But Mary Winchester is not the only family appearing this season. In addition to Lucifer being sprung from Hell, he’s also expecting a son. Now, the Winchesters – with Castiel’s help – must not only contend with Crowley, Lucifer and his spawn, and the arrival of the conniving British Men of Letters (who’ve come to “complicate” their hunting days), but they’ll also have to relearn what it is to be a family again after all these years.

“After twelve captivating seasons on the air, Supernatural has remained a strong seller on all home entertainment platforms and ratings hit for The CW,” said Rosemary Markson, WBHE Senior Vice President, Television Marketing. “We’re thrilled to offer the show’s ravenous fans the latest season to add to their Blu-ray and DVD collections – loaded with hours of new behind-the-scenes bonus content.”

I'm looking forward to the Finale, even if it will crash my heart (as always). And here's what Kim Rhodes said in her and Briana's m&g at Asylum:
"Don't lose faith. There'll be things happening in the finale you wont like and that will devastate you- but don't lose faith! That's all I can tell you..."
And Briana added :" there should be s hashtag saying #RememberWhatKimSaid"...
So... let's see what she was talking about in two (2!!!!) days!

Exclusive: David Haydn-Jones teases Ketch’s future on ‘Supernatural’ from Hypable.

http://static2.hypable.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/9kk.jpg

“Anyone who tells you that torture is never the answer, they haven’t been under the knife.” This was particularly poignant given that Dean went through this in Hell – 30 years on the rack, causing him to break and become a torturer himself. Was this meant to imply that Ketch himself has been tortured, or that he’s reporting on his findings as the torturer? And given that Ketch has claimed to see a lot of himself in Dean, was there any input from the writer or director or Jensen or yourself about the implication of that quote in regards to Dean?

First off, I think it’s very fair to deduce that Ketch has learned a lot from torture, both as the torturer and the recipient of torture. We can only imagine what Ketch’s experience in the British Men of Letters training was, but suffice it to say it was brutal and abusive. There was no direct mirroring of Dean or explicit explanation of that specific analogue but we can definitely see the themes through Ketch that he may be the dark side, alter ego to Dean in many ways.

What’s going on with Ketch and Toni Bevell? Her first mention of him implied that she hated and feared him, he seemed to think she was volatile and crazy – yet now, things are looking very different… Are they, in fact, birds of a feather? They seem extremely cordial.

I think you’ll see “cordial” may be a very loose term here. Haha. It’s the stiff-upper-lip, passive-aggressive, got a job to do “integrity” thing. Have no fear, the friction and backstory of those two will be flushed out.

I’ve written before about how the British Men of Letters remind me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Watchers’ Council, and you have a unique perspective in that you actually once played a Watchers’ Council member in the rather important Buffy episode “Helpless.” Why do you think these governing bodies work so well as antagonists in this kind of genre?

I think we as viewers like to hate the idea of secret, ordered societies that on one hand keep order in a world of chaos, but also we resent them for their power and secrets. It’s the whole Illuminati thing, in a way. Plus, the rigid, authoritarian, British Empire villain I think appeals to the free-wheeling American spirit. Flipping the bird to those stuffy codgers is still appealing considering world history.

Do you have any thoughts on the use of the British Men of Letters as a symbolic device for a lot of the world’s current right-wing hysteria, particularly privilege and xenophobia?

I can’t confirm the writers’ intentions personally, but it is safe to say I certainly see it that way. Any good art form should be reflecting the current culture and asking the audience to reflect on very real current events through the avatars of fictional storytelling.

British classism and traditionalism fascinates me, and there’s certainly a lot of classism within this system. I’ve speculated on the origins of Mick Davies and Ketch – how do you think upper-class Ketch felt about being the inferior lackey to working-class Mick’s command-center strategist? Did Ketch respect him? Does Ketch respect anyone?

Great observation! Yes indeedly-doodly, I am sure it gets on Ketch’s wick that he has to answer to someone he perceives as a weak bureaucrat from a lower class. Filthy street urchin in a suit! Haha. I think Ketch respects Mary for her hunting prowess and skills. He certainly respects his “evil stepmother” Dr. Hess in very unhealthy ways. And he did respect the Winchester boys up to a point, until they hurt his feelings. Poor Ketchie! “Low rent Christian Bale” indeed!

Tomorrow, it’s game on, in terms of the American hunters becoming the hunted. Give us five random words to describe how the rest of the season plays out for Ketch.

Conflicted. Savage. Ruthless. Desperate. Posh ;)

J2 AHBL Saturday Q&A Session
*AHBL has strict rules against photos and videos being taken after the first 5 minutes of each panel. Footage and livetweets will likely be very limited.

J2 panel has started, they’re doing a scene in the Impala as they are sitting in the chairs.
J2 are in an excellent mood :)
Jared is fighting with the chair on stage; is now stuck sitting backwards in the chair lol. Jensen: We’re gonna need some olive oil…and some duct taped because he thinks Jared’s pants are ripped/or undone lol.
Jensen has just moved the glass table out of the way so Jared doesn’t break it lol.
J2 start talking about their campaigns. Jared: I’m just one of the cogs in the wheel.
What motivated you to do AKF and YANA? J2 points at the crowd: Y’all.
Jensen: They wanted to cast the oddly tall younger brother first and the handsome one second.
Jensen mentions Dark Angel. Jared *fangirls*
Jared mentions Gilmore Girls. Jensen *fangirls* and crawls under the coffee table lol.
Jared: I am the original Dean. *mic drop*
Jensen: There’s only one Dean. Dean Cain.
Jared & Jensen fangirling over each other is absolutely hilarious.
Jensen: We’ve never been to space…season 13! It’s coming!
Jared is comparing Star Wars and Harry Potter with SPN. Jensen is not buying it: “We’ve never been to space!”
Jared finds many similar personality traits in Sam Winchester and Luke Skywalker.
Jared: I’ve known Sam Winchester for a long time.
Jared mentions how “Fake Ruby” just had her third kid and smiles and fake sobs lol.
Question: What would you do to be alone with yourself? Jensen is having dirty thoughts :P
To unwind, Jared likes sitting in the pool with his kids…and sending photos to Jensen. Jensen: “I’m probably there!” :)))
Jared: I’m a jogger these days. A fight has ensued over whether jogging and running are the same thing and whether it’s an Olympic event lol. Jensen: Just to be clear - I’m an awesome ice skater!
Jared: The important thing is that I didn’t save your life…you saved your life.
Jared: If you are here, I didn’t save your life. You did. It’s your power. I’m here to tell ya I love ya but you did it <3 YOU’RE the badass.
Jared likes Soulless!Sam, Jensen liked purgatory. (spoilers) Hints there is something coming up that is “sort of purgatory-esque.”
Fan starts to ask: If the Impala didn’t exist on Supernatural- Jensen: I wouldn’t exist!
If it didn’t exist, what car would you drive? Fans: A VW Beetle! J2 *mime being squished in a beetle*
J2 just acted out hunting in a Volkswagen Beetle lol!
They go back and forth: Jared: A Volkswagen Beetle. Jensen: The A-Team Van. Jared: The Millennium Falcon.
Audience suggests that J2 would be great in Outlander. Jared: “There’s a lot of nudity on that show.” Jared says he appreciates Sam Heughan’s glutes :P
Jared: “If I wasn’t on TV, I would have a lot of tattoos.” <3
Jared says he loves tattoos and why people get them.
If two characters could meet in an ep? Jared: Sam and Sully again.
Jensen wants to see Mark Pellegrino’s Lucifer vs JDM’s John Winchester…but JDM gets to use Negan’s Lucille ;)

Question: Got anything on Supernatural? —Sudha
Ausiello: If you’re thinking Mr. Ketch has developed feelings for Mary and might spare her life and the lives of her boys, think again. “With Mr. Ketch, there’s a really strong dividing line between personal and professional,” executive producer Andrew Dabb says. Although the Brit “does kind of respect and admire and like” Dean and Sam’s mom, “he’s been conditioned his entire life to follow orders. So for him to take a stand against following an order like that, it would be really a drastic change to his character. I’m not saying it might not happen, but he is not the one with a very obvious soft underbelly. When the chips are down, he’s going to revert to what he’s very comfortable with, and that’s doing as he’s told and killing a lot of people.”

