I just got this from Warner Brothers a few minutes ago.  The rumors are true!!!

PARIS HILTON TO GUEST STAR ON THE CW’S “SUPERNATURAL”

(August 6, 2009 – Burbank, CA) -- Paris Hilton will guest star in the October 8th episode of The CW’s “Supernatural,” reuniting her with her “House of Wax” co-star and “Supernatural” series regular, Jared Padalecki.

“Paris Hilton is playing a demonic creature that takes the form of....Paris Hilton,” said series creator and executive producer Eric Kripke in describing her role on the show.  “It'll be a fun, irreverent episode and we here at ‘Supernatural’ are thrilled that Paris agreed to do it.”

The episode, titled “American Idol,” will air on October 8, 2009, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. For all the latest Supernatural info and article links, follow The Winchester Family Business on Twitter at @WinFamBusiness

My first reaction to this is not a positive one... but hey, In Kripke We Trust. I'm sure it'll be hilarious. After all, a "suicidal teddy bear" sounded a little crazy but played out wonderfully on screen.

I've learned by now that Kripke and co. can pull off just about anything...who thought another brother would work so well either. I'm game for whatever they got...although, I think I've figured out what's up with Bobby and I'll admit that's got my biting my fingernails. Still, five weeks, five weeks, five weeks!!!!

Sigh. My first thought when reading this news was, 'Man, the apocalypse HAS begun.

I really wish Hollywood would stop pandering to pseudo-celebrities by stretching out their undeserved 15 minutes of fame even further. And Paris is well past her best bye-bye date.

I love the idea of this episode - just wish they'd picked a different 'celebrity.' I tried to give it go; thought 'Well, if they give her a really quirky SN death before the opening credits, it won't be so bad,' - but, nope, still wishing this was Kripke's idea of a twisted joke. That I'd like.

And to add a little irony into the mix: the word verification code for this post was 'PTSD.' :D

Yes, I do trust Kripke. But...

I THINK MY HEART JUST BROKE A LITTLE.

*ehem* Pardon the capslock abuse. Suze, I'm totally agree with you.

At first I thought that this was just another rumour on E! that would prove to be false....but the more I think about it the more I like it  I also despise Hilton but everybody is talking about our show and wouldn't it be wonderful if Paris thought she was going to get her big TV break but Sam & Dean get to 'kill' her the same way they did Ruby. Now, I could live with that.
:D

While not a fan of Paris Hilton's by any means, I do think the reaction of many on the internet has been a bit extreme. She's not the anti-christ after all. (The show already has one of those and he is much, much hotter.)

You know, you have to give Paris some credit (well, no you don't but think about this for a sec), she likely knows that for all the people out there who like her, there is at least and equal if not greater number of folks who don't and yet she's agreed to take a roll of playing a demon who plays herself and she's gonna get killed and mocked from here to kingdom come, but she's doing it anyway.

That has to take some guts yes?? I mean, I don't like her either. How monumentally unfair that she should be able to make millions off being a "dumb blond" who contributes nothing to society at large yet other folks who are good people and help others have to scrape by?

Yet she's willing to set herself up to be royally "roasted".

And my curiosity has won and I'm really wanting to see this episode now!

So they can't afford the classic rock music anymore, but they can afford Paris Hilton?

Hey, Kripke, I hear Paula Abdul's free now too, if you really want to fully cater to the trashy tabloid masses. That'll probably boost your ratings even more.

I've never been a fan of her, but this is gonna be great. The lady obviously has a sense of humor. All of the publicity stunts and over the top media attention aside, she's showing she has a sense of humor. I love it.

Brian - please don't give Kripke any ideas about Paula...who knows where that could lead.

Well, he is calling the ep "American Idol". Don't you think she'd be more appropriate as a guest star?

Either way I'd rather have one 10-sec. classic rock snippet over either of them. The money could be better spent.

Oh, cheap she is, all right, just not in the monetary sense-- she even charges money to show up at people's parties and events.

I actually deflated when i read that she was really gonna be on the show. Then i read everyone's comments and i feel i may survive, she probably will boost ratings and all the mindless teenage girls who worship her public image will possibly become rabid fans like the rest of us. New blood is always good for the shows fan family.
