Six Degrees of Supernatural

This article is just some light entertainment to pass some of the remaining Hellatus time. Every now and again when I feel a little silly, I play a version of the Six Degrees game. I pick one of my favourite shows and try to connect it in six people or less to each of my other favourite shows. Here are two of my current favourite shows and their connections to Supernatural. The obvious ones, Gilmore Girls and Dark Angel didn’t serve as my link even once! I even realized how closely linked to Supernatural I am personally – by just a handful of people.
Supernatural and White Collar:
This one has a few connection paths:
(1) The heart-stoppingly beautiful Matt Bomer (Neal Caffery on White Collar) played Luc, romantic interest of (2)Eliza Dusku’s Tru on the show Tru Calling and she also portrayed Faith on BTVS which featured (3) James Marsters as Spike who also played on Smallville which, as we know, featured a young (4)Jensen Ackles as Jason Teague.
(1)Hilary Burton is slated to play on White Collar beginning the next episode and she recently had a baby with the handsome (2) Jeffery Dean Morgan a.k.a. John Winchester
While in an interview, Tim DeKay and Matt Bomer (White Collar leads) burst into a rendition of Carry On My Wayward Son (admittedly, this is weak but was also highly amusing).
Supernatural and Glee:
(1)Neal Patrick Harris was on Glee and is also on How I Met Your Mother which features (2)Alyson Hannigan who memorably played Willow Rosenburg on Buffy, a character who dated (3)Tara McClay, portrayed by Amber Benson also known, in the Supernautral world as the vampire Lenore.
Supernatural, Crossing Jordan and Me!
This one is my favourite six degrees:
(1)Misha Collins guest starred on Charmed which featured (2)Holly Marie Combs as a main character who also interacted with (3) Steve Valentine (guest star) who also acted on Crossing Jordan which starred (4)Jill Hennessey who attended my brother’s high school two blocks over!
It’s actually quite curious how closely tied most everything in the entertainment industry is and I enjoy playing! Obviously, many other shows such as Buffy and Charmed have varying degrees to Supernatural too – but that felt redundant.

(1)Jared Padalecki was in Cheaper by the Dozen with (2) Wayne Knight who was in Jurassic Park with (3) Joseph Mazzelo (he played Tim) who is the son of my dance instructor when I was a teenager.
Another (more direct) way is (1) Richard Speight Jr was in Band of Brothers with (2) Jimmy Fallon who was a friend of my husbands in High School.
Supernatural to Bones: the first season of Bones has Rachel Miner, Fred Lehne, and Aldis Hodge. Supernatural to Leverage is kind of obvious. Supernatural to Criminal Minds, Fred Lehne was in Firefly with Gina Torres who was a cop on Criminal Minds in the same episode where Mitch Pileggi was the unsub. Supernatural to Big Bang Theory, Misha Collins and Kaley Cuoco were both on Charmed. Supernatural to Vampire Diaries, I hear Gina Torres was on that too. Supernatural to NCIS, um, that one I actually have to think about. Oh, no, I don't, Misha Collins was on NCIS. Supernatural to Stargate SG-1, Samantha Ferris was on there. Um. I think I ran out of shows I watch, unless we count Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert. *skims IMDB* Janeane Garofalo was on the Daily Show and is about to be on Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior with a whole bunch of people who were on Criminal Minds with a whole bunch of people who were in the ep with Torres and Pileggi, but that's way roundabout, let's see if there's a better one. HA NPH was on the Daily Show. Which provides links to Olbermann, Maddow, and Colbert because all three were also on the Daily Show. WTF IMDB WHY THE SHORTAGE OF LISTED EPS OF OLBERMANN & MADDOW.
But I especially wanted to comment on your description of Matt Bomer: "The heart-stoppingly beautiful Matt Bomer" Never were truer words spoken!
And if you want to take a different route connecting him (though this one is sort of a circuitous Joss Whedon sort of path), you could say 1) Matt Bomer played Bryce Larkin in 'Chuck' alongside 2) Adam Baldwin, who was on 'Firefly' as Jayne Cobb, a character opposite Hoban Washburne, played by 3) Alan Tudyk, who played Alpha on 'Dollhouse', a show that 4) Amy Acker was on a few years following her appearance in Supernatural's 'Dead in the Water' as Andrea Barr.
Anielle - I too get excited when I recognize faces - I am usually pretty good at recalling their names and resumes (not in a stalkerish way, the info just sticks for some reason - wish it would happen with marketable information!).
Yes, Matt Bomer makes my heart jump! Put the man in that fedora and I full on swoon. And you're right, there a number of ways to connect Supernatural and White collar including both Charles Malik Whitfield and Mark Sheppard, who were both in episodes of White Collar in season one. And there is always the connection through Lost - that is that both Mark Pellegrino and Titus Welliver from Supernatural were each on Lost, which also guest-starred Marsha Thomason who played Naomi on Lost and now Dianna on White Collar.
Completely missed that Adam Baldwin was Jayne on Firefly and on Chuck! Couldn't place him to save my life (I recently watched all Matt Bomer related Chuck episodes).
Joss Whedon has a connection piece to a great many faces and works on television today. I think it'd be awesome if he did an episode of Supernatural.

I have seen some of the actors here on other shows (like Amy Acker in Angel), and sometimes I thought 'okay, where do I know this face from?'.
You did it, I will definitely check out White Collar. I goes on my next order with amazon (that is, next month, this month all my budget for this kind of indulgence is spent already.. sniff...)

(1) Stephen Tobolowsky, who plays the former Glee teacher on Glee, did a movie with (2) Jim Beaver in the late 80's
Whenever I watch anything, a movie or TV show, I often see someone I think is familiar and in 98% of those cases I look them up and find out they had a bit part on an episode 4 years ago...
there have been heaps of random one off characters from supernatural who have been on other shows like ncis, heroes, criminal minds and heaps of others (those are just the ones i watch)