TVLINE | Mick is dead, and the Brits want all the American hunters killed. So what do the upcoming episodes have in store for the Winchesters and their tentative partnership with the Men of Letters?

It’s obviously a little strained. [The British Men of Letters] want everybody dead. But as they are a massive organization and very corporate in their own way, they’re going about it in a very organizational, methodical way. In Episode 20 [and] 21 into our end run, they start to make those moves and, to be a little vague, people that Sam and Dean know and love pay the price. It’s a way to take this organization and bring the fight home for Sam and Dean and force them to take a role, which they haven’t done that much. Outside of a few friends, they don’t have a lot of contact with the wider hunter community. So it forces our guys into a leadership role. They’ve been soldiers for a long time — and not that they don’t do their fair share of fighting — but toward the end of the season, they’re becoming generals. They’re taking a much stronger role in the wider hunter community as the Brits take the fight to them.

TVLINE | As this fight is going on between the two sides, where does Mary fall, especially considering what recently transpired between her and Mr. Ketch?

Once things go bad, she feels deeply responsible. She got her kids into this. She brought them in. Once the weight of what happened hits her in a couple weeks, she has all her illusions shattered. We’re not creating a scenario where Mary is bending over backwards to defend the British Men of Letters [or] what they’re doing. But all three of our Winchesters realize the mistake they’ve made, and as soon as they realize it, they start to take action to basically get the hell out of there, to varying degrees of success. Mary, more than Sam and Dean, is on the inside, so her journey out may be a little bit more complicated.

TVLINE | Cas has been in Heaven for a little while now. How will he re-enter the action? And is he any different?

When Cas comes back [in this Thursday’s episode], we’re going to get a lot of clarity in terms of not only why he’s been in Heaven for so long, but his own point of view on why he went. Some people are looking at it like, “He went to Heaven because he’s choosing angels over Sam and Dean,” and things like that. What’s going to come out very strongly when he comes back is that what he’s doing, he views as doing for our guys. That’s been a big part of the season overall: Sam and Dean have proven themselves as heroes, certainly to everyone around them. So whether it’s Cas or Crowley or Mary or Mick until his unfortunate demise or anyone else in our story, these are people who realize Sam and Dean’s importance. Sam and Dean have always been willing to sacrifice for each other. Now we’re seeing a lot of people around them that are willing to sacrifice for Sam and Dean, and it’s really about building a sense of community.

So from Cas’ point of view, everything he’s been doing has been for Sam and Dean. When he comes back in, that will be made pretty clear, and then the question is: Where does he go from there? Once he comes back in, he’s going after Kelly. Once he comes into contact with her [and] her kid, a lot of his misconceptions may fall away. A big part of his time in Heaven has been gathering information, but not reorienting his thinking to the point where he’s against Sam and Dean or anything like that. It’s more like having moments of clarity in terms of why he’s doing this and the price he, personally, is willing to pay to keep Sam and Dean alive or to keep them from experiencing pain.

TVLINE | Kelly has escaped again. Meanwhile in Hell, Lucifer and Crowley’s sparring has been building and building. How will that storyline intensify as you head into the end of the season?

The ticking clock over our final run is the birth of [Lucifer’s] kid. We’ve pinpointed it to late May, coincidentally when our episode airs. As that gets closer and closer, everyone is going to activate more and more. A lot of the moves [the British Men of Letters are] making right now are because they know that something big is coming, the Nephilim is coming. So the reverberations of it are starting to be felt. As we dive deeper into the season, it’s going to be felt more and more and more by all of our different players.

PRE-FINALE: As the British Men of Letters start to make their move, “people that Sam and Dean know/love pay the price,” forcing the brothers to take “a much stronger role in the wider hunter community” as generals, executive producer Andrew Dabb previews. Mary also faces a difficult battle with the Brits: She, “more than Sam and Dean, is on the inside, so her journey out may be a little bit more complicated,” Dabb notes. Meanwhile, Cas’ return brings “a lot of clarity” about “why he’s been in Heaven for so long” and “his own point of view on why he went.” And as the impending birth of Lucifer’s Nephilim offspring nears, “everyone is going to activate more and more.” Also on tap: the returns of Jody Mills and her surrogate daughter Alex, and “two surprise appearances, one by a relative newcomer and one by an old favorite.”

SEASON FINALE (MAY 18): The two-hour finale – the first episode deals with the Brits, while the second is Lucifer-centric – is “big and, I hope, somewhat bold and, in some ways, heartbreaking,” Dabb shares. The closer “also opens up some new stories for Season 13 in a very interesting way.”

I was surprised that Supernatural’s Dean caved so easily to working with the British Men of Letters. Is he now all in like the other Winchesters or will Dean continue to push back against the Brits’ way of hunting? —Lisa

We’ve helpfully updated your question: Considering what the Brits are up to now, with the spying and killing, is Dean going to be feeling pretty vindicated about his initial hesitations? “‘Vindicated’ might be the wrong word,” executive producer Andrew Dabb says, explaining that “there’s some of that, but I don’t think there’s so much that it will be off-putting. Dean went into [the partnership with the British Men of Letters] with his eyes open, and Sam and Mary probably bought the hype a little bit more. Dean’s more of a skeptic. Sam has always been a little bit more a believer, and Mary’s the same way. They both want to make a better world, a monster-free world. The Brits are making progress doing that. So what it comes down to, finally, is the price you’re willing to pay — and once the rubber hits the road, that price is probably too high for our guys.”

Supernatural Preview: Is Mary in the Right? And Can She Recruit Her Sons? from TVLine

https://pmctvline2.files.wordpress.com/2017/02/supernatural-spoilers-1.jpg

But during this Thursday’s installment (The CW, 8/7c), “the audience will see and understand a lot about Mary,” Samantha Smith tells TVLine.

The hour contains “a lot of action” and “some nice surprises,” the actress adds. “And selfishly for Mary, she’s really busy in this episode. She has a lot going on and realizes a lot of things.”

