The season finale episode is titled "Let Him Hang." Here is the synopsis, courtesy of The CW:
SEASON FINALE – With Gus (Philemon Chambers) clinging to life, Abby (Kat McNamara), Hoyt (Matt Barr), Kate (Katie Findlay), and Calian (Justin Johnson Cortez) stop at nothing to expose Tom’s (Greg Hovanessian) true nature and end the Davidson reign over Independence once and for all. The episode was written by Seamus Kevin Fahey and Nicki Renna and directed by Yangzom Brauen (#113). Original airdate 3/2/2023.
Here is the promo clip aired on The CW after last week's episode. This looks pretty intense! Looks like it is an action packed finale.
Of course I'd be remiss if I didn't address the elephant in the room, will there be a season two? That is a tough one to say. I imagine this finale will resolve the season one storyline while setting up possibilities for a season two. I'll admit, chances are bleak that it will be back on The CW. The network is looking for higher ratings and seems like they want to do that with less costly scripted shows. But according to Jared at the JIB con this weekend, they do have other options should The CW not pick up the show. I'm not sure how viable those options are, but it does sound like there could be a plan B. With that in mind, there is hope, but still no solid answers.
Updated: Here's an interview with EP Seamus Kevin Fahey at TV Line where he mentions a Plan B, but doesn't elaborate much. I like his enthusiasm!
What do you hope will happen in the finale? Anything you hope to see, especially if this ends up being the final episode? Share in the comments. After the episode, come back here and give us your thoughts on the season in general. What you liked, what you didn't, what you think a season two could look like, etc. I'm sure there will be a lot of unpack!
