First, at EW.com, Sandra Gonzalez interviewed Jared Padalecki.  He spills about Sam's deteriorated mental state, answers an EXTREMELY pressing question about his hair (yes, I like to think I started all that but I know I'm wrong), and guess who's a closet Fringe fan?  This is one of the best interviews I've read from Jared in a while.

Oh why not.  Here's the hair answer:

Now, this might sound silly, and it is. But I get this question more than anything, so let’s just put it out there. What’s going on with Sam’s hair this season?

[Laughs...for a good while]Well, it’s probably more similar to season 6 than season 1. It’s taken on a life of it’s own. I think one day my hair and the Impala are going to have re-negotiations for season 7. But I guess we pick up season 7 where season 6 left off. So it’s most similar to that. I get a lot of people who liked my hair in season 1. I think, literally, we’ve had times in the past 6 or 7 years when I’m like, “Man, I want to cut my hair really short.” Or Jensen’s like, “I really want to grow my hair out. It gets cold here.” And I suppose they won’t let us because that’s just who Sam and Dean are. One’s longer-haired and one’s short-haired. And now that Sam’s older, they definitely style it more than let it be floppy and frumpy. I think back in season 1, I was just this 23-year-old kid but I was also 6? 4”. I had the body of a man but a face of a boy, and they wanted me to be more a boy than a man. So they gave me the original Bieber look. Maybe Bieber stole it from me — the whole hair-in-the-eyes, “I think I’m too sexy” attitude. But now I’m adult Sam ‘do.

The other one is from Jensen Ackles, by Ileane Rudolph at TV Guide.  As you may know, no one gets the scoop on things better than Ileane!  Jensen spills a lot here, which is cool.  It means that they have finally been given the go ahead to open up about what's coming.  Again, another great interview.  Here's my favorite question:

TV Guide Magazine: Congratulations. Your little show is about to start its seventh season. Can you believe it?

Jensen Ackles: No, I can't. It was unbelievable we made Season 5, then 6, now we're doing 7 and they're already looking into the future of 8, so I'm just like, "What?" It's not gonna be, "Sam, get me the salt and the gun." It's gonna be, "Sam, throw me my walker!"

I'm sure few of us would object to watching Sam and Dean grow old.  Jared had also confirmed that they were very optimistic about season 8 at Vancon, so it sounds like we might be in for a two season arc here.

So, what do you think everyone?  That countdown clock is getting smaller.  Anyone excited about the new season yet?  Not excited?  Tell us what you're feeling.

Both articles were a great read. Thank you. I am excited and nervous about season 7. This will be the first time I will have to watch each new episode every Friday night. I have come to this show late and have watched (several times each) seasons 1-5, and my daughter had recored season 6, so again, I watched it without stopping. How did you all live week to week??? Booze, sleep, or what???? It will be fun discussing weekly with others, so that will have to do. Thanks again for this great site.

Pretty good question. I made a calendar and I cross out day by day. I started with 12 weeks left and now it's only 2! I can't believe it.

So. Many. Spoilers! As if my appetite wasn't whetted enough.

Ok, I'm excited. Very, very excited. I think once the clock goes to the under 2 weeks I'll start getting giddy and twitchy and stuff.

Sablegreen, I don't think I said this enough (it's highly probable I didn't say it at all...) but thank's so much for the huge amount of work you've put into keeping the spoiler section up to date.

I know a lot of people prefer to remain unspoiled (I tried that for a day or two. It didn't take....) so people might not realise just how much information is on it but for those of us with zero self restraint, it's hugely appreciated.

AS my thanks, have yourself a Winchester.

Middle ones taken. Sorry. You can have either one at the end?

This is going to be my weekend comfort read - when I can forget about my patients for a little while and think only about things that will help relax my mind!

Bad, bad, bad working hours!
Thanks for this! Jas

Great interviews with the two guys. I'm very excited for season 7, I think it's going to be great. I loved the interview with Jared, he took time to thank the fans again. I love these guys. I think SPN goes grey would be hilarious!

So excited for Season 7! I was particularly thrilled at reading the whole "Dean is put on trial by an Egyptian god" part, because I'm hoping it means a) confronting some of Dean's (many) issues, and b) could this mean that they will explore more mythology from other cultures? Huzzah! I love Ancient Egypt! Can't wait!!