TVLINE | John Winchester has gotten a lot of flak over the years for the stuff he did as a father. How would you rate Mary as a mother at this point?
I know, for one, the fandom is not very much in favor of her recent behavior. I understand Mary. I know why she’s doing what she’s doing. I get it. She’s making decisions that she, in her heart, knows are the right thing — or at least she thinks they are — and she knows they’re not going to be popular decisions, but she doesn’t see any other way. Sometimes, as a parent, that’s your job. So from Mary’s perspective, she’s doing what she can, even if her kids don’t like it. But as far as the boys are concerned, they’re probably a little disillusioned. John, as you said, got a lot of flak because he abandoned them a lot, et cetera. Now here’s the difference: The boys are now in their thirties. When John was doing it, they were children. In Mary’s defense, that would be a differentiation to make. [Laughs]

TVLINE | One of the arguments I’ve seen is she’s acting like a Campbell rather than a Winchester. When Dean and Sam’s grandfather Samuel came back in Season 6, he was also very secretive and had a hidden agenda.
I would argue that he was doing that for his own agenda, whereas Mary’s keeping things to herself, ideally, to protect her boys. Maybe that is a misguided idea, and obviously, in Episode 12, it put them in danger. But the goal and the intention is always to help them, to keep them safe, to give them a life away from hunting and danger.

TVLINE | Do you feel like because she’s been gone for most of the boys’ lives — in Sam’s case, his whole life — that they’ve put her on this unfair pedestal?
One hundred percent. She’s been canonized in memory, especially because Dean was four years old. Your mother’s perfect when you’re four. And now she’s come back as a full human, flawed and frightened and selfish and confused, as well as loving and amazing in all the ways that they thought she was. That’s also been something interesting for me, as an actress, to explore. As far as Mary is concerned, I don’t even know if she knows that she’s living up to this image, and that may be one of the reasons that all this is so confusing for her.

Supernatural SpoilersTVLINE | Last week, we saw her finally come clean to Dean and Sam about working with the British Men of Letters. How will that play out in this Thursday’s episode?
As we saw at the end of the last episode, they were not pleased. And yet, it’s not going to stop her from continuing. She so believes it’s the right thing to do that she will not stop trying to get the boys to see it from her side. In fact, she has Sam come [on a hunt]. She wants to show him what they’re doing and why she thinks it might be the right way to go. But it’s a long road to convince them after their history with the British Men of Letters.

TVLINE | Could one of the boys be swayed a bit to her side? It sounds like Sam might be more malleable.
Sam is more open to understanding her point of view. Dean and Mary are so similar and stubborn that it’s harder for them to maybe take a step back and be open to being wrong or seeing someone else’s perspective. Sam is definitely more sensitive and understanding.

Supernatural SpoilersTVLINE | What does the future hold for Dean and Mary, then? Are they on the outs?
He’s very angry with her for working with the British Men of Letters. Dean is much more black-and-white. She’s going to have to earn his faith. He loves her, but I don’t think he understands her yet. Mary loves Dean straight through. There’s no problem, but she still knows she has to do what she has to do. It’s kind of beautiful to me that Mary is willing to jeopardize all of that to do what she thinks is right, ultimately, for the good of her children, even if it makes them not like her.

TVLINE | Going into this season, the fans had a lot of expectations for Mary’s return because she’s such an important character in the show’s mythology. Did you have any expectations of what you thought her storyline would be? And did the show meet them? Did it turn them on their head?
It has not gone the way I had anticipated, per se, although I can’t say I really had an idea other than Mary is going to find her footing. I guess I just assumed I would be hunting with my boys. In retrospect, it wouldn’t have had longevity. That could only go so far, and it wouldn’t have been very deep of the character. That’s not what is interesting, and that’s why I’m not a writer. They have given me such an amazing, deep process for this character. As much as some of the fans are really, really, really angry with Mary right now, I think that had Mary just come back and been like, “OK, I’m part of the team! Let’s go hunt!” she would have been a third wheel and boring. A perfect, loving mom all the time would have added almost nothing.

TVLINE | She’s just making sandwiches in the bunker for them for the road.
Yeah! Vacuuming, washing dishes. [Laughs] No, this has been so much more than I could have thought it was going to be.

TVLINE | The show kills off characters left and right. Are you hopeful that Mary will stick around for the long haul?

Yes. Every script, I skip to the end and see if I’m still alive. [Laughs] But so far, so good!

Question: It’s been a while since I asked, so do you have any scoop on Dean for the upcoming episodes of Supernatural? —Joanna

Ausiello:
Would you settle for something Cas-related instead? No? Too bad, ’cause that’s all I got. If you’re wondering whether Cas killing Billie the Reaper will have cosmic consequences — specifically for the angel himself — you’re not the only one. “As I’m reading upcoming scripts and seeing what’s happening to the characters, I have been asking myself that question, as well,” Misha Collins tells TVLine. “As far as I’ve seen, it’s not resolved yet. But there are a lot of things that crop up that I interpret as possibly having been cosmic consequences of that action.”

Question: Any Supernatural spoilers? —Maria
Ausiello: Misha Collins confirms what co-showrunner Andrew Dabb previously told TVLine about there being another big Castiel episode in the pipeline. “Particularly getting close to the end of the season, things heat up dramatically for Cas,” Collins previews. “The pursuit of Kelly and her spawn turns into a transformative experience for Castiel, and that is meant with every possible type of entendre. We’re going to see a new iteration of Cas coming up.”

At this point, it’s less about where Lucifer is than the fact that he has a child on the way. “In terms of Lucifer: he’s a character that even when he’s back in the cage, he’s been active in our world,” showrunner Andrew Dabb says. “I think the fact that he’s got a kid rolling around out there, he’s not dead. He is still a player in some ways. I think we’re dealing with a world where even if Lucifer is off the table in some ways, his influence will still be felt. In episode 12, we’re introducing a fun extension of our mythology. Some long-forgotten Lucifer lore may come out of the woodwork now that his kid is kind of up for grabs.” Now the question becomes: Who should play him?

'Supernatural' just had the devil become POTUS, but don't read too much into it

New spoilers from Mashable

Now that Sam and Dean have been arrested by the Secret Service, how long are we going to see them behind bars? Is this something that is going to be a longer story arc or is just the crux of the first episode back from hiatus?

It's the crux of the return episode, but as we learn during the course of that episode, they've been behind bars for quite some time. There's about a six-week time jump before we come back, so we're not going to keep them in prison for multiple episodes.

But they've been away from the world for a while so that's had a big impact on our guys. They're being treated essentially as terrorists, so it's not just regular prison. They've been isolated, they haven't spoken to anyone, they haven't even spoken to each other. They've been living with their own thoughts, and Sam and Dean... what goes on in their heads is not super sunny, as we know. Our guys have a lot of baggage and trauma to work through.

What kind of impact does that have on their friends, family and allies, having them essentially disappear from their lives for so long?

Sam and Dean started off as two guys in a cool car killing vampires, but they've evolved into the lynchpin upon which the fate of the cosmos relies, in a lot of ways. Them being off the board creates a power vacuum that people like the British Men of Letters are quick to fill, but it also has ripple effects for Crowley, Castiel, Mary. The world is changing around them but Sam and Dean are stationary. When they do get back into the world, however that happens, they're walking into a world that changed, and our guys will have to adjust to that.

Cas and Crowley spent much of the first half of this season working together to hunt Lucifer, so now that he's gone what is their mission? Is this odd couple still going to be teaming up?

Now that Lucifer's gone, Crowley is very focused on reestablishing Hell and reestablishing his hold on it. Castiel, the disappearance of Sam and Dean spins him out in a lot of ways. Cas has really gotten to taking his cues from Sam and Dean and with them gone, there is a void for Cas. He's asking himself, "What do I do now?" And, "If Sam and Dean were here, what would they do?" This is a Cas who, for a chunk of episodes, is actually functioning like a regular hunter. He's still an angel with powers but now he's out there working regular cases, doing regular case-of-the-week things we've never seen him do before because Sam and Dean are not available. So Cas and Crowley, putting the two of them together on screen is fun and we love to do it, but for the time being they're being pulled in opposite directions.

