning the midnight oil huh?
Charlie: Just like you. I mean when you’re not at the gym. Do you work out with all your free time?
Security Guard: Yeah I try to hit the gym at least three days a week. Just trying to get back to my fighting weight. Dean: It shows. You look amazing. (Dean looks at Sam). This never happened.
Charlie: It shows, you look amazing.
Dean: Do you ever do anything else with your free time? Like take a girl for a drink?
Charlie: Do you ever do anything else with your free time? Like .. Sam starts giggling
Dean: Stop laughing Sammy.
Charlie: Stop laughing Sammy. Um you don’t know that bar? Stop Laughing Sammy? That place is bringing sexy back.
Dean: Stop talking Charlie.
Charlie: Stop talking Charlie, right. So you were saying about going out? Drinks?
Security Guard: Uh yeah that would be great.
Charlie: Cool. Pencil that in. Hey can I ask a favour? The ladies room down stairs is nasty. Can I use the Exec Washroom to powder my nose?
Security Guard: Yeah, why not? Um right down the hall, first door on the right.
(Charlie chuckles and winks as she walks by him and turns around the corner.)
Charlie: I feel dirty.
Dean: You and me both sister.

Comments
The Big Reveal- Sammy learns he has Demon blood in him. The little talk he and Azazel have about Sam's destiny. Sam discovers why Azazel killed Jess and his mom.
SAM: What about my mom?
AZAZEL:That was bad luck.
SAM: Bad luck?
AZAZEL:She walked in... on us, wrong place wrong time.
SAM: What does that mean?
AZAZEL: It wasn'??t about her, it was about you, its always been about you.
"it's always been about you." Best liine, right there.
It's the start of everything. Sam's world changing, his realizations... As the scene runs through, the range of emotions that Sam displays. (Well played by Jared, btw) His anger and fear, to surprise, disbelief and grief. Breaks my heart.
The final scene in the episode is my second favorite, like you.
Dean: (to Sam as he's dying, seeing the wound) Look at me. It's not even that bad. It's not even that bad, alright? Sammy? Sam! Hey! Listen to me. We're going to patch you up, okay? You'll be as good as new. Huh? I'm gonna take care of you? I'm going to take care of you; I've got you, that's my job, right? Watch after my pain in the ass little brother. (realizes Sam is already dead) Sam? Sam? Sam?! Sammy?! No. No, no, no, no. Oh no come on. Oh God. (pulls Sam's body against his and yells) SAM!
Just reading the damn quote makes me tear up!
I had to re-watch this epi so I could write about my favorite scenes. I am going to watch the next two as well so I can talk about them, too. This is fun. Especially the part where I break down into tears.lol.

I love Castiel 's scene and monologue. Especially the part about stepping on that little fish.
And the scene when we first meet Charlie and shes in the elevator and sneakily looks about and then begins dancing wildly to one of my favorite songs. She doesn't seem to completely understand that since the elevator is glass -sided, anyone can see her doing that.

Long Distance Call-
Sam. Sam was my favorite thing about this episode. He looked really, really good...
So yeah, completely shallow, but you know... Sometimes that's just me. :)

All Hell Breaks Loose Part I-
When Sam picks up the crowbar to bash Jakes' head in and then drops it. For me, that was the moment that defined him, that set him apart from "all the other children like him".
Long Distance Call-
Dean sitting up all night waiting for "Dad" to call. We really hadn't seen desperation from him about the hell situation. Ironically, it took his Dad "coming back" to allow him to panic and freakout (finally).
The Man Who Would Be King -
When Castiel slipped up about the Superman reference. The look of relief that had been on Dean's face in the seconds previously, to the utter shock at the betrayal which flashed in his eyes before he had to masked it from Castiel. You could tell something broke in him.
The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo -
Dean's panic when it is learned that the location of "baby" is on Frank's hard drive that is being hacked.
Also, sadly to learn that Frank is dead. I liked Frank.
Lastly, "Kinda like the little sister you never wanted" says Dean about Charlie.

This is a really great episode and I wouldn't be able to pick a scene or two as favorites.
Like you, Karen, Cas speaking to God really tugs at your heart. I hate that he gets no answer.
A few lines from the show stick out to me-
Crowley: “You know the difference between you and me? I know what I am. What are you, Castiel? What exactly are you willing to do?”
Cas: If I would have known then, what I know now, I might have said: "It's Simple. Freedom is a length of rope, and God wants you to hang yourself with it."
Cas: “The worst part was Dean trying so hard to be loyal with every instinct telling him otherwise.”
Dean: “I’m not gonna logic you, OK? I’m saying don’t, just cuz. I’m asking you not to. That’s it. Next to Sam, you and Bobby are the closest things I have to family. You are like a brother to me. So if I’m asking you not to do something, you gotta trust me.”

Long Distance Call - I definitely think of the Crocotta opening his mouth to feed on Sam. Ugh. That made me squirm.
The Man Who Would Be King - Castiel's monologue is a particular hightlight. I also often think about the scene where Cas is watching Dean rake leaves, and deciding not to burden him with the problems he's having. If only he'd shown himself to Dean and asked for help. How much tragedy could have been avoided?
The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo - I just think of all the little things that make Charlie who she is. Her deftness with computers, her Sting replica from Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potter stuff, her fidgetiness. I like her quirkiness.

All Hell Breaks Loose I--I have to go with Dean holding on to a dead Sammy. But I also like the beginning of the episode at the diner--there was some nice tunes, banter between the boys and then it got real creepy.
Long Distance Phone Call--I like the scene where Dean is sitting by the phone waiting for the call from what he thinks is Dad. His figgityness really sells me on how scared he is and I think he knows it all seems hinky, but he wants it to be real. I also really like Dean's fight scene here--he sets everything up and is convinced this guy is a demon, then the turn.
The Man Who Would Be King--I like just about any of the stuff with Dean trying so hard to believe Cas. The part where they trap Cas in holy fire though is particularly great. Another stand out would be the scene where Dean tries to convince Bobby and Sam that they have to be wrong about Cas--I just love how hard Dean is trying and then Sam just up and prays to Cas. I like it when they banter, but I also love it when they just support each other.
