Illustrated Song for Two Brothers

This was a little inspiration I had this morning after getting up and listening to a cd I haven’t listened to in ages. But sometimes something grabs you and suddenly pictures appear in your head. This is a song by Chris de Burgh. It clearly has a political statement in its lines, but if you listen to is in terms of a metaphor, which I did this morning, it might also apply to our show. So, I thought I’d give you a little tribute to Sam and Dean when they were little and some of the kids that came close to my heart when watching the show. Enjoy.

The Simple Truth

                        By Chris de Burgh

A child is born on a battlefield,
A soldier boy falls to his knees,

pastedGraphic_1.pdf

And a woman cries in joy and pain,
When will we all live in peace again?

pastedGraphic_2.pdf

A child is born where the wild wind blows,
In a country torn from the south to the north

pastedGraphic_3.pdf

And a family runs from day to day,
When will we see our home again?

When will we see the simple truth,
That the only thing that's worth a damn,

pastedGraphic_4.pdf

The life of a child is more than a forest,
The life of a child is more than a border,
Could ever be;

pastedGraphic_5.pdf

A child is born in the desert sun,
A tiny life has just begun,

pastedGraphic_6.pdf

And a mother cries for her hungry babe,
When will I feed my boy again?

pastedGraphic_7.pdf

A child is born to an ordinary home,
East or west, it could be anyone,

pastedGraphic_8.pdf

But we all want to know,
Will my child survive to see the day,
When we will be secure again?

pastedGraphic_9.pdf

When will we see the simple truth,
That the only thing that's worth a damn,

pastedGraphic_10.pdf

The life of a child is more than a forest,
The life of a child is more than a border
The life of a child is more than a region,
The life of a child is only a heartbeat from eternity,

We must believe, for the sake of humanity,
We must believe...

For the sake of humanity, we must believe.

That was really nice, liebes. These always make me want to go listen to the song, since I haven't been familiar with any of your choices so far. I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!

CalifornianLeslie, Brynn, Bevie and Flamey, thank you! I have to admit Chris de Burgh's songs are in my 'guilty pleasure' closet.

Thanks for your ever present encouragement. Especially at this time of year which is particularly hard for me it's highly appreciated!

Love, Jas
