Congratulations Misha Collins, now a People's Choice Award Winner!
The category of Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor was a strange one this year, pitting 3 "Supernatural" actors with 2 "Vampire Diaries" ones, but Misha Collins ended up emerging as the victor! Score one (and rightfully so) for his very enthusiastic fan base! We're glad to see Supernatural finally take this category.
Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor
Ian Somerhalder
Jared Padalecki
Jensen Ackles
Misha Collins
Paul Wesley
Unfortunately, it was the only category Supernatural took this year, losing Favorite TV Sci-Fi show to Beauty and the Beast and Favorite TV Duo to The Vampire Diaries. The results can be found here!

I’m surprised that Jensen and Jared did not win Favorite TV Duo. Wasn’t the plan supposed to be that Misha wins the solo award and J2 the duo? I knew that was flawed from the jump.
Quote: That is another indication that People's Choice Awards aren’t all that valid since Beauty and the Beast has really bad ratings.
Quote: It’s all about shipping so J2 did not win?
Quote: No wonder that show won Twitter the night an episode directed by Misha aired.
Quote: Airing on the CW does not automatically mean that the categories won’t be televised… But maybe the CW had to choose what shows they wanted to promote?
Misha would have wanted to accept the award on stage. I wonder whether the award for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor would have been handed at the ceremony if someone else had won.
It’s good that Jensen-girls can’t try to bitch at Jared’s fans anymore for Jensen not winning. It wasn’t logical in the first place. If Jensen doesn’t have enough fans on his own then he shouldn’t win.
Good for Misha that he gets something concrete for himself because Jensen and Jared will always get credit for Supernatural’s longevity. The award might mean more to Misha than it would have to Jared and Jensen. Misha is not as known as the other actors.
Even though winning at the People's Choice Awards doesn’t matter all that much because of the categories and the unlimited voting, I do feel a bit bad for Jensen and Jared that they were left out. They are the show after all. I think that Misha’s win is more for him and the minions and not really about Supernatural.

The fact is all these actors deserved this award, including Misha. They all do amazing work. Whenever actors from the same show get pitted against one another, mayhem ensues. It’s very unfair that the People’s Choice Awards allows it, but hey it gets fans voting, which is the goal. I can tell you organized campaigns in a splintered fandom do not work, no matter how well intentioned. The coin toss idea last year was a super dumb one. You don’t force fans to choose one actor over another for the sake of a People’s Choice Award. That’s desperate. I’m glad they didn’t try something like that this year.
If anything, I’m disappointed Jared and Jensen didn’t win best duo. That award is far more fitting of the J2s dynamic. That hurts way more than ONE of them not taking best actor. I wonder if this whole Jensen vs. Jared splinter in the fandom is worse than ever. It was probably easier to vote for Damon/Elena since it was a ship.
I’m not at all disappointed with best show. SPN has won before and it’s obvious the Beasties need all the publicity they can get to keep their show alive. However, I have no right to comment or complain about any category, because I didn’t vote in the People’s Choice Awards this year. This all happened during a strange time in my life this year where I couldn’t put in the effort.
With that I would just like to note that Jared and Jensen don't need a piece of glass to recognize the love we the fandom have for them. We have shown them our love by giving them our unending support for the last ten going on umpteen years. We show them our love by going to cons, giving them gifts, writing letters and articles, buying paraphranalia.. ...we voice and show our love daily for Jared and Jensen and they know it and have thanked us for it...endlessly grateful and showing us the fans their appreciation in return...;)
Dean said it best.....I don't need a trinket to remind me of how I feel about my brother. Well I believe Jared and Jensen know they don't need a piece of glass to remind them how much we love them.;)
Jmo of course;)
I agree Alice on biggest bummer being boys not winning for duo.....shipper s are many...apparent ly lots of romantics out there:D.
Just a cutesy mistake but on good spot.

Misha has a lot of fans but I don’t think his compares with Jared and Jensen’s. It’s just that Misha’s fans will vote and vote. They are very vocal in general (campaigns, Twitter parties, polls). A lot seem to come from Russia.
Are his fans going to write in Dean and Castiel for the category of Favorite TV Duo next year??
but yeah I know how bad the auto correct can be and well, let me say that mishap is probably... Well the nicest that can be if you compare to some words and the auto correct on them. :)

Now Misha asked for votes which takes away from the award really. But if people wasn't so on the J vs J parade could of swallowed their pride for once, they could of took TV Duo as a team.
In Some of mIsha fans just went in for him only in didn't even bother to throw a few votes in for the Js. As long as this keeps up we will win nothing and just more fighting. All this may have something to do with the show age/shipping wars over the years, and not to mention some people just don't care about polls.
But we are missing unity something BATB fans have. In it's sad we use to have this in kick but every where we go.
and…
I agree with Leah…. I am surprised (and not in a good way) at some of these comments, both from people who are upset about the win and those who are defensive about it. There's a lot of rudeness going on here.
I did finally get to see it. It was hysterical! I loved Jared showing us "Sam"…. I can't believe that he's not comfortable doing humor! I love that he's so willing to poke fun at himself. Everyone was fabulous but Jared really stood out for me.
Still, Jared was the standout for me in this…. his character was the most specific and convincing. I LOVED when he deigned to show us "Sam" and then said Thank you with all the sincerity in the world for this wonderful thing he'd bestowed on us. He even got his comeuppance when his wig caught on fire! HAH! Awesome. And yes…. he looked mighty, might fine!
