"Freaks and Geeks" was directed by John Showalter, and there are some great visuals in this episode.  Come and take a look!

1.

This was a really cool location.  So romantic for making out, too.  Not really, but I'm guessing there probably isn't much to do in that part of Kansas.  No offense to Kansas.

2.

This show just made me wonder if Sam and Dean get a little nervous going into police departments still or if they are just so used to it they don't care.  I mean, I have never done anything wrong my entire life, and I get nervous when I see a cop.

3.

I like the framing on this shot, through the hallway.  And Sam's "serious FBI head lean-in" is great.

4.

Baby just looks kind of pretty in this shot.  Also, Dean should never wear a white dress shirt again.  That gray ensemble was fantastic.

5.

I like this shot a lot, but I'm calling foul on her using her real name on the college I.D.  Really?  You'd think Victor would have taught them better than that.

6.

Here's another really well-framed shot through a hallway.

7.

Oh, hey there, brooding Dean in the shadows.  Don't mind if I do.

8.

It's too bad that power line is running through the shot, but that can't be helped.  This is a really cool house.  And it comes with its own smoke machine!

9.

I don't know why, but this shot of Sam and Dean barely peeking over the hedge delights me.  It looks like they're getting swallowed by shrubbery.  Nih!

10.

Sam looks SO hilarious here.  "Okay, Sam, play it cool.  Play it cool.  Blend in.  How would a suburbanite act?"

11.

Baaaaaaaaby, look how pretty you look under the streaming lights and the trees and the fog.

12.

Dean in the mirror is a great shot.  Really neat.  And very effective.

13.

This is in here because in all these years the show has been on the air, I never noticed until this shot that the side mirrors on baby have a Chevy logo on the back of them.

14.

This is the opposite of the Dean in shadows shot.  It's Sam in the light.  Which, considering their histories is kind of a neat juxtoposition.  Also, as a random aside, I accidentally typed "Deran" instead of "Dean" and it made me realize how awful it would have been if his name was Deran.  Deran is a fine name, that's not what I mean, but it just sounds wrong.

15.

Baby in ths woods!  The Lodge set was very moody and atmospheric.  Glad that wasn't shot at night, though, because it would have been terrifying.

16.

Seriously, look at this place!  So creepy.

17.

Sam is 1000% done with this shit.

18.

Don't mind the giant bloodstain on the wall, miss vampire.  We'll get you healed up in no time.  What?  No, there aren't any other rooms in the house we can use instead of giant bloodstain room.  Why do you ask?

And there we have it!  This was a good-looking episode, wasn't it?  What did you think of the visuals?

While this was an average as far as MOTW episodes go, IMO the visuals / lighting work / camera work was great, and has been all season.

Great pics! Thanks so much. Although I beg to differ on one small point - while I agree Dean looks great in the gray, COME ON - he looks great in everything, including white. Every color and circumstance works on that guy!

After 8 seasons of Dean in suits, I have decided to start being picky! =)

There are some nice visuals here, I am particularly enjoying all the Impala shots. [edit]

:D Thanks Ardeospina

I guess my comment came across wrong. I wasn't saying the shots were not creepy, just that my back yard looks like that, fog and all, sometimes. Creepy!

Thank you Ardeospina. I love all the pics and especially those of Baby and the captions were spot on. I didn't notice the blood spatter on the wall in that one pic. I don't recall ever noticing the logo on the back of the mirrors either. Now I'm gonna have to go back to some other eps and check this out.
As for Dean in gray, I was thinking the same thing when I was rewatching for the upteenth time. It was nice to see him in a different shade than white and I also noticed that for Sam last episode when he had a light blue I think it was. I'll have to go back and verify that one. Of course I also agree with Grace232 that that man looks good no matter what color or outfit he is wearing (or not wearing for that matter). Sorry had to throw that one in.
That Lodge scene could be anywhere USA that has trees and greenery. I grew up in PA and can recall visiting someone that had a driveway that went way through the woods like that but the house it opened up to was no where near as creepy looking as this one did.

Yeah, I feel like I want to go back through pictures and see if I can see the logo on the mirrors, too!

Thanks Ardeospina! Beautiful shots as usual. Serge LaDouceour really is a genius....there 's some very nice moody pics. I really like the one of Sammy and his green, green eyes. At least they look green in that shot, Jared's eyes change color at the drop of a hat, so that day it was green I guess. I also love his half exasperated, half pissed off look at being tied to a chair. Love me some tied up Sammy.

I wasn't thrilled with this episodes, so your visuals lends me a bit of enjoyment in it that I didn't get from watching.

Hi Ardeospina
Great choice of pictures. I love the contrast pics of Sam and Dean however my favourites are #8, I really like that house and #15 I have been down many a country road like that from years of camping.

Loved your pick of pics. Speaking of Dean in gray (yum), do the guys donate their older clothes to the needy to make room in the Impala for the new beautiful clothes? Or do they rent storage lockers all over the country just for their clothes? :D

Thanks, Ardeospina! It's a great visual episode and you chose great images. I especially liked 17. Ha, the look on Sam's face was priceless. I hadn't noticed that before.

And yeah, creepy is creepy with some location shots.

I know we're supposed to not think of these things, but that bugs me, too. would have rather seen them move closer to Garth. even that would be more believable.

Sam tied to the chair was probably the best part of this episode for me. Just his reaction shots alone were worth sitting through the thin plot.

The visuals of this episode were great and Serge LaDouceour has made the best of his locations all season. I agree, he is quite a genius at what he does.

Hi Ardeospina, these were some great shots!
I also have never noticed the logo on the mirrors. That's pretty cool.
That note you made about spelling Dean's name wrong reminded me of a conversation between fans a while ago about Dean Moriarty and Sal Paradise, the chracters Sam and Dean were kinda named after from On The Road. We were all talking about how glad we were that Kripke used Sam instead of Sal, because it would have been weird to have Dean calling him Sally all these years!

Loved this Ardeospina - love picture 17 and Sam's hand gesture when Dean walks in . . . I agree that the lodge in 16 was creepy but it reminds me of the one "huh?" moment I had watching this show. Your brother has informed you that the young hunters are on another hunt and you just found out that the vampire you are hunting has visited a lodge nearby so you go to check it out . . . but wait a minute, you're in your FBI suit so you stop and change clothes before going? It just made me laugh.