Now that Mary has committed to returning to life with the boys, once Sam and Dean get out of prison what is that relationship going to look like?

I love getting to explore the dynamic between Sam, Dean and Mary more. Sam and Dean had this idea that if their mom was around, their lives would be much more nurtured. She'd be a nurturing mother, making them pie and things like that. The Mary we're seeing now is not that character. She grew up a hunter. She grew up the same way that Sam and Dean did. She has her own baggage, drive and agenda. That's allowed us to make her a character who is more dynamic and active.

How Sam and Dean react to that is both positive and negative, because in the back half of our season, they love that mom is out there side-by-side with them hunting, but they're also desperately worried that something is going to go wrong. And that goes for Mary too. And then Cas becomes almost like a friend for Mary, because Sam and Dean are her sons and she needs someone she can confide in things that she can't tell her sons. Cas is the closest thing to a friend that Mary has had at this point. So we're evolving those mother-son relationships and that friendship even more moving forward.

It took everything they have, including their freedom, but Sam and Dean finally sent Lucifer back to Hell in the winter finale. Is this the end of his arc on the show?

Even when Lucifer has been off the table, even back in Season 4 when he was locked in the cage, he was still orchestrating things. As we learned last season, even when he's in the cage he's not a benign figure. Even if Lucifer is off the table, he's not inactive. Certainly with his son, his child out there, he is not going to take that laying down. As we'll learn shortly in episode 12, there may be some people very loyal to Lucifer who are making a lot of trouble for Kelly [Courtney Ford] and our boys. The point being is his story is not over.

Speaking of that unholy offspring, I'm getting some serious Rosemary's Baby vibes. Lucifer having a child is going to be a huge problem for the world, right?

We're living in a world where, if you look at what certain people on the show consider to be propaganda about the devil's child, he's a bad thing and it's a dangerous thing. But from Kelly's point of view and motivating her choices, yes this is the child of the devil which on the surface seems pretty bad, but it's also her child. Even Lucifer — before the Mark of Cain, before the fall — was a good person. He was the chosen of God. This child is powerful, absolutely.

Powerful how?

We've mentioned nephilim on our show before. We've met one or two. But we've never really dived headfirst into their mythology. A big part of the second half of our season is about that. We will establish how powerful nephilim are, and how a nephilim born to an archangel is even more powerful. The question is, is this child destined to be a force for evil or is it something to be turned for good? It's like nuclear power – it can blow up a city or it can power a city. What is this child going to do? From Kelly's point of view, the nature vs. nurture debate, she believes that she can steer this child down the correct path. But there are certainly people in our world who we know and love who have other ideas.

Something Supernatural always does well is put a unique spin on old folklore/mythology, like how angels, typically shown as symbols of pure goodness, are actually corporate jerks on the show. What kind of liberties are you going to be taking with the mythology of nephilim?

Usually what happens with the spins we put on our mythology is that mythology in a general sense is already general, so it's hard to put a specific spin on it. When we were talking about angels or demons before they showed up, it was pretty standard biblical stuff. And then when those characters started showing up, it was more about character than it was about mythology.

At this point, nephilim are still very theoretical. It's not until we meet one or two or Kelly has her child, that's when we'll get into more specifics. But that will happen. It's still evolving for us. It's not something where we'll be throwing curve balls right off the bat. At the beginning at least, we're shooting for the established version being that these are creatures of great power, more powerful than angels, so God [Rob Benedict] himself had to reach down to stop them. God is not really on the board for us at the moment as we know from last season, so if Kelly's child is born, can anything stop it? That's something our boys, Castiel, the British Men of Letters and everyone else, even Crowley, are going to be grappling with.

The timeliness of the episode in which Lucifer becomes POTUS was almost too pointed, given what's happening in the world right now. Were you trying to make any intentional statements with that episode?

I would like to say we could predict the future over here at Supernatural, but unfortunately we can't. That episode was written and filmed long before the presidential election happened. It's not really a commentary on anyone specific although I can certainly get how people could see parallels. It was more a comment on if the devil became president, you know what I mean? [Laughs.] Hell, we've made this in a world where that actually has happened, but we did not see that coming. Let's put it that way.

The British Men of Letters started off this season as antagonists for Sam and Dean, but now they all seem to be on the same side. How is this alliance going to play out moving forward?

It's always been our hope or plan or intent that when we talk about the British Men of Letters, we're talking about an organization of individuals. Every individual has their own thoughts and reactions about Sam and Dean and America and our world. We started off with someone who had a very negative view on Sam and Dean and acted on that. Now we'll get to see someone who is a peacemaker, an academic, who looks at Sam and Dean and respects and admires what they do. There will be more compromise. For Sam and Dean, they respond to that. Suddenly there is someone they can work with and who can maybe even help them win. In the back half of our season we're going to bring some people back and make some big moves that will prove that the British Men of Letters way gets results.

Have Sam and Dean's earlier issues with the British Men of Letters been put aside permanently?

Well, the British Men of Letters are much more strict with their views than Sam and Dean, like if you're a monster or have powers or have the potential to be a danger to humanity, you're dead. Sam and Dean obviously have a more nuanced view on that. Everyone wants the world to be safer and rid of monsters but the question is, do the ends justify the means? Sam and Dean will be struggling with that as they get to know and respect the British Men of Letters more and realizing how dark this organization can get. How much darkness can they bear?

David Haydn Jones Joins ‘Supernatural’ As Mystery Character

EXCLUSIVE: David Haydn-Jones has landed a recurring role as the mysterious Mr. Ketch on the CW’s long-running fantasy drama Supernatural. Teased in the fall-finale episode in December, the character is an associate of the British Men of Letters – a shadowy organization of monster hunters operating in the UK. He’s suave, handsome, totally competent — and a sociopath.

Haydn-Jones has starred in several Hallmark movies including last year’s My Christmas Dream, and his recent credits also include guest spots on Modern Family and Mistresses. He will make his onscreen Supernatural debut January 26 in the midseason premiere episode ominously titled “First Blood.”

The actor is repped by the Characters Talent Agency.

TVLine has posted its preview for the returning series in 2017.

SUPERNATURAL

Here’s a scary thought: “What happens when the Winchesters are taken off the board for [six weeks]?” executive producer Andrew Dabb asks. Both brothers being imprisoned is “going to give [the British Men of Letters] some opportunities. It allows other people to move into place,” the EP previews. “So if/when [Dean and Sam] eventually escape, they’re coming into a world that has changed pretty fundamentally.” At least one good thing comes out of their disappearance: It “really spurs [Mary] to action,” Dabb says. “To save her kids, she has to get involved in this fight, and that sets stage for more to come with that character.” Then there’s the gang’s other big problem: Lucifer’s offspring. Everyone – Dean, Sam, Cas, Mary, the Brits – will have a different opinion about what to do with the Nephilim, whose “great amount of power… can be used for good or bad,” Dabb notes.

Supernatural Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles on Men of Letters Battle – Plus: EP Debunks Arrest Theory

Shutting down fan speculation that the group was secretly responsible for the Winchesters’ arrest, executive producer Andrew Dabb reveals that “it was really the government that grabbed them. It was really the Secret Service.”

