Colleen Bement: My readers would love to hear all about your experiences on the set of “Supernatural.” You’ve been in the episode ‘Shut Up, Dr. Phil” and now the anticipated new episode ‘Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets.’ Any shenanigans on set?

Nils Hognestad : Shooting “Supernatural” the first time around in season five and getting the opportunity to act alongside Jensen was such a fun opportunity. Working with the lead cast and the crew of “Supernatural” is such a treat; that show is such a well oiled machine that makes going to set feel like a trip to the spa. And to come back in season 12 for ‘Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets’ as a wholly different character was an actor’s dream come true. In the back of my mind I kept telling myself, the Angel Akobel had better be vastly different from Chris the Hairdresser, or you’ll be harassed by “Supernatural” fans for the rest of your life. As for on-set shenanigans… working in Vancouver and dealing with the rain and mud and costume pieces from the early 1900s posed a hilarious problem when trying to stick to what the script said; with all the fight sequences and expensive costumes that couldn’t be damaged. But from what I’ve seen, the final product is quite beautiful.

Welcome to the “Supernatural Family” Miranda Edwards. This talented actress has a guest role in the upcoming “Supernatural” episode called ‘Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,’ and Denver Nerd Alert News grabbed some time with her. Out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Edwards is an actress and director who is known for her roles in “Orphan Black,” “Mean Girls,” and “Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy.” Get to know Miranda.

Colleen Bement: You will appear on the February 2nd episode of “Supernatural” called ‘Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets.’ My readers would just love to hear all about your experience.

Miranda Edwards: I had such a great time on this show. The team was immediately welcoming and I felt totally comfortable to dive in and play from the start. I got to do some pretty cool stuff and to push myself a bit. This was unlike any other character I’ve played before and I love being able to say that with gigs. It means I get to be challenged and surprised by stuff. Fun for me and hopefully for the audience as well.

For Supernatural fans, it’s easy to forget just how long Castiel has been around, and therefore, how many people (and angels) he must’ve come into contact with during his existence. But in this week’s episode, someone from his past is returning, and from what actress Alicia Witt told EW Morning Live’s host Dalton Ross, it’s not necessarily going to be a pleasant reunion.

Witt is set to play Lily, and according to her, Lily’s history with Castiel is, well, not good. “She has been around for a very long time and is determined to rectify things,” Witt says, before adding that Lily is in town to “get even for something,” or, if you prefer, “settle the score.”

Furthermore, fans are going to understand just why Lily’s so upset. Witt promises, “You do get to see what happened and you get to see Lily, my character, back in the day.” And yes, there is “a lot of angel blade fighting.”

“We’re seeing the earliest version of Cas to date,” Misha Collins told TVLine on location in Vancouver during a break from filming the hour last November.
“We just came from doing a scene in an old church where we are dealing with some of Cas’ old battalion mates from heaven,” the actor teases. “It’s interesting for him to rehash old memories, for sure.”

Viewers will also get a glimpse into what the heavenly creature was like “before he was humanized a little bit,” star Jared Padalecki says.
As executive producer Andrew Dabb previously told TVLine, the angel “was part of the battalion that was watching Earth. He was the guy that harrowed Hell to rescue Dean Winchester. We established that, and now we’re taking a little twist on it and telling a lost story from his past that involves [guest star] Alicia Witt.”

In the above photos, Cas comes face-to-face with Witt’s Lily Sunder, who has “a history with Castiel, and it’s not necessarily a positive history,” the actress shares. “There’s perhaps a bit of friction there,” she says — and that’s putting it mildly.
According to the official episode description, Lily has been steeping herself in black magic for over a century “to exact revenge on a band of angels that murdered her family.” Wanna guess who her next target is?
