Hi! I’m back! Last week Alice was kind enough to fill in for me as I finished off my Texan adventure. But now, I’m back home and the season is back in full swing and it’s time for another spoiler-lite preview! Are you ready?
Sam was dying
Cass wasn’t flying
Dean was crying
Fans were sighing – in a wibbly way.
Yes our boys were in a sticky predicament again and Dean was faced with another tough decision – make a choice for his brother he knows Sam wouldn’t like to ensure Sam lives, because there ain’t no Dean if there ain’t no Sam (and there ain't no us if there ain't no Sam and Dean), or let his brother move on with the cool dude in the suit who likes pickle chips. Obviously there was only one way this was going to go *sigh* *wibble*
Enter Ezekiel…an angel of unknown intent who promises to fix Sammy from the inside out. How can Dean say no…as long as he can get Sam to say yes…
Meanwhile, our non-feathered friend, Castiel is discovering that the angels are after him, being a human is hurty and doing washing is a drag!
And we’re all left with a pain in our hearts, a knot in our stomachs and wondering why no-one looking like Misha Collins ever gets his gear off in our local laundromat?
It’s back to the bunker! Weeeee!
Yes, we’re going back to the Men Of Letters bunker – where Kevin has been awaiting the brother’s return and where Crowley is going to finally get out of the Impala’s trunk!
Here’s the official synopsis for 9.02 - "Devil May Care"...
Dean shocks Sam by popping open the trunk of the Impala and showing him that he has kidnapped Crowley. Kevin freaks out when he sees the King of Hell, but Sam and Dean convince him that they need Crowley to find the demons on Earth. Meanwhile, Abaddon (guest star Alaina Huffman) re-emerges and plans to take over Hell.
ABADDON. IN HER ORIGINAL MEAT SUIT! Guess she pulled in an Anna sized favour! I’m so thrilled that Alaina Huffman is back. Abaddon rocks and Alaina is smoking! Well last time we saw her she was literally smoking and smoking out!
This episode is written by Andrew Dabb and directed by Guy Bee. It was also shot first in the slate – though it's screening second – due to Mr Sheppard’s shooting schedule, being as he’s on every show on TV!
So, the bros have Crowley in the demon dungeon under demony lock and key and the poor Prophet of God is having digit separation anxiety! Who can blame him! Last time Kevin was in close proximity to Crowley he lost a piece of himself!
Of course, the last time we saw Crowley he was part way through being the final trial in the Winchester brothers quest to close the gates of Hell. He was undergoing the cure and professing his need to be loved and his passion for the HBO show, “Girls”!
So, how will Crowley be now? Will he be almost human? Will he be just as snarky? Will he be pissed there's no HBO in the dungeon?
Let's check out the CW promo...
The junk in Dean's trunk...heeee!
Hmmm looks like Ezekiel makes another showing. How's this whole thing going to be for Dean? I mean, for right now, Sam doesn't know, but Dean does, so everytime he looks at his brother he's looking at not quite his brother, or it's his brother but with a little extra something going on... That makes me incredibly sad, because he won't be able to talk to his brother without knowing in the back of his mind, it's not only his brother he's talking to. And will Ezekiel just pop up when he wants to? And how will Dean talk to Ezekiel if he needs to without alerting Sam to his angelic pacemaker. Gah. The whole thing is so interesting and so ouchy all at once. I'm sad for both of them. Why does this show hurt so much!
And not only that, it looks like Dean's about to get the snot beaten out of him again - this time by Abaddon. Though Sammy is running, so maybe he's coming to the rescue. And I have to laugh at Crowley's face when he get's punched in the nose! Classic!
Do we think for one single second that Crowley's going to give the brothers anything? I doubt it, partly cured or otherwise - I think he's going to be a royal pain in their perky asses! With Abaddon on the prowl, you also have to wonder who you'd prefer being in charge of Hell? The Devil you know or the Devil you don't? Abaddon was hand picked by Luci. I'd be very worried that she might be thinking about breaking him out of that cage. I'd probably be cool with Lucifer getting free, but not Michael! Ha! Look what "Supernatural" does to us...I'm rooting for the Devil over the Archangel Michael!!
We also have a preview clip to check out...
Haha! This clip is awesome. Icecream and strippers...oh Dean, how I've missed you. And I love the brothers working through what they have to look forward to! Angels, demons and every other monster...yep, busy year. Sounds awesome.
Do you think that the angel tablet is going to have a reversal spell on it? I bet not. But I'm hoping part of the big plan this season is shoving the angels back into Heaven. I hope that's a direction we definitely investigate and work towards.
So what are your thoughts on episode 9.02. How much Zeke/Sam do you think we're going to see? I'm kind of hoping we go for a bit with just Sam and I'm kind of hoping that Ezekiel bugs out and gets back into that other vessel sooner rather than later so that we can all deal with the aftermath, cry, debate and move on! And how long do you think Crowley is going to be in the basement? I actually think it might be for a while, which makes me think Abaddon may well take over the reins of Hell. I mean if Crowley isn't around, what's to stop her? I'm very interested to see how much Crowley is being affected by the trials and being partially cured of his demonself and what that means to his interactions with Sam and Dean and also, Kevin. I wonder if Kevin will ask about his mum?
You know who I'm missing already? Meg. All this talk of demons, I just know I'm going to miss her like crazy.
Oh and obviously Meg's Unicorn is not in this week's episode. I'm pretty sure Castiel is back for episode 9.03.
There's not CHCH promo yet - I'll pop it in when/if it drops, so keep your eyes peeled! I wonder if Carver is going to do spasmodic producer previews again this season. You know what I really hope? That he'll write more than two episodes.
Edit: And here's the CHCH promo...Long Live the Queen! Or King... So torn.
Okay, hit me up in the comments with any theories or thoughts on the episode or any theories or thoughts that have been brewing about the direction of the season, because I know you've all been thinking about it...I can't be alone in obsessively over thinking this whole thing!
