Twas the night before Christmas and all through the land
The apocalypse looms ever closer at hand.

As stockings are hung by the chimney with care,
Two brothers have a war for which prepare

While vision of sugar plums dance in our head,
The brothers have numerous visions of dread.

Christmas’ filled with fathers and mothers
Where never experienced by the two brothers.

No pawing and prancing of each little hoof,
Could ever have been heard on a tin motel roof.

No sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
Was ever in the lives of the brothers to view

Past Christmas’ were spent in the warmth of each other.
Developing strong bonding of brother to brother.

As bonds of the brothers grow out of sight,
It’s without a special Christmas gift lost in the fight.

Their lives have been torn since they answered the call
To defeat one whose pride goeth before his fall.

Their season is not filled with warmth and good cheer
As many have died that they held very dear.

Now as four horsemen approach from afar,
The boys have forgotten how special they are

Their strength and devotion have called other brethren
Who also oppose those who prefer hell to heaven

Because what was above has now come below
It’s come with hatred and anger and woe.

But one family to another sent a very heavenly friend
Vowing trust and loyalty to the bitter end.

So as we all settle, all snug in our beds
We need to remember for them what’s ahead

Their lives are devoted to goodness and light
And for our fate, they carry on the fight.

So to our heroes, the boys of great might,
Merry Christmas to them, a very special good night.

Loved it! No Christmas tree at my house, but maybe I'll just have to go out and get one, you know, to decorate with fishing bobs and car freshener... (*yawn*) to y'all a good night, now.

This was beautiful, Sablegreen, sniff... Where are those tissues when you need them!
I’m a major weeper around Christmas time, I should know better… give me a gift like this and I’ll give you tears of joy … damn,…. Kleenexes, where are ye…?

No, seriously, this moved me (sentimental lass that I am). Thank you so much for this most beautiful composition…

I wish I could give you something back, but all I can come up with right now is an inspiration you gave me with your charming piece and a few words I put together in my ten minute break between one patient and another (please don’t pay attention to obvious missing rhythm).
So, here is a humble, tiny x-mas gift for you, Sablegreen, sweetie,

They will survive the twilight, and the impossible moon
They will fight back the demons, the fiends’ force to be strewn,
Side by side, in the dreadful night,
Whatever price they have to pay
They will to save the light of day
For the world to lose her fright…

Tlot, tlot, the horsemen come, their beasts’ hooves drumming loud,
Tlot, tlot, in the darkness deep, but the boys’ heads are unbowed,
They’ve got light on their shields to protect them
A stout heart beneath the nighttime sky
Wounded, though with spirits high,
Love and courage sewn into their coats’ hem.

Right now it’s hell time here at work, major crisis taking turns with minor crisis, but basically my patients are going through a hard time right now, and I’m trying to get them prepared for the upcoming days, as I’ll be on vacation till New Year’s Eve.

Since I’m not able to take my computer with me, I don’t know how often I’ll have access to the web (the thought alone is dreadful, I’ve grown so accustomed to ‘talking’ with everyone here, and I love it, that the prospect of not doing it regularly is strangely woeful, oh, well) …

So this is me, (just in case I won’t have time to look at this site tonight) in a way signing off (but hopefully I’ll make the time)
and wishing everyone here, all you guys who love to comment on a regular basis and everyone who felt inspired to de-lurk, a very merry, happy Christmas time.

Sablegreen, take good care and come back with more stuff like this in the upcoming year, which will hold huge amounts of joy for you, I’m certain of it….

Hugs, Jas

Hi Sablegreen

Hey a fellow poet!
With all that has happened to Sam and Dean it makes you wonder what kind of Holidays they would have. If any!
This was great! Thanks so much for sharing.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Good God, y'all are creative at the moment, must be all the egg-nog ... I'm too cold and knackered to come up with anything except good wishes ...

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE :D

As little Ben would say, that was epic! Hope everyone gets what they want from Santa. Sure, it's a day early, but never hurts to start the bribing sooner rather than later!

I have been following the show for sometime now but did not realize until the other day that you had a web page. I have read a lot of the comments written regarding it and enjoyed them imensely. I especially thought the poem "Twas the Night" was terrific.

Hi, Sablegreen,

Thanks for writing your version of The Night Before Christmas.

It rolled along excellently...hard to believe that Christmas is now over (as I write this) but I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and will have a safe and happy New Year!