Supernatural SpoilersHowever, “the Men of Letters, like Mary [and] Castiel, are going to have a very specific reaction” to the hunters’ predicament as they take a more active interest in them — for better or worse.

“We’re going to see that storyline get fleshed out in the second half of the season,” star Jensen Ackles previewed during TVLine’s visit to the show’s Vancouver set. “There are going to be some recruitment attempts, some disagreements about methods of hunting, and that will certainly boil to a point.”

Although the Brits’ way of doing things, not to mention their handy weapons, have proven to be successful recently, “I think we’ll find out in the future that maybe their methods aren’t the best way,” Ackles adds.

For co-star Jared Padalecki, the storyline is “reminiscent of Season 6 when Sam was soulless and kind of behaved much the same way the British Men of Letters are behaving now, at least in their hunting tactics,” the actor says. “It’s fun to revisit that: Would you kill two people to save three? Would you kill 10 to save 12? You’re still killing 10 people. Would you try to find the middle ground?”

That dilemma will play “a big part” in the upcoming episodes as the brothers “see both the good and the bad” side of the British Men of Letters, Dabb previews. “Because the truth is, even if you disagree with their methods – and Sam and Dean certainly will in some cases – they get results. So that becomes the bigger punch [in the second half of the season]: Do the ends justify the means? And if so, what means are our guys willing to tolerate?”

Question: Any word on whether Jim Beaver will be making an appearance on Supernatural this season? It just wouldn’t seem right to not have Bobby at least make one appearance. —Jane
Ausiello: There are “no plans as of right now,” but some other familiar faces will be back this season, executive producer Andrew Dabb tells TVLine. Among them: deaf hunter Eileen Leahy, teen wannabe hunter Claire Novak and Sheriff Donna Hanscum. “Obviously, as we’re building up the British hunters, we’re also building up, or in some cases re-establishing, our American hunters,” the EP says. “It’s a really cool opportunity to bring in people like that, some of whom we’ve seen pretty recently, and some of whom we haven’t seen for quite a while.”

Supernatural Boss Previews Three 'Really Strong' Castiel-Heavy Episodes from TVLine

https://pmctvline2.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/supernatural-spoilers-2.jpg

“We have at least three really strong Castiel episodes” coming up, executive producer Andrew Dabb tells TVLine. The first, airing Feb. 2, “presents a lost chapter of Castiel’s history.”

Viewers have long known that Cas “was part of the battalion that was watching Earth,” the EP notes. “He was the guy that harrowed Hell to rescue Dean Winchester. We established that, and now we’re taking a little twist on it and telling a lost story from his past that involves [guest star] Alicia Witt” as Lily Sunder, an old enemy of the angel.

The following hour is also “extremely Cas-heavy in a different way,” Dabb adds. “Then we have another episode coming up later in the season, Episode 19, that’s extremely Cas-heavy in an even different way.”

Episode #8 - Ten Year Overnight Success

Supernatural and American Crime screenwriter Davy Perez joins us to share stories about his first SPN episode “American Nightmare,” and what might be coming up next in season 12. We talk continuity (how does a brand-new staff writer pull off a well-executed throwback to twelve seasons of canon, and what are some of the past episodes that most shaped Davy’s interpretation of the Winchesters?) the influence of Catholic guilt, and what’s in store for Castiel in Davy’s next episode, which is currently shooting.

Witt says she’s been in Vancouver filming her role on the show, and is tight-lipped about her character, except to say that she “has a relationship with Castiel.” Witt quickly followed up to say that she “did not specify what *kind* of relationship” her character has with Cas, but TVLine has since confirmed that Witt’s character is named Lily Sunder, and she’s an old enemy of Castiel’s.

Supernatural EP Previews Complicated Winchester Family Reunion, 'Very Driven' Cas and More in Season 12 from TVLine

TVLine spoke with executive producer Andrew Dabb about Mama Winchester’s homecoming, Dean and Sam’s two-front war, Castiel’s new ‘tude and more.

TVLINE | How do Dean and Sam each feel about Mary’s return?

They’re happy and conflicted. It’s like a miracle. But the Mary who’s coming back is someone who had walked away from hunting but now walks in a world where her sons are hunters. That’s the last thing she ever wanted. She’s been in Heaven for [33] years. That’s obviously changed her. So Sam and Dean are happy to have her back, but they’re worried [about] how she’ll adjust [to] not only the modern world and technology and that kind of stuff but [also] to them and their lives, and [wondering] if she will be what they have become.

Supernatural SpoilersTVLINE | Back when Mary was a hunter, there were no Men of Letters or angels, as far as she knew. How will she react to those two things?
Especially when it comes to angels, it’s shock. Mary was very much like our standard hunters. Sam and Dean ended up playing in a little bit of an elevated playing field [with] demons and angels and God. Your normal hunter’s not really dealing with that. They’re dealing with vampires and werewolves and more terrestrial threats, you could say. So that’s really where Mary comes from. She’s never met an angel before until she meets Castiel. That’s an adjustment for her.

In terms of the Men of Letters, she heard vague stories. They had been gone [for several decades]. Even when the Men of Letters were around, they weren’t really that engaged with the American hunter community. They kept a little separate. So to find out they’re real, to find out John has a history with them, to walk into the bunker and see this cache of things she never knew existed, it is a shock to her. It’s about fifth on the list, because there are so many shocking things. But it’s definitely something she has to grapple with.

Supernatural SpoilersTVLINE | Is the Men of Letters’ British chapter the biggest threat to Dean and Sam in Season 12?
They’re a threat. Lady Toni Bevell has got it in for our boys. But Lucifer is still out there, and whenever Lucifer’s on the playing field, it’s hard to think anybody is going to top him. Going into this season, it’s a dual-pronged approach. [Dean and Sam are] pulled in two different directions.

TVLINE | Coming off a season where you have a Big Bad as grand as The Darkness and God as a character, is the idea to introduce not necessarily smaller but more down-to-Earth villains and threats for the Winchesters?
I think so. For us, it’s a chance to explore… the world of hunting and the world of the Men of Letters, [which is] something we’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of. It’s really fun for us, and it’s a way to deepen that. There are other people in the British Men of Letters who want to take a different approach [with the Winchesters]. So I don’t want to say from the jump that the British Men of Letters are all bad, because, as we’ll learn, sometimes Sam and Dean will be working with them, sometimes they’ll be working against them.

Supernatural SpoilersTVLINE | What does Lucifer get up to with his rock-star vessel?

At first, he’s bouncing from vessel to vessel. He’s wounded in the final fight with Amara. When he finally finds someplace to stop, he looks around, and he’s like, “God’s gone. I have a free playing field here. I could go take over Heaven or Hell, but is that what I really want?” What he discovers is that, in some ways, God had the right idea — worship is fun. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of baggage with the name Lucifer. So for him, popping into someone like the rock star Vince Vincente allows him experience that almost God-like worship in another body.

TVLINE | What is Cas’ attitude in the new season? At Comic-Con, Misha Collins compared him to the Cas of Season 4, who was a pretty different guy.
Early on, Cas is very driven to find Sam. We’ll see him take some action we haven’t seen in a while. This season, we wanted to tell some stories that were a little bit more personal with Castiel, both in terms of his relationship with Sam and Dean and digging into his past a little bit. He and Mary have a connection. It’s not a romantic connection, but they have a lot in common. They’re both kind of strangers in a strange land, in a way, especially early on.

