2. New arrivals

Alex Jones (Annie Jones) *Katherine Ramdeen

Even if she is young in life, she has already been through more than most of her elders have. Kidnapped when very young, raised by a vampire family - the fact that that is the only family she will remember is already sad. Her feeding her family with her own body and being a lure would make anyone lose their mind. Still, she breaks free in the end and does the right thing. She saved Jody because she knew what is right and what is wrong. She saw that Jody was genuine and her fake family was not.

"I fed them. My choice. My brothers -- they brought me food when I was hungry. So when they struck out on a hunt, I fed them. They're my family." – 9.19 Alex Annie Alexis Ann

Claire Novak *Sydney Imbeau, Kathryn Love Newton

I wasn't very fond of her when she first reappeared in Supernatural but like all things she is heading to a good path. When we first met Claire, she was very young but still she said yes to a being that promised to save her parents. She didn't know this "being" and Castiel saved her parents, only to take her father away again. Claire, like Cas, has walked a long way from that moment and it turned Claire angry and rebellious but she still decided to find her mother. She thought she wanted to tell her like it is but that was a cover -s he really did want to find her mother. The Winchesters gave her tips for the hunting life and she struck down the being that killed her mother. I hope her path is growing now that she is with Jody. Her first and last episodes were her best.

Dorothy Baum *Tiio Horn

I might be shallow with this one but all I can say is: female Indiana Jones. What is there not to like? She is wise and strong and she has a motorcycle. Also she is pretty good with fighting monsters and kicking ass. Also, she was from a time when women needed to show what they are worth, even if that is being silly and rebellious. It was very different time from ours.

"Wasted my time with his words. And I'd appreciate it if you didn't do the same. Now, I have tried cutting off her head, burning her, dousing her with holy water. All she did was laugh. Nothing I know of can kill her. So I'm here as a last resort. I was hoping you stiffs have a way to kill someone from Oz." – 9.04 Slumber Party

Julia Wilkinson *Jenny O'Hara, Gabrielle Giraud (Young Sister Julia)

If you are facing the greatest evil you have ever known, it is only fair that it makes you afraid. She needed to carry the burden of a horrible secret but when the same was happening again she couldn't stand still. So, she helped Sam Winchester solve the case with her knowledge and made things right for others and for herself.

"If it's for a date, sorry. I never see anyone under 65. Too much drama." – 9.17 Mother's Little Helper
Known status: Alive and kicking

Catlin *Chelsea Hobbs

She had a very little role also but she also made things right with her last decision. Rowena killed her friend and thought nothing about it. Catlin would have none of it and she slugged Rowena and ran. At the start, she was also rebellious against the demon pimp creeps. Hopefully she is alive and well and her life has turned better.

I enjoyed this article the first time and enjoyed your updates. I do have to say that Billie made a great first impression. I am looking forward to her next appearances. I will always have a fondness for Ellen she might be my favorite female character so far in the series. Honorable mentions to Charlie and Jodi.

It was good time to update it. Characters might change and also we are getting new characters to add to the list. Also the more episodes we get the more our view of the character might change. Like with me few characters are not out yet fully from the muddy waters but their direction is better. One is still on hold even if I do like the character better "Rowena". But Billie was the bomb. I really truly liked her and she made that effect only in a one scene. I am keeping my thumbs up for her. :)

Quote:
1. strikingly or overwhelmingly tough, aggressive, powerful, or effective:
Article does a nice job to acknowledge, celebrate and comment on many of the females that appeared on the show and just say YEAH girls in general. I don't agree with the label "kick ass" for all you mentioned and think it is a reserved limited class. Some of these females may have been likable, cool, strong in some aspect, made a good decision, made a realization, helped out a bit, or simply had their own story told. Finally I don't think Alex who was an accessory to murder of humans, feeding them to her vampire family, and Claire who chose the life of crime over foster care and helped plan the murder of Dean Winchester should be getting any kick ass awards just because they had a tough life, made bad choices and eventually had a change of mind. My list of Kick Ass Women whether good or evil: #1 Mary Winchester followed in no order Pamela Barnes, Ellen Harvelle, Mrs.Tran, Charlie, Ruby, Meg, Abaddon, Deanna Campbell, Annie Hawkins, Naomi.

It is the way people see things. I see it as a great strength to change your path and do the right thing and like I said. Some of them are teetering on the border. And in part one I mentioned most in your list. Also, I do choose who I pick up carefully. If I wouldn't I would put minion number two also on the list. All the women on this list were at least effective from the word description. But like I said, it is a matter of opinion. This is how I see it. :)

I think to be a "Woman of Supernatural" you need to actually appear in more than one episode, AND be a significant player in the episodes.

One time guests should not qualify, nor should bit-players (such as the angel Rachel in season 6, and that demon Sam & Ruby tortured for blood that would eat babies). Otherwise, the category is too wide open and subjective.

It depends what kind of impression the woman in question has made. Few of them I have in my list like that. The first article was more varied. You could call this an update to that. :)

Thanks for reading.

Well she is giving her personal opinions so yes it is subjective. She didn't specify it had to be a "significant" character. Her theme was kick-ass women so she categorized them as she saw fit, she is the author. A one time character can be impactful also. Agree or disagree but she is allowed her opinions. I enjoyed her article.
