Caption This! #400 – Mega Spooktacular Extravaganza!
400 caption this contests! Who knew we’d get this far? I went looking for the original Caption This! contest to see where it all started and…I couldn’t find it. It was that long ago, so much so it got lost in a system incident or something. But we have the winner recorded, which was all the way back on August 16, 2016. That’s over 8 years ago! This was the clever entry from someone just known as “Guest” from the episode “Brother’s Keeper”.
We have something very special planned for our 400th contest, which conveniently happens on Halloween week. But first, let’s announce the winner for Caption This! 399. Nate put out an oldie of Misha from the TV show Charmed. This episode came out in 1999! To put that in perspective, Jensen was a teen actor on Days of Our Lives at the time. Jared was barely getting started in acting and a year from his teen breakout role on Gilmore Girls. So yes, miles from Supernatural!
Picking the winner was a little difficult. There were some great entries, but in the end I picked the one that I thought was most humorous and fitting for this particular scene and show. Congratulations palidinteacher! I did add one small line for Alyssa, but Misha’s line is what matters here:
Okay, now for the 400th Caption This, which we are calling the Mega Spooktacular Extravaganza! We dug deep in the archives for anything Halloween related for J2M, and found some fun items digging back to some early horror films and some fun stuff released during the SPN years. I have numerous screen caps here to caption, just to keep you all busy.
Let’s start with the early horror films. Here’s Jensen in a little known film called Devour. It looks…bloody.

Then there’s Jared with a more well known role, one even mocked in the Supernatural episode “Fallen Idols.” Here’s a notorious scene from House of Wax.

Okay, remember those horror films that Jared and Jensen did during the summer break after season three? Yeah, I’m sure we’ve forgotten them by now. Here’s are two gems, one for Jensen from My Bloody Valentine and one for Jared from Friday the 13th.

J2M loved the dress up for Halloween. Here’s a picture that Misha shared one year. I can imagine a few captions for this one!
#5
Misha shared this one while filming the final episodes. It’s, um, well, I don’t know what’s going on here.
#6
Also in the final season, J2M had a cover shoot for EW for Halloween. There are 3 brilliant shots to caption here!

Okay, this one isn’t very Halloween focused, but what could be going through their minds?
#10
Here are two others that you don’t have to try and caption but they’re such goofy fun I’d though I’d share. Let’s call these “extra credit.”

So, did I throw you a curveball much? This is some pretty intense homework, but we couldn’t let our 400th happen without a twist. You can try and caption all of these, or just caption the ones you feel like. We will run this contest for at least two weeks (maybe longer if it proves to be difficult), and Nate and I both will pick the best captions for each photo.
Alright, I suggest grab some coffee, limber up those fingers and then give it your best shot! Time to Caption This!
