Ah, season 14.  A season I didn’t care for at all.  I’m trying to remember if there was even an episode I liked in this season.  Oh right, that one.

I hated season 14 so much, I didn’t even bother to do an Editor’s Choice award.  Well that and the summer of 2019 was a bit volatile for me.  So why do one now?  Closure.  I’ve done one for every single season except this one.  I need to make sure my archive is complete.  Will I be kind to this season now that I’ve had a chance to step back and re-familiarize myself with its work?  Not a chance.

I’m going to avoid heaping praise on the best episode of the season, “Lebanon” because I already did that in the S14 Fan Choice Awards.  I’ll be catering the awards to the rest of the episodes.  However, once or twice with this set of awards, “Lebanon” was just clearly the best choice.

Enough of my introductive ramblings.  Let's get on with the awards!

As I was looking for a way to pass the quarantine summer doldrums, I saw Entertainment Weekly’s list of what it considered to be the 75 most ‘essential’ episodes of Supernatural, leading up to Season 15. Since any excuse for a rewatch is a good excuse, I figured I’d not only invite my Supernatural "Team Free Will North Carolina" (TFWNC) Facebook group to join me, but I’d also recap my thoughts on which episodes Entertainment Weekly (EW) chose, which ones they skipped, and what was left out.  Music plays such a big role in Supernatural, so I also noted which iconic songs were included and which were missed in the skipped episodes. Reporting on all that turned into quite the project, and The WFB was kind enough to let me share it here! (My snarky opinions are my own and don’t reflect those of The WFB.)

So come on the journey with me! Start with season 1, then follow the links until you catch up with us in season 14!

Yes, this is definitely delayed.  All the hoopla of Comic Con set the reveal of the results way back.  But hey, better late than never, right? Right???

The votes have been tallied, analyzed, and now they can be shared!  Thanks to all of you that voted and made your opinions known, both good, bad, and indifferent.  In the end, the power of collective minds generated some interesting results.

So, without further delay, I present The WFB Supernatural Season 14 Fan Choice Award Results!

It's the return of our annual game!  I suddenly realized that I had gone this far in the summer without doing this fun little exercise and decided today was the day to fix that.  After all, we have a lot of Hellatus left!

The game is simple.  Below is a list of all the episodes in "Supernatural" season fourteen.  You then list them according to your opinion from best to worst, but you only have five minutes to do it.  Make sure to share your results in the comments.  The key here is you've got to go on gut feel.  Don't deliberate too much.

Not sure what happened in those episodes?  I certainly needed a refresher.  Go to our handy/dandy Season Fourteen Episode Guide and review the episode summaries first.  That should trigger the memory.  Once you're comfortable with which episode is which, set the timer and go.  Okay, for me it took a hair under six minutes, but honestly, the dog distracted me.  I swear!  If you end up taking ten minutes or so, I guess no one will know except you and fluffy.  But try not to create a pristine and perfect list based on hours of analysis.  Just go with what you liked.  The purpose of this exercise is to show what episodes people liked and disliked.  It's amazing the differences that result in these lists.
You nominated, I tallied, some of the categories came up short so I improvised, and here we are!  Voting is now open for our annual WFB Fan Choice Awards.

The rules are pretty simple.  Vote for your choice in each category.  Feel free to skip categories if you wish.  Or you can vote more often in ones that you feel strongly about, or vote multiple times in categories where there are enough good choices where you need to split your vote.  If you wish to vote multiple times, just refresh the page and start again.  Voting is unlimited.

You thought we forgot about this, didn't you?  Sure, we're a little delayed from years past, but how could we not take time to look back at Season 14?  How can we not offer the opportunity to the fans to speak out about what they loved, what they hated, and what they were indifferent to in this now official second to last season?  That would be heartless!

Ever since season seven a certain number of award categories have been set aside and offered to you, the SPN fans, for judgement.  It gives the fandom that chance to be heard, just because we care.  Before I can come up with a final vote though, we need nominations!

I have pre-selected 17 award categories where you, the Supernatural fan, will eventually select the winner.  Just list your nominations for each category in the comments.

I feel like the lost potential with Michael and Jack in S14 deserves more discussion...
