Reflections and Resolutions

"So this is Christmas and what have you done.

Another year over, and new one just begun..."

- John Lennon - Happy Xmas( War is Over)

It's that time of year when we reflect on the past year.

Reflect on family...

...both those we have with us and those we have lost.

We reflect on good friends, too, including that are still with us and those that are not.

We remember special moments ...

Be it a marriage

a birth

Or sadly even death

....Sorry wrong reflection

Even death.

However, with these moments of reflection there is also the excitement and anticipation of knowing new moments and memories are waiting to me made.

When the clock strikes midnight, it's the beginning of a new year.

A fresh new start, a chance to set new goals and make changes for the better.

So now to ask the inevitable question.

'What are your New Year's Resolutions ?'

A New Year's resolution is a secular tradition, most common in the Western Hemisphere but also found in the Eastern Hemisphere,  in which a person makes a promise to do an act of self-improvement or something slightly nice, such as opening doors for people beginning from New Year's Day. (thanks wikipedia)

Now the more popular resolutions are about self improvement.

Eating better, losing weight, ending bad habits and getting into shape.

In doing so one would have to

Cut down on cheese burgers and fries

Sweets and pastries

including doughnuts

 and Pudding

Sorry wrong kind of pudding

Pudding

Drink less alcohol,

by keeping it in moderation.

Eat healthier foods

including salads

Low calorie sandwiches

Especially turkey.

One of the harder habits to break is smoking. Even with the help of acupuncture,

it's still difficult to quite when others around are still doing it.

Then there is exercise to help get in better shape.

If you make it fun it won't seem like work.

Like riding bikes

Playing Sports

Dancing

And doing enthusiastic chin-ups

Even playful Wrestling....ummm

Playful Wrestling

There are so many things one can do to get and or stay in shape but always remember..

...to stretch first.

Other resolutions can be on the charitable side

Donating blood

Keeping a loved one from getting into trouble

Or getting them out of trouble

Or even just giving them the support they need.

As for what is on my list? Pretty much what was listed above, however, I would like to add

To laugh more often as it is supposed to be the best medicine.

Learn to play the guitar or some kind of instrument

And enjoy life to the fullest.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hear hear,

this made me actually laugh and cry. Probably because of the good pictures... And the resolutions sound about right. This was A-W-E-S-O-M-E.
