After more than 18 months of work, Rob Benedict and Richard Speight, Jr. are about to debut Kings of Con!

The pair started an Indiegogo campaign in March of 2015. They had an initial goal of $100,000. By the end of the campaign they had raised almost $280,000. They pulled in some great costars

Richard and Rob have been busy promoting the premier of this series. They've given multiple interviews, plus they attended the Los Angeles Comic Con to give fans a taste of what is to come.

I’m so excited for the new web series ‘Kings of Con’, which premieres on Comic Con HQ on November 15. Not only are its two stars, Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict, talented actors and musicians, they have been making Supernatural fans laugh until it’s painful at conventions for the past eight years. I have a feeling Kings of Con is going to be equally hysterical.

I’ve known Rob and Rich since their very first Supernatural conventions back in 2008, so I was thrilled to sit down to chat with them a few weeks ago about Kings of Con. They had just done a ‘Kings of Con’ panel at the convention, in fact. Rob was still working out some arrangements for the band, so Richard and I started chatting.

They teased us with the trailer for the series:

Then Rich and Rob  released the first few minutes of the series:

For Supernatural fans, Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict are God-like … literally. As recurring characters on the show, Speight played the archangel Gabriel, while Benedict played a prophet who is believed to also be the big man upstairs. But here’s the thing: That was five years ago. Other than a cameo or two, both Speight and Benedict wrapped their storylines on the show in 2010. So how does their fame live on? Two words: Fan conventions.

Thanks to Supernatural’s passionate fan base, Speight and Benedict now spend 12 to 14 weekends a year attending fan conventions, where they’re two of the biggest stars in the world. Then, the convention ends, and they’re back to living their everyday lives

Nerds and Beyond caught up with Rich and Rob at the Burbank Supernatural Convention

A few facts about the show were shared during the panel. We learned that Rich will not be in the first three episodes. They jokingly say that those episodes are only “King of Con”, and Rob has to complete his own sentences alone. Rob adorably called the show their “baby” and their relationship allowed for a lot of fun during the creative process, though ultimately they took the project very seriously and wanted to create the best show possible. A few of the guest actors were also shared during the panel, including Ron Livingston, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Rick Gomez, and Kim Rhodes. They are creating a gag reel for the season, and parts of this will be shared each week during the Kings of Conversation talk show!

So prepare yourselves for Kings of Con! Here are the details on the premiere:
