It's been another banner day for our special moose.  Today he ran in and completed the Austin marathon.  He finished in 3:47:50.  Pretty damn good!

Here's some of the relevant action that was captured on Twitter today (click here for all the details).

I just saw this come across my Variety alerts and I must say, this was a shock to me!  The female lead for Jared's next project, "Walker," has been found and it is another CW compadre who has also spent the last several years in Vancouver.  One who I'm familiar with.

Lindsey Morgan, who plays Raven in the long running CW show "The 100," will be playing Micki, Cordell Walker's partner, according to Variety.  Here's the blurb about her character per the article:

Morgan will play Micki, Walker’s new partner who was born and raised in San Antonio. Described as focused and perceptive, her family has been in Texas since before it was Texas. She’s been in the Army and on the police force and knows first-hand what it’s like to be singled out and discriminated against because of her gender.

I've got to say, I'm really excited for Lindsey on this. I've met her before and interviewed her twice when I was doing coverage for "The 100" for TV For The Rest of Us.  This is a big move up for her, going from supporting character to lead.  This is certainly well deserved, but I'm dying to know how she and Jared will do together.  I've been watching both these actors for years and I'm having a hard time picturing them both together.  A mash up of two of my favorite shows!  Lindsey is an amazing actress though and I'm sure she'll do well.

Supernatural may be ending, but Jared Padalecki will continue to grace our TV screens. His show Walker, a reboot of the Chuck Norris classic Walker, Texas Ranger, has been given a straight to series order by the CW.

Multiple outlets have picked up the story....
Here's some really exciting news!!  Supernatural will have a Featured Session at the SXSW conference in Austin, TX!  The festival runs from March 13 to March 22.

Below is the snippet about Supernatural's session.  You might recognize a particular name in there...

• Supernatural: 15 Years of Fandom (Making Film & Episodics): From the series launch in 2005 on the former WB Network to the current 15th and final broadcast season on The CW, Supernatural is a case study in how a little “series-that-could” beat the odds to become the longest-running American sci-fi series in television history. Produced by Warner Bros. Television, series stars Jared PadaleckiJensen Ackles and Misha Collins will join a panel of Supernatural experts, including Samantha Highfill from Entertainment Weekly and Alice Jester from The Winchester Family Business, to discuss how a series with more than 300 episodes continues to trend on social media, sell out magazine covers and merchandise, pack fan conventions around the world, and be a force for social good – all while trying to make a positive and lasting impact.

Being excited about this doesn't begin to describe it...  ?

Here's the full article from The Austin Chronicle mentioning all the other guests.  Besides Supernatural, the fact that Stephen Colbert will be there really excites me as well.  I'm a huge fan!

The WFB and I even made it into Misha's tweet!

Here's the SWSX official site.  This looks like it's going to be an awesome event this year!

Today in Millennium Park, Chicago, Misha Collins told a group of his fans that he was in town for hip replacement surgery. He said he had met with his doctor in the morning and joked about the titanium they'd be using to replace his hip. He confirmed that his wife, Vicki, was not yet in town, but would be joining him soon.

Misha was on set in Vancouver, Canada last week filming Supernatural. The series is now on their holiday hiatus break from filming until after the new year.

The WFB's Nightsky was among the fans who met Misha in Chicago. Her report, "Misha Shares Unexpected News During Surprise Chicago Visit" documented his approximately 20 minute visit with his fans.

Although Supernatural usually is the second or third most watched show on the CW, that will not happen this week. The Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover did great in the ratings, usually hitting either 0.6 or 0.7 in 18-49. Good for the Arrowverse shows, but it will make our standing this week look anemic.
