Good news today for the "clockblockers," aka the devoted fans of NBC's "Timeless," co-created by our "Supernatural" overlord Eric Kripke.  NBC announced that it is giving the show it's proper series finale after cancelling it last month.  "Timeless" is getting a two hour finale movie!  The show had just finished its second season when it was cancelled by NBC after wicked cliffhanger.
Both Kripke and co-creator Shawn Ryan issued a statement about the surprise finale, which was looking pretty bleak a few weeks ago:
“While we wish we could’ve made another dozen seasons of Timeless, this is the next best thing.  We’re thrilled to take the Lifeboat out for one last spin and bring closure to our story. The studio, network, cast and crew are all doing this for one reason only: the fans. Because they deserve it. Because the fans made this happen and we thank them for their passion, support and helicopters. So? You guys want to get Rufus back or what?”
Fans were so passionate about getting this movie that they raised funds for two helicopters to fly over the most recent San Diego Comic Con with this banner (I saw it!):

The movie is expected to air sometime during the holiday season.  Congrats to the cast, crew, and fans of "Timeless."  With this kind of attention, one can hope that Netflix is paying attention, right?
