Fan Video of the Week: Supernatural Reflections “There’s Something About Mary”
” There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.” ― Elie Wiesel
No, no, no, no, nope, no and NO! Unfortunately, this episode is my last review for season 12. I would have liked to end the season 12 fan video reviews on a higher note but I can’t. The fan videos are the only good part that this episode has left behind. My brain literally malfunctioned after the first few minutes of the show. That was lucky because the rest of the episode is a blur – I was so annoyed that Eileen was killed that remembering everything from the episode would be painful. Like Sam said and I agree: “I-I… I wanna punch something in the face.” Thinking about this episode still makes me furious.
You know… I loved how professional and also sweet Eileen Leahy was. I loved her effect on Sam. If Eileen was excited – so was Sam. If she was sad – so was Sam. Their chemistry and teasing of one another was cute. I guess I am then a “Saileen” shipper. I don’t care. All I know is that Sam was robbed again someone he had grown to like more and more and someone Dean regarded as a friend like Charlie. Watching him tease Sam about her was great. You probably guess what word I will quote this time in my article. It is injustice but I could have picked loads of different adjectives to describe how I feel about the episode and it would not have been pretty. Anyway, like I said, these videos and the music are great and they are all in tribute to Eileen Leahy. Also I want to give a shout out to Shoshannah Stern who is a sweetheart and played Eileen so perfectly.
I hope they help you like they did me. The first one is beautiful but I would be lying if I would not say that about them all. The first two might make you cry but the last one is happier. I just wish the show runners and writers would have learned something by now. Not ALL fan reactions are good for your business.

Hurts Like Hell by Fleurie
How can I say this without breaking
How can I say this without taking over
How can I put it down into words
When it’s almost too much for my soul alone
I loved and I loved and I lost you
I loved and I loved and I lost you
I loved and I loved and I lost you
And it hurts like hell
Yeah it hurts like hell
I don’t want them to know the secrets
I don’t want them to know the way I loved you
I don’t think they’d understand it, no
I don’t think they would accept me, no
I loved and I loved and I lost you
I loved and I loved and I lost you
I loved and I loved and I lost you
And it hurts like hell
Yeah it hurts like hell
Dreams fight with machines
Inside my head like adversaries
Come wrestle me free
Clean from the war
Your heart fits like a key
Into the lock on the wall
I turn it over, I turn it over
But I can’t escape
I turn it over, I turn it over
I loved and I loved and I lost you
I loved and I loved and I lost you
I loved and I loved and I lost you
And it hurts like hell
Fleurie is the musical brainchild of Lauren Strahm. Lauren is from Canton, Michigan but has acquired a few hometowns over the past few years, including Sydney, Australia and Nashville, Tennessee. She has been writing music since age 11 and sharing it with people since age 17. Fleurie is a word of French origin, meaning “in bloom.” Lauren’s vision for Fleurie was a sound to match her songwriting: raw, honest, and expressive. With much help from a few very talented musician friends, Fleurie was born. Fleurie is a sonic blend of organic layers and cinematic melodies.
New to Nashville’s singer-songwriter scene is artist Fleurie, the musical moniker of Lauren Strahm, a 24-year-old hailing from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. The French word, meaning “in bloom” was chosen by the artist herself, who wanted an alias that accurately represented her sound. With an array of musical influences, including Coldplay, Imogen Heap, Dashboard Confessional, and The Fray, Strahm cites that her goal in writing every song is staying honest and true to the sound within her and the story being told.
The first EP from Fleurie, Fear & Fable, was released in October of 2013. Though it bears some darker tones thematically and lyrically, Strahm manages to deliver them softly and quite vulnerably to the listener. Fear & Fable is a collection of carefully constructed stories inhabiting haunting melodies woven through organic sounds – very much so a minimalist approach but with sonic depth. Since moving to Nashville and the release of Fear & Fable, Fleurie has been at work exploring new sonic landscapes and delving into writing the part of the story she finds herself journeying now. Fleurie has a new EP in the works for release spring/summer of 2015.

I Was Here by Beyoncé Knowles
I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, meant something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I’ll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won’t forget
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I’ve done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I wanna say I lived each day, until I die
And know that I meant something in somebody’s life
The hearts I have touched will be the proof that I leave
That I made a difference, and this world will see
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I’ve done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I’ve done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone some happiness
Left this world a little better just because
I was here
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I’ve done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I wanna leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I lived (I lived), I loved
I was here
I did (I did), I’ve done
I was here
I lived (I lived), I loved (I loved)
I was here (oh)
I did, I’ve done
I was here

Quotes
Sam: Dean, monsters and demons don’t team up. Seven hunters are gone. We can’t grab a signal from Mom’s phone. Cas has Kelly Kline who knows where. Mick has slipped off the grid. Ketch is lying to us. I-I… I wanna punch something in the face.
Dean: Good. Hold on to that, ’cause it look like we got a hellhound to deal with. Which means…
Lady Bevell: Well, not about this illusion of you that you hold on to. The perfect life. Loving husband and kids. But it never really was perfect, was it? All those secrets you kept from your beloved John – that you were a hunter. That you invited Azazel to visit when he spared John’s life.
Mary: How do you-
Lady Bevell: I have sources, Mary. Everywhere. After you died, your beloved John was a man slowly going mad, searching for revenge. What? Your boys didn’t tell you? The drunken rages? The weeks of abandonment? Child abuse, really. It’s no wonder they’re… damaged. So… enough with the fairy tale. We are returning you to a more pure version of yourself – Mary Campbell, natural born killer.
Dean: Did you – did – did your people, did they kill her?
Lady Bevell: Probably. Rule of thumb – if you think we killed someone, then we probably did. Speaking of, you do realize that by attacking me, you invite the retribution of the entire British Men of Letters? No investigation, no trial. Just punishment and ruin. Possibly at the hands of Mary Winchester.

Trivia and Minutiae
This episode reveals that Crowley has a working arrangement with the British Men of Letters in the UK, wherein his crossroads demons are able to operate only insofar as to make deals for souls of people dumb enough to sell them, explaining how Bela Talbot sold her soul when she was a child when the BMOL supposedly had the UK safe from any supernatural incursions since 1965.
Eileen Leahy was killed off in this episode. Since season nine, the twenty-first episode of each season has included the death of a recurring character: Abaddon (9.21 King of the Damned), Charlie Bradbury (10.21 Dark Dynasty), and Metatron (11.21 All in the Family).
Some, fans were upset with the killing of Eileen Leahy and saw it as the fridging of another minority female character similar to the death of lesbian hunter Charlie Bradbury in 10.21 Dark Dynasty. The hashtag #firebuckleming (referring to the writers of the episode) trended on Twitter during the broadcast.
