Countdown To The Finale: Emotional S6 Moments So Far
As we approach what’s sure to be a season finale with a least a few emotional, sucker punch you in the gut, heaving on the floor sobbing moments, I went back through season six to fondly remember those other times that this show grabbed my insides, twisted and then taunted me relentlessly for it. In other words, the tender, character in crisis bits that turn many a fan girl into a weepy mess. Or, they could be just something sweetly sentimental that makes us realize how crappy these guys’ lives are.
In no particular order, here’s what stood out for me off the top of my head:
Dean frantic and pleading over unconscious Sam, “Mannequin 3”
Lisa’s brutal honesty to Dean, “You Can’t Handle The Truth.”
Sam and Dean hug, “Like A Virgin.”
Let’s face it, when it comes to brotherly hugs, we are suckers. TPTB know it, I’m sure Jared and Jensen know it, so why not come up with the premise that Sam wakes up after being re-souled and doesn’t remember anything since he fell into Hell.
Sam finding out he was alive and soulless for the last year, “Like A Virgin.”
Castiel’s grueling appeal to God, “The Man Who Would Be King.”
Sam’s guilt over killing Samuel “And Then There Were None.”
Dean questioning which is the better life, “The French Mistake.”
Sam and Dean looking out for Bobby, “My Heart Will Go On.”
Dean choosing to kill the girl, “Appointment in Samarra.”
Sam’s devastation over what his soulless counterpart did, “Unforgiven.”
Bobby saying goodbye to Rufus, “And Then There Were None.”