For Cas, we wanted to focus him down a little bit more. He’s driven to find Lucifer. He feels responsible for Lucifer getting out of the cage, although pretty much everyone else on our show feels responsible for that, too. Obviously, as threats to Sam and Dean come up, he will be there to stand by our boys’ side.

Dabb talking about Mary's return. Supernatural boss talks Mary's return: 'She is their origin myth' from EW.

http://www.thewinchesterfamilybusiness.com/images/SeasonTwelve/12-01KeepCalmAndCarryOn/spn_1201_7.jpg

But according to Supernatural showrunner Andrew Dabb, she’s 100 percent human. “It’s her. She was brought back,” Dabb says. “There is nothing demonic, nothing angelic. We’re treating her very much as a character and the character who has been a part of Sam and Dean’s story for 11 seasons. This is really her and she’s having a real impact on our boys.”

In fact, Dabb says the plan to bring Mary back into the fold has been floating around for “at least two years” in the writers’ room. “It didn’t feel right until the end of last season,” he says.

Speaking to how Mary will affect the show, Dabb says: “At the heart, the dynamic of the show is unchanged in that it’s always going to be about the brothers, it’s always going to be about the family they’ve put together, and Mary doesn’t so much upset that as complement it. When she comes in, it’s family through another lens. She is their origin myth, her death led to everything, so when she comes back, the boys having a mother again which they really haven’t had.”

Dabb continued: “At first, they’re really excited to have her back, but also aren’t quite sure how she’s going to respond to them because they know the last thing she wanted was for her kids to be hunters and now she’s walking into a world where her kids are hunters. So there’s a little [bit of] feeling each other out through the first part of the season before coming to a place that’s probably a little more settled.”

Yes, Mary does find herself pulled back into the world of hunting, but at least she finds a new friend along the way. As Dabb puts it: “We never want to shift the focus of the show off Sam and Dean, so by bringing Mary in, it’s more along the lines of: How does she affect Sam? How does she affect Dean? She and Castiel form a really interesting friendship and we think she’s a nice pivot point around which we can spin our characters.”

Supernatural: Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki say art imitates life with Mary's return from EW

http://www.thewinchesterfamilybusiness.com/images/SeasonTwelve/12-01KeepCalmAndCarryOn/spn_1201_14.jpg

JENSEN ACKLES: I’ve found that it’s very much art imitating life. We’ve gotten the opportunity to work with her on a few different occasions and so my relationship, personally with her, Jensen and Samantha, is just a few little snippets here and there that have been fantastic, and I have a love for her and such a great respect and the memory of the times that she’s come onto the show and we’ve done several episodes with her have been fantastic. So it’s almost like Dean with these peppered, vague memories of her, and now all of a sudden she’s back and it’s been almost a learning curve for me to work with her on set, because I should have this kind of easy camaraderie with her in our work environment but we’ve never really established that. It’s only been the idea of it being cool and copacetic.

JARED PADALECKI: And I’ll speak for Samantha as well really quickly because I think it’s an important tangent. The first couple of episodes [of season 12] see me getting tortured and I think [Dean’s] dead, he doesn’t know where I am. I was talking to Samantha, who’s a friend, and she’s like, “It’s been really weird, because I’ve been a part of this show since day one.” She was a part of Supernatural before we were a part of Supernatural. I’ll give the credit to the writers in a sense because they’re able to figure out how it might feel and it’s probably weird for Samantha and Mary to now be part of something that they…

ACKLES: They were only talked about. They were never really physically a part of.

PADALECKI: I revert back to when I was 22, or however old I was when I did the show, and Sam didn’t want to be in this life and didn’t want anything to do with it. There was a part where Jared didn’t want to be moving to Vancouver and working 18-hour days and getting on the phone for New York interviews at 6 a.m. and then flying down for a photo shoot. Life imitated art, and I feel like that’s one of the reasons why Supernatural has gone so long is because our writers are savvy enough and smart enough to realize hey, we have an opportunity to mirror what somebody might go through. So they’re really woven that into the story line with Samantha and I told her, “That’s just good writing because Mary would feel weird after not being here for 33 years and being with her sons and living in a bunker.” It took us a long time to find peace in the bunker, and so for Mary to do it…

ACKLES: It is art imitating life, life imitating art in the fact that we really love Samantha, we’ve gotten to see her, we have a great fondness of her and relationship with her, but to have her around all the time, it’s like, oh wow. Off set, [it’s] fantastic, awesome. But it’s really the chemistry on set — you never really know how that chemistry is going to play itself out when you start really working with somebody and start really talking about the dialogue, really start talking about the movement of the scene. Jared and I, we’ve been doing this consistently for a long, long time. There is a silent language that he and I have.

PADALECKI: The language of love…

ACKLES: Let’s not do that.

PADALECKI: Okay yeah, I’m sorry. Can you rewind? [Laughs]

ACKLES: Is there an edit button? Jared kind of hit on the tonality of the story line, but I feel like there’s such an interesting dynamic going on with Dean and mom that almost mirrors the dynamic that’s happening off-camera. I can’t tell you how happy I am to have Samantha back on set; she’s such a lovely, lovely human being and such a pleasure to work with. But it is funny, there’s not that familiarity that he and I have or Misha [Collins] or Mark [Sheppard].

PADALECKI: Which works.

ACKLES: To put this female character in the bunker with the boys it’s like, “Uh, have you seen her this morning?” “No have you?” “No. Alright well, do we make her coffee as well?” There’s this oddity to it but I think it’s an entertaining oddity and I think the fans will enjoy it. I hope they do. It’s been uniquely interesting and fun.

Supernatural to channel Spinal Tap for rock 'n' roll-centric episodes

“[It] seems like such a natural thing to do an episode based around rock ‘n’ roll,” showrunner Andrew Dabb tells EW. “That is the tenor of the show. It’s something we’ve played with off and on, but it’s something that always felt a little bit bigger than one episode because it is such a big part of our show.”

“When we made the decision to have Lucifer inhabit a rock star and live in that world for a number of episodes, that felt really fun and like a natural evolution for the show, something where we can have fun with the Spinal Tap of it all, the sleazy behind-the-scenes music business of it all,” Dabb says. “That was in the ether, and then it crystallized this season.”

Supernatural Casts Kadeem Hardison as a Man With a Plan for Lucifer from TVLine.

http://www.thewinchesterfamilybusiness.com/images/DiscussionPage/Season12/General/supernatural-kadeem-hardison.jpg

Kadeem Hardison will guest-star on a Season 12 episode of Supernatural as a man from Crowley’s past who has put a lot of thought into Lucifer’s future, EW.com reports.
Hardison’s Russell Lemmons is a music bigwig who apparently has big plans for Lucifer’s newest incarnation: a rocker named Vince Vincente, who (as previously reported) will be played by General Hospital vet/Jesse’s girl admirer Rick Springfield.
“The first vessel that [Lucifer] feels comfortable with,” executive producer Robert Singer said at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, “is a rock star who’s a little bit on the down side who’s trying to come back.”

Spoilers from EW.

Any crazy meta episodes planned for season 12 of Supernatural? — Tammy
If you’re hoping for the next “Fan Fiction” or “Baby,” you might have to wait a bit. But this is Supernatural, so there’s always a few creative ideas on the table. “You never want to do something conceptual that you’re not going to knock out of the park,” showrunner Andrew Dabb says. “That being said, we have some things that are totally different. We’re working on [an episode] right now that is a little Reservoir Dogs-y. [It’s a] non-linear, interesting approach to a story we’ve never done before.”
Comment
It's hard to make a great meta episode like Fan Fiction or Baby when that writer no longer writes for the show. Sounds like they don't have anyone quite that talented on the writing staff right now.

'Supernatural' guest actor Colin Lawrence chats life on the set from Blastingnews

http://www.thewinchesterfamilybusiness.com/images/DiscussionPage/Season12/General/actor-colin-lawrence-photo.jpg

Colin says "Supernatural" stars Jared and Jensen are super nice
Colleen Bement: I see that you've been in three episodes of "#Supernatural". What was your experience like on the set? Is it as well-run and fun as everyone says it is?

Colin Lawrence: This show is always blast to work on! Jensen and Jared are the nicest most professional guys you could ever want to work with and this is clearly why the show is such a hit. The guys have a great sense of humor, but more than that, they have humility and are very genuine. It’s always a pleasure to work with them. And yes, the show is well run from the hair and makeup ladies to the grips, everyone works their butt off gladly!

Supernatural: Castiel and Crowley team up in season 12's own 'buddy cop comedy' from EW

But so long as Lucifer’s around, Crowley won’t have full control of hell, and considering Crowley’s main concern is reclaiming his throne, there’s a battle to be had. The twist? Castiel is none too happy with Lucifer after their, er, time together, so season 12 will actually see Cas and Crowley working together.

“Castiel and Crowley have kind of teamed up in season 12 and are working together,” Misha Collins tells EW. And according to both Collins and Mark Sheppard, fans can expect a sort of ’70s sitcom/’80s buddy cop comedy when the duo takes on the once-favorite son of God.

New From TVLine

Will we see Castiel more this season on Supernatural? —Amy
It sure sounds like it. Showrunner Andrew Dabb told Vlada Gelman the goal for Season 12 was “to tell some stories that were a little bit more personal with Castiel, both in terms of his relationship with Sam and Dean and digging into his past a bit.” The angel will also hit it off with another Winchester. “He and Mary have a connection. It’s not a romantic one, but they have a lot in common. They’re both strangers in a strange land, in a way.” And following some very grand celestial plots, “We wanted to focus [Cas] down a bit more,” Dabb explains. “He feels responsible for Lucifer getting out of the cage, although as we’ll learn, pretty much everyone else on our show feels responsible for that, too. Obviously, as threats to Sam and Dean come up, he will be there to stand by our boys’ side.”

Supernatural: Will God and Amara appear in season 12? from EW.

http://www.thewinchesterfamilybusiness.com/images/DiscussionPage/Season12/General/sn1123b_0225b.jpg

“We’re not going to play it heavily in season 12,” showrunner Andrew Dabb says of God and Amara’s story. “I wouldn’t say conclusively that their story is over, but I would say that their story is happening off-screen. God, in a lot of ways, trusts Sam and Dean more than he trusts himself. God has made mistakes. God has caused more destruction with the Amara thing, with the apocalypse and leaving the angels in charge, than Sam and Dean have. They have saved more people than he has, basically. He puts all his trust in them, or a lot of his trust in them, so I think he feels very comfortable stepping away.”

Fall TV Spoilers 2016: Exclusive Scoop On 41 Season Premieres from TVLine

SUPERNATURAL

“Dean, Mary and Cas are on the ‘Save Sam train,’ and that really drives them for the first three episodes,” executive producer Andrew Dabb previews. Once reunited, the Winchesters find themselves “pulled in two different directions” thanks to the dual threat of the British Men of Letters and Lucifer, who has taken on the vessel of a down-on-his-luck rock star (Rick Springfield). Everyone wants a piece of the fallen angel, including Crowley, who is looking to reclaim Hell and get payback for being humiliated. Lady Toni’s brethren, however, may turn out to be occasional allies in addition to stirring up trouble. “Sometimes, Sam and Dean will be working with them. Sometimes, they’ll be working against them,” Dabb hints. Meanwhile, the miraculous return of Mama Winchester has the brothers feeling “happy and conflicted” as she adjusts to a world that includes modern technology and angels. Speaking of heavenly creatures: Season 12 will spin “more personal” Cas stories and dig into his past a bit.

BONUS SPOILER!: “We’re putting the focus more on the world of hunters, so some of our past fan favorite hunters will, hopefully, swing through the show,” Dabb teases.

Anything on Supernatural’s big bad in season 12? — Cady
Only if you mean big bads, plural. “At the beginning of the season, Lucifer’s still out there. You’ve got the British Men of Letters, and you’ve got a couple other players,” showrunner Andrew Dabb says. “It’s less Sam and Dean having to go up against one enemy and it’s more Sam and Dean, especially as the season progresses, feeling they’re surrounded by enemies, some of whom may be people they have viewed as allies up until this point.” *Please don’t be Cas. Supernatural: A Castiel-centric episode is coming! from EW.

http://www.thewinchesterfamilybusiness.com/images/DiscussionPage/Season12/General/sn1114a_0217b.jpg

For those Supernatural fans who are always wanting more Castiel, we’ve got good news. Season 12 is going to give you a bit more about Castiel’s (Misha Collins) past. After all, he’s an angel, so there’s a lot of history to work with.

When talking about his approach to season 12, new showrunner — but longtime writer — Andrew Dabb tells EW that coming off a story as big as God and his sister in season 11, this year is a bit more personal. “It’s about telling smaller stories that impact more of our characters,” Dabb says. “For example, this year, especially toward the middle of the season, we’re using Castiel in stand-alone episodes in a way that he hasn’t been used in a long time.”

Question: Any intel on the English Rose on Supernatural? —Sue
Ausiello: Lady Toni Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore) and her brethren across the pond certainly “didn’t start off on the right foot” with the Winchesters, seeing as how she shot Sam in last May’s finale, notes Jared Padalecki. Indeed, as co-showrunner Andrew Dabb explains, “Toni is very against Dean and Sam and has studied them and has very strong opinions about them, [which are] not positive.” That said, Dabb teases that a compromise of sorts may be in the offing seeing as how “there are other people in the British Men of Letters who want to take a different approach [with the Winchesters].”

Sammy hale:

Jensen (spoilers) this season they’re going to “venture into the hunter’s world” the network that exists out there. Not necessarily for a spinoff but just to explore it.
Briana and Kim come on stage and J2 clap for them and give them a nod for Wayward Daughters. Jensen would love to see something more happen from what the show has created. Like maybe a movie, a show inspired by the characters of the show, he wants to see this family continue. Jared agrees.

Jensen says Jared doesn’t have funny shaped toes, they are a second set of hands. You could rip his arms off and he would still get through life fine. Jared says (minor spoilers) you will see his feet in episode two.

In ep 5 (spoilers) there is a scene involving Dean and pie that Jensen and Jared came up with.

Eduardo, the Blair Witch director, is coming back for s12 to do an episode.

'Supernatural' Season 12: Rick Springfield Won't Be Lucifer's Only Vessel, Actor Previews Season 12 [VIDEO]

How do you swindle a man into playing host to the Devil? Well, on Supernatural, it helps to choose a man (or angel) who feels they have nothing left to lose.

Rick Springfield will take on the role of Lucifer's new vessel in season 12, and the Prince of Darkness will play to the rocker's sorrows in order to elicit the big "Yes."

Like Luci's season 4 vessel, Springfield's character will fall under the Devil's sway due to personal tragedy, which puts him "a little bit on the down side." The real-life rocker and Rikki and the Flash star dished on his new role while speaking with Billboard.

Catch Supernatural's season 12 premiere Oct. 13 on The CW.

Supernatural’ Season 12, Spoilers and News Update: A Different Sam and Dean on a Mission, While Lucifer Plays the Body Thief

"Supernatural" Season 12 is all set to be back this Oct. and, it holds a lot of interesting stuff for fans. Executive producer Robert Singer has revealed exciting details about the upcoming season and said that fans will see a lot more than they expected.

Singer said that the upcoming season will see a different Dean and Sam as they will be more "single-minded" for the mission that they are on. He further stated that for the first time the brothers will be on the same page on "Supernatural" Season 12, even though they will have their share of disagreements and agreements.

The Season 12 of "Supernatural" will be back on the CW from Oct. 13, at 9 p.m

Supernatural's Mark Sheppard on How Crowley Is Going to Get Back to Hell

Crowley and Billie (Lisa Berry), the soul reaper, appeared to be flirting in the finale. Might something be percolating between them?
She’s taken over for Death [who was killed at the end of Season 10], so she’s a woman who has everything Crowley wants. He’s definitely enamored, so there might even be a relationship! That would be fun. We haven’t had enough of sexy Crowley.

Which was worse for Crowley this season: his mother trying to kill him or Lucifer sadistically making him lick Hell’s floor?
People keep asking, “What does the floor taste like?” My response is, “It’s not the worst floor you’ve ever tasted.” Lucifer putting a dog collar on him was the worst. His mother trying to kill him is just an occupational hazard.

God, aka Chuck Shurley (Rob Benedict), and his destructive sister, Amara (Emily Swallow), made peace in the season finale. Can Crowley and Rowena?
Could be, but you can’t trust her as far as you can throw her. The possibility is always there that they might kill each other given an opportunity. He could fix the Rowena problem, but it’s been quite fun that he hasn’t.

What’s Crowley’s goal next season?
He wants to be in charge. But he has a few overpowering obstacles. Lucifer is the biggest one. He was cast out of Castiel’s (Misha Collins) body, but we don’t know where he went. He could be hiding in plain sight in some new body [That body will look a lot like Rick Springfield, according to casting news from earlier this summer].

If Crowley was unhappy on the throne in Hell, why does he want back in?
That’s his destiny. He likes to pretend he doesn’t care, but he’d be a bit lost without the job. Maybe he’s destined to fail, but it’s so amusing watching him try to regain the throne.

What feedback do Supernatural fans give you?
I spend most of my time knocking Misha, which is fun because of the angel status. They boo and hiss me for that. As for Crowley—it’s that he killed Meg. [Meg, played by both Nicki Aycox and Rachel Miner, was a demon who eventually allied with Castiel and the Winchesters; Crowley ended her in Season 8.]

'Supernatural' Season 12: What Will Put Sam & Dean At Odds? EP Teases 'Different Reactions' [VIDEO]

"Initially, Sam is in trouble and Dean is extremely driven to save his brother. As this thing becomes more personal, and we come to understand the British Men of Letters and their point of view, our guys will have different reactions," co-showrunner Andrew Dabb told SFX Magazine. "I believe when the cards are down, Sam and Dean are on the same page all the time, which is to do the right thing. But what is the right thing for either one of them is not always agreed upon."

"We don't want to drive an unnecessary wedge between Sam and Dean, and I don't believe Mary will do that, but there will be a difference of opinion and there will be things raised that not everybody is on board with," Dabb teased. "The show revolves around Sam and Dean, and how they react to her is really the core of the seasons."

OK, in one of the Js panels at MinnCon (I forget if it was gold or main panel) Jared said that at some point in the first 5 episodes we will be "seeing" the grenade launcher. He did not seem to be kidding. He didn't say whether they would actually use it, but even a reference to it will crack me up since it gets mentioned by posters (like Alycat!) fairly regularly. So it's not exactly a spoiler, but it will be fun if they even mention it in an episode. Of course, I'm hoping that they actually use the sucker!

Oh right I remember that moment. Then they proceeded to make bottle rockets out of their water bottles. I'll bet Jensen is stoked.

I don't care who uses it (although it certainly seems much more of a Dean thing to do), I just want to see it happen. I can't even imagine a scenario in which they would need a grenade launcher, so I'm very curious about it. I just hope Jared wasn't teasing.

I remember the picture from season 11 where people thought it has been used but funnily it didn't even show on the episode. We know that the first two episodes are little bit like taken so MAYBE we finally see Dean blasting a door and breaking in the place they hold Sam? Or maybe Sam blasts them away. :D

Question: How long will Mary be sticking around on Supernatural? Is Samantha Smith a series regular? —Amanda
Ausiello: She’s not a regular but showrunner Andrew Dabb confirms that Sam and Dean’s mom “is certainly a presence for a while,” adding, “She’s not a one-episode character, let’s put it that way. That’s something we’re going to explore over the course of the season.”

Supernatural Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles on Mary's 'Tricky' Family Reunion — Plus: What's Mom Hiding? from TVLine

“The story’s always been, ‘Once Mary married John and settled down, she stopped hunting,'” showrunner Andrew Dabb says. “But we’re going to find out maybe that’s not the whole story.”

In the present day, Mama Winchester will be haunted by her fiery demise and “the ripple effects” of her death. For starters, it sent her two sons down a hunter path that she didn’t want for them, which is “going to be difficult for her to process,” Jensen Ackles previews.

“Sam blames Dad for all the hunting stuff, but really, you could argue it’s Mom’s fault,” Jared Padalecki points out. “She was the hunter. It was the Campbell family, not the Winchester family. It wasn’t her fault, but it was her lineage that led us to where we are now.”

But rather than focusing on who’s responsible for their current gig, “the boys know that this is their life, this is what they’re good at [and] this is the way they can best help the world,” Padalecki continues. Still, it is a dangerous job, so it’s not surprising that “we’re going to see Sam probably not want his mom to go out and hunt.”
“It’s my mom, man! I don’t want to see her get punched or shot or bit by a vampire!” Padalecki says.

Meanwhile, Dean’s got his own response to Mary’s return, and it ain’t pretty: “If you saw the trailer [at Comic-Con], [his] reaction is done face down in the dirt because she flips him,” Ackles shares. (Good to know death hasn’t dulled Mary’s fighting skills!)
“It’s interesting because, yeah, she’s his mother, but she’s also a stranger,” Ackles adds. “That adjustment is going to be very tricky.”

Rick Springfield Talks 'Supernatural' Gig, Making a Blues Album & 35 Years of 'Working Class Dog' in Billboard

"I play this rock guy who gets possessed by Lucifer, because Lucifer has just escaped from wherever they put him last season," Springfield -- whose recent small-screen gigs include some eccentric characters on Californication and True Detective -- tells Billboard. "He's always looking for a human host to do this bad stuff to the world, and I happen to be that human host. It's really fun, well-written. And the effects are insane; the other day I spent two hours in the makeup chair getting ready for this one scene. It's really incredible stuff."

Springfield has no qualms about being part of another successful TV series. "I'd heard of the show, but I never realized how big it was," he says. "I mean, it's been on for 12 years, and it's worldwide. It's got a giant fanbase. Where have I been?"
